Most of today's dispatches are paranoid and racist blather from Dr. Orly. Among other things the Nitrous Queen is babbling about is a demand for "Nurenberg" trials because she can't figure out facebook, complaints that her malware-infested machine can't access her email, and general wingnuttery. Philip Berg also gets a shout-out - okay, a shout at, by Dr. Orly, which is okay because he's been keeping busy, first at Glenn Beck''s little shindig, and later Wonkette reports on his planned birtherapalooza.

31 August - Dr. Orly can't figure out Facebook or Facebook's security. This is, of course, Obama's fault. (Malware and redirect warning)

Dispatches from Birtherstan - for 28-30 August 2010

In today's dispatches, Philip Berg announces the latest date for his planned march of the penguins birthers. The Pest and eFail whines that the State of Hawaii is being MEAN to them, wahhh. We have Oklahoma close encounters with the birtherstani population. Off Shore Jobs Bob is losing it. Dr. Orly turns tail and runs from the tough questions, President Obama pokes fun at the birthers, a bigoted minister is - surprise - a birther too, and Weekly World News has fun with birthers.

27 August - Remember that birtherstani "March on Washington" that Philip Berg announced and then postponed?? Well, it's back on. Kinda. See, it's no longer a march upon Washington DC, but a "rally"....

"Philip J. Berg, Esquire, Obamacrimes.com is sponsoring the “OBAMA BIRTH CERTIFICATE / ELIGIBILITY / OBAMACARE” RALLY IN WASHINGTON, D.C. The Rally will be on Saturday, October 23, 2010 – 12 Noon to 4:00 p.m. at the U.S. CAPITOL – West Front.

All individuals participating are requested to bring a copy of their Birth Certificate."

Oh, and he wants money.

"The cost of the Rally on Washington is expensive. We must raise Fifty Thousand [$50,000] Dollars to cover the costs of the Rally including promoting this important event."

Berg's PayPal button must have gotten lonely or something.

It's a good CYA move on Berg's part. It would be embarassing to have the usual low numbers a birther event pulls if it was a march. But a "rally" can be any size. Nice move.

In today's dispatches, Rep. Jo Bonner has to deal with the birtherstani in his district. The OC weekly reports on Dr. Orly's jihad. Dr. Orly seems to think a ruling against her means the judge is - gasp - biased. Neal Turner continues to be a PITA. Dr. Orly files a demand that the judge in Taitz v Obama reconsider his "no", and lets her racist, narcissistic freak flag fly. And William Wagner continues to be sniffing around Dr. Orly's rear like a particularly ill-mannered dog.

25 August - Rep Jo Bonner (R-Alabama's 1st congressional district.) gets to deal with the birthers and Tea Party crowd in his district.

"In one telling exchange, Bonner, who faces Constitution Party candidate David Walter in the general election, was asked why he hadn’t joined a congressional Tea Party caucus formed by U.S. Rep. Michelle Bachman, R-Minn.

Bonner said that his seat on the House Ethics Committee — a position he accepted at Boehner’s request, and one that he compared to serving on a jury — required him to be cautious.

“You have to be careful, particularly when you’re from the South, because those associations can be misconstrued,” he said. “I try not to get involved in caucuses that make me look like a radical, right-wing nut. I don’t think that’s what the Tea Party is, but I want to avoid the appearance.” "

*Chuckle* Good save there at the end. The problem being that most of the Tea Party seems to be radical right-wing nuts....

"A local restaurant owner demanded that Bonner investigate the source of Obama’s birth certificate, arguing that the president was not born in the U.S. and should be removed from office.

Bonner said he was satisfied that Obama’s Hawaii birth certificate was authentic, citing comments from Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle.

“I don’t know why she’d say that if it wasn’t true,” he said.

The questioner persisted, causing Bonner to raise his hands in mock surrender.

“Look, I’m just not going to get on Fox News and make the president’s birth certificate my cause,” he said. “I have to pick my battles, and the fact is I have 635,000 constituents that I have to try to balance. The majority of them would rather I focus on jobs and on winning the next election — not trying to undo the last one.” "

Good for him, though that's going to make the birtherstani's heads explode.

In today's dispatches, we have Dr. Kate bringing in the big guns....okay, the leaky super soakers of birtherdom. Kerchner v Obama gets a ruling in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and Kerchner might want to get his checkbook out. There's unrest among the cRAP masters and the cRAPpers who follow them. Jerome Corsi shows he's right at home writing for World Nut Daily by making stuff up. Again. Barnett v Dunn gets moved to Federal Court. Polland / Polarik has another "brainstorm" to add to his conspiracy theory. And Dr. Kate starts her "siege".

5 August - Constitutional Hydrologist Dr. Kate gets a big name addition to her planned Washington DC rally in September.

Namely Mr. James Manning.

Manning is, of course, an attention whore who hasn't gotten much press since his pretend trial a few months ago that as attended by thousands of.....err, hundreds of......okay, a few dozen birthers. So it's not surprising he's trying to find another sugar tit to latch onto. Much the same way that Berg (and Sharon Meroni, and maybe even Dr. Orly herself) is trying to latch onto the Beck/Palin rally. However, B-rated birther names have to stick together I guess.

"I have just received word that the Honorable James David Manning will be joining the Constitutional Accountability Project (CAP) on September 6th for its opening ceremony in Washington D.C.. Still taking time off to spend with my family, but here's the latest dispatches from birtherstan.

The Pest and eFail continues to whine and pout and stamp their feet, first with a demand that Obama NOT be called the President, then they fall into the realm of 'racist paranoia', then they get results back from their "researcher" that's more favourable to Obama than the Pest and eFail, and finally they go on an extended cruse to Orlyville and her paranoia about Judge Carter.

