Due to my having eye surgery today (23 June 2010), there may or may not be updates for the next two days.
I am having laser iridotomy done as a preventive measure. Due to my family history and the fact I'm farsighted, there is an increased risk of what's called "closed angle glaucoma", which has a sudden onset, unlike open angle glaucoma.
If you're curious, this is what I get to look forward to today.
Dispatches will return ASAP.

Good luck with your eye surgery, Patrick. I hope all goes well and smooth for you.

Good luck with it - and hope it goes better than my 'corrective surgery' a few years ago!
A bit disheartening going into surgery, and being told that when you wake up you'll be able to hear like a 'normal' person, only to wake up 10 hours later and be told 'nope, wasn't what we thought was wrong with you, you'll have impaired hearing for life'!
.. but I digress ;)
