Dispatches from Birtherstan - for 1 September 2010

In today's dispatches, we have the Pest and eFail getting all moist about Beckapoolza, though still with some grumpy that Glenn Beck won't drink the birther kool-aid. Dr. Orly's performance on "Midnight Politics" is rated as "F" for "failure". The Poodle-brained one is still yapping her little racist head off. Dr. Orly still can't figure out Facebook - or freedom of speech for that matter. Lakin gets a support affidavit from a Fox News propagandist with a history of right-wing lying and anti-Islamic commentary. Miki Booth goes into conspiracy land and gives mixed signals about her support for Birtherpoolza. The Pest and eFail shows they know how to lie. Again. And Dr. Orly can't seem to understand that the majority of people simply don't believe her.

NOTE: The site "Politijab" is down due to (or so I understand) SQL issues with the forum.

We can take the Dr. Orly approach and assume that nefarious forces bent on silencing the truth hacked into the server.

Or, is more likely, we can assume the server is having issues, Justin and Foggy are doing work ...on it.

Or Foggy broke it, one of the two :-)

30 August - The Pest and eFail wiggles around and piddles on the rug over Glenn Beck's shindig last weekend.

"The event started with the Pledge of Allegiance immediately followed by the National Anthem. Say what you want, but close to a million voices raised over the Washington Mall singing the National Anthem moves your soul!"

There were around 83,000 people there. Less than 10% of a million. Not even close to "a million".

"At one point, three or four agents provocateurs in their 20s appeared on our left carrying racist and insulting signs. They were mainly ignored and easily spotted as everybody else had obeyed the no-sign policy. Irrelevant overall."

Don't you love the way she tries and pretend that the racists in her crowd aren't "really" part of her crowd, oh no? They just *have* to be outside influences sent to make them all look bad.

It's amazing the sheer inability for the Tea Party folks to take responsibility for their own actions.

Doubtful. And why were people leaving early, eh?

And that's a surprise?? Dr. Orly has a complete and total allergy to anything like "truth" or "reality"

31 August - Haven't heard much from the Poodle Brained one, virulent Islamophobe and birther Therese Daniels. Not surprising, she's still spewing lies, lies, and lies.

Note, you have to wade though the various crap videos she's pinned to the top of her blog.

Racist much?

I wrote about "Taqiyya" way back on 27 September 2008. As I said then:

"The first thing you have to understand is that there are two major branches or denominations of Islam. There is Sunni, the largest branch, and Shia, which comes in second. Shia has the majority of the population in Iran, Azerbaijan, Bahrain and Iraq, a large group in Lebanon, but is relatively small outside of those areas. (There are also two smaller branches, Sufism, which is more a mystical tradition than an actual branch, and Ibadism, which is the dominant version in Oman.)

Sunni and Shia don't always see eye to eye, to put it mildly. In many respects, the historical record is simular to the Catholic Church and Anglican Church - periods of outright hatred and periods of cooperation.

The concept of Taquyah is a Shia dispensation allowing believers to hide their faith while under threat, persecution or compulsion, and can ONLY be used when the person is wrongly persecuted.

The Sunni believe it to be an act of hypocrisy because they believe it shows the person to be fearful of humans when they should be fearful of God.

Now, bear in mind the areas and people in Islam who Sen. Obama has had contact with while growing up.

In Kenya, the majority of Muslims are Sunni. Including Sen. Obama's father and his family in that country.

In Indonesia, 99% of Muslims are Sunni. Even if you buy into the "Madrassa" myth, the majority of fundementalist "madrassas" in the world are funded by Wahabist fundementalists in Saudi Arabia. Which is VERY Sunni.

In other words, the Islamic influences in his life have all been Sunni, not Shia.

Sunnis consider "Taqiyya" to be a Shia heresy.

And according to the Shia, "Taqiyya" is only to be used when one's life is threatened, NOT for personal gain."

It's not surprising that Therese Daniels is lying here - her hatred / phobia of Islam, meshed with her paranoia about Obama, pretty much guarantees she's willing to believe in these lies. The fact she's a bigot helps her here as well.

31 August - The OC Weekly reports on Dr. Orly's Facebook problems.

"...she found herself locked out of her Facebook account, a victim of the site's new user-verification system that asks account holders to prove their identity by matching the names of their friends to pictures of their friends (this reporter faced this mechanism when he logged into Facebook from abroad recently). Of course, Taitz has a lot of friends she's never met. So getting back into Facebook has proven hard. What response does this prompt from "Lady Liberty?" Emphasis ours:

31 August - Dr. Orly is still flinging poo at reporters who dare *gasp!* report on her rather than simply parrot what she demands they parrot. (malware and redirect warning)

31 August - Retired Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney gives an affidavit in support of Lakin.

"For the foregoing reasons, it is my opinion that LTC Lakin's request for discovery relating to the President's birth records in Hawaii is absolutely essential to determining not merely his guilt or innocence but to reassuring all military personnel once and for all for this President whether his service as Commander in Chief is Constitutionally proper. He is the one single person in the Chain of Command that the Constitution demands proof of natural born citizenship. This determination is fundamental to our Republic, where civilian control over the military is the rule. According to the Constitution, the Commander in Chief must now, in the face of serious -and widely-held- concerns that he is ineligible, either voluntarily establish his eligibility by authorizing release of his birth records or this court must authorize their discovery. The invasion of his privacy in these records is utterly trivial compared to the issues at stake here. Our military MUST have confidence their Commander in Chief lawfully holds his office and absent which confidence grievous consequences may ensue.

LTC Lakin has voluntarily sought court-martial, and history will record whether this Court treats this matter with the seriousness it deserves. If LTC Lakin is wrong, the records will show this and the Court will make its decision as to his guilt or innocence accordingly. On the other hand, if LTC Lakin is RIGHT, and the records prove this, then this Court should also make its decision based on that evidence. Either way, allowing access to these records is critical to our Republic. An obscure Lieutenant Colonel has come forward at great personal risk in adherence to his oath of office. In so doing he is standing in for all the American people. Far and above the issues before this Court is the American people's right to know their President holds his office pursuant to the Constitution or not. That is why this Court should grant the defense request for discovery of records with the State of Hawaii and the schools and colleges the President attended."

The name "Thomas McInerney" sounded familiar. So I went checking.

Turns out he's a regular on "Fox News", and was one of the retired generals that Media Matters identified as those cheerleading and lying about the reasons to go to war in Iraq.

"Though many analysts are paid network consultants, making $500 to $1,000 per appearance, in Pentagon meetings they sometimes spoke as if they were operating behind enemy lines, interviews and transcripts show. Some offered the Pentagon tips on how to outmaneuver the networks, or as one analyst put it to Donald H. Rumsfeld, then the defense secretary, "the Chris Matthewses and the Wolf Blitzers of the world." Some warned of planned stories or sent the Pentagon copies of their correspondence with network news executives. Many -- although certainly not all -- faithfully echoed talking points intended to counter critics.

"Good work," Thomas G. McInerney, a retired Air Force general, consultant and Fox News analyst, wrote to the Pentagon after receiving fresh talking points in late 2006. "We will use it."

Pat Boone cited him as support for a claim that the Iraqi leadership had weapons of mass destruction.

"That Russian Spetsnaz (special forces) units evidently helped Saddam's military in secreting away – mostly into Syria – WMD that had first been purchased from Russia. Former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense John Shaw recently declared after lots of inquiry that the Russians' goal had been to erase any signs of their involvement in Saddam's WMD programs. On this point, retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney has been quoted as believing the Bush administration needs Russia's involvement now in halting Iran's rush toward nuclear armament and so must resist information damning to Russia."

And was a vocal supporter of Donald Rumsfeld.

"It never occurs to the media to question the inappropriateness of retired military officers publicly criticizing the U.S. civilian leadership during war. But other retired generals – John Crosby, Thomas McInerney, Buron Moore and Paul Vallely, among others – have said it is highly inappropriate. It also doesn't bother the media that the retired officers' demand for Secretary Rumsfeld's resignation during wartime could undermine our war effort and troop morale. They can't stand this war anyway."

Note two of those names - Thomas McInerney and Paul Vallely. Paul Vallely, of course, has called for the impeachment and removal of Barack Obama. Which sounds a lot like "criticizing the U.S. civilian leadership during war"

He also lied about ACORN

"An April 7 Human Events article uncritically reported retired Lt. Gen. Thomas G. McInerney's false claim that the "stimulus package ... gives $3-billion to ACORN," which McInerney made while criticizing Defense Secretary Robert Gates' military budget recommendations. Human Events reported: " 'I am appalled at the decisions just made by the secretary, as are other very senior Air Force general officers,' retired Lt. Gen. Thomas G. McInerney (U.S. Air Force), told HUMAN EVENTS following U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates' press conference yesterday. ... 'Four percent [of GDP] for baseline Defense budget is certainly not too much to ask,' says McInerney. 'After all, we spent $787-billion on a stimulus package that gives $3-billion to ACORN.' " As Media Matters for America has documented, ACORN is a popular scapegoat for conservatives, and the claim that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides money for ACORN is false."

And seems to have a problem with Muslims as well.

"McInerney: "If you are an 18- to 28-year-old Muslim man, then you should be strip-searched." On the January 2, 2009, edition of America's News HQ, Fox News contributor Lt. Gen. (ret.) Tom McInerney said that "we have to use profiling. And I mean be very serious and harsh about the profiling. If you are an 18- to 28-year-old Muslim man, then you should be strip-searched. And if we don't do that, there's a very high probability we're going to lose an airliner." After host Julie Banderas noted that profiling would be "essentially singling out people because of a religious group," McInerney responded, "If that age group doesn't like it, then what are they doing to stop this jihad against the West?""

So let's see. He's far right and an anti-Islamic bigot.

And he's speaking out against a President who's a democrat with a Muslim-sounding name, going so far as to suggest that there's something....funny about said President's birth.

Yeah, so NOT a surprise he's shilling for Lakin.....

31 August - Teabagger birther (and failed congressional candidate) Miki Booth goes into conspiracy land over at the Pest and eFail, claiming Obama set things up during Beckapoolza to start a race war.

"The “sleeping giant” is being deliberately prodded on a daily basis with outrageous actions by Obama and his “puppet masters” to get the giant to snap and create chaos and crisis to implement police and military action. No doubt Obama “got out of Dodge” to the safety of Marthaʼs Vineyard to watch a potential playing out of the plan they so persistently lay out with provocations. All the elements were there: mass numbers of white racists on one side and black militant marchers led by a race-baiting preacher on the other. If that wasnʼt enough to start a crisis they could pounce upon, they stirred the pot by adding illegal alien pardons, back-door amnesty and reporting charges of human rights violations to the United Nations. And maybe for good measure allowing the Mexican government to put its soldiers on American soil to protect their illegal citizens from hate crimes in a New York borough.

Try as they might, nothing happened, and now their heads are spinning wondering what went wrong."

And like most birthers, she's unhappy that Glenn Beck fails to descend into birtherstan.

"Other stories relate disappointments such as that it got boring or that Beck didn’t deliver. They were expecting a miracle or a revelation that Obamaʼs hidden records have been revealed and impeachment processes have begun or LTC Lakin was a surprise guest on the agenda and we could all unite in support and move forward with a cohesive plan to fight his court-martial and get discovery of documents for his defense. None of these things happened, and although Beck continues to gather followers, he continually loses those of us who recognize how he falls pathetically short of having the courage to bring up the question of eligibility."

Oh, and a miracle!

She did realize it's heading towards fall, and geese *migrate* around now, right??

Once again, Tea Party math, where 83,000 = 1 million. And they wonder why some people don't take them seriously. It's hard to take people seriously when they constantly lie about their numbers of supporters.

Which is one of many reasons why I don't take birthers seriously either.

And last time I checked, we had freedom of religion in this country, not "freedom of Christian religion".

31 August - Looks like "Midnight Politics" isn't done with Dr. Orly....

Iran also offered to help the United States during Hurricane Katerina, and I remember our friends in the Middle East (Qatar, the UAE, among others) raising money to help relief efforts.

But just go believing what you want. You will anyway.

As of 23 August 2010, Obama has taken nine vacations, totaling 48 days.

At the same point in George W Bush's presidency, he had taken 115 days of vacation. In total, Bush spent 490 days just at his ranch in Texas, and 487 days at Camp David. That's 2.75 YEARS just at those two locations.

And that was while "millions of Americans were out of work" too.

There is no such thing as a "plain vanilla" US citizen. If you have US citizenship at birth, you are legally a natural born US citizen according to US law and the US Constitution. Any other citizenships at birth don't count according to US law, and the citizenship of one's parent or parents only matters if one is born outside of the United States.

What a tool.