Speaking of the Peroxide Princess, one of Dr. Orly's cavity creeps is even crazier than she is. The OC weekly reports on her fail in the Supreme Court, while Tulsa Today pokes her with a stick.

Alan Keyes whines in World Nut Daily that Glen Beck isn't crazy enough for the Birtherstani. Philip Berg shows his own bigotry, and then gets his words swiped by a racist of the anti-semitic kind, showing some small amount of karmic justice there. The secret cRAP masters are promising goodies Any Day Now. And we peek in on the PUMA blog "Hillary is 44", and see that, yes indeedy, the PUMA kitties are still showing the world a living example of the term "sore loser".

17 August - More whining and stamping of the feet from the Pest and eFail

In today's dispatches, more cRAP news. The Pest and eFail whines that Glenn Beck needs to get crazier and start spouting the birtherstani party line. Also the Pest and eFail's Washington candidate succeeds at the birtherstani national sport of failure. Barnett v Dunn gets booted to federal court. Joseph Farah proves to be too crazy for Ann Coulter. And Dr. Orly once again defies the laws of reality and tries to get the Supreme Court to reconsider - oh and to throw out the "usurper" and give Dr. Orly money please.

Senior US government officials as well as military brass say the situation is extremely touch and go. They point out that the problems created by the Federal Reserve Board and their clandestine owners go back over 100 years and will not be untangled overnight.

It's a very Orly-heavy Dispatches today, as Dr. Orly copes with her rejection by the Supreme Court. Okay, "jihad" might be a better term to use. Looks like Meg Whitman has some birtherstani ties in her campaign. And the people at "ResistNet" are really really really wanting their civil war now please.

16 August - Interesting ties former eBay CEO Meg Whitman has..

"Just who is it funding this most recent attack on Brown? Voters don't know, because the SBAC refuses to disclose the interests who funded the million-dollar ad buy. Is it the same Texas oil companies funding Proposition 23? Only Joel Fox knows, and he isn't saying.

We do know, however, who runs the SBAC with Fox. In addition to Fox, the SBAC is run by James Lacy, a well-known right-wing activist who is also a co-founder of the United States Justice Foundation, which has filed multiple lawsuits challenging President Obama's citizenship.

"I'm sure neither Meg Whitman nor Joel Fox want to admit their ties to 'Birthers', but there it is." Clifford said. "This ridiculous ad is right on the level of Lacy's absurd demands for the President's birth certificate."

Dispatches from Birtherstan - for 13 - 16 August 2010

I'm on and off "vacation" (okay a staycation) the next few days, so updates *might* not be every day. I'll try and keep up though.

The biggest thing in this entry though, IMHO, is that Dr. Orly finally drops all pretense of being anything other than a racist, hate-filled bigot. Several entries from her website deal with diatribes against African-Americans, as well as calling for hate crimes against Muslims. (Ironically enough, what she's calling for could be considered a hate crime against Jews if they were done to her as well. But she simply can't SEE that though her own hatred and bigotry.

She also gets told "no" by the Supreme Court. Again.

Elsewhere in birtherstan, we have more examples of far-right extremists wanting their civil war and rebellion fixes. A Kansas GOP candidate gets himself in hot water for tweeting a story from Bob Pinkstaff. Gary Kreep actually does a moderately sane submission in Keyes/Barnett v Obama. Sharon Meroni is trying to teach grandma to suck eggs. Lakin's supporters are pissed because Lakin is being treated like, well, a criminal suspect. The SPLC reports on the Sovereign Citizens movement. Margaret Hemenway is trying for John McCain and a binky. We have video of Obama's passport (gee, he must have submitted something like, oh, I dunno, a COLB for that...) The Fantasy Tiddlywinks League has a new idea - try to get the FBI on their side! The birthers think that harassing and threatening Lakin's Commanding General is a Really Good Idea. And Dr. Orly still thinks she's going to become Secretary of State in California.

3 August - Media Matters reports on the far right's fetish for rebellion

"This is not the first time Owens has openly discussed armed revolution. After the passage of health care reform, Owens expressed"some hope" that the bill would be ruled unconstitutional and Democrats would be voted out of office so that Owens and "freshly-experienced combat veterans" would not be forced to resort to the "morally-required alternative."

3 August -An article at "The Daily Kos" about the continues the Media Matters article on some right-wing sites.

I abhor voilence, yet I increasingly feel it is inevitable. When it comes, the first targets should be the MSM.

And this guy is all fired up about Obamacare. That way, when he shoots someone he can be sure that even if they live, they'll go broke

I have been saying for a while now that if the Republicans win the house this November... repeal ObamaCare.....If the Republicans botch it, the only way will be armed rebellion.

The skirmishes will start out small in fly-over country, and there will be serious bloodshed as the Government attempts to quell the uprisings. Remember that match being lit? The Governments’ use of deadly force on her citizens will ignite the rage that will sweep across the nation, like a wildfire on a hot, dry prairie in August.....At the very least, the major metropolitan areas will be isolated (they are already surrounded by Red) and there will be no escape. To get anything in or out of a Blue county, it has to go through Red at some point. Good luck with that. When the Blue areas are sufficiently starved, they will come looking for food, and they will either be set right to the facts, pardoned or pacified. If not, we will refresh the tree of liberty with their blood!

Apologies for a day-long delay. Spending a day with my family was more important than what the birthers were blathering about. *smile*

Anyway, Berg appeals the appeal in Berg v Obama II, playing the race card while at it. Dr. Orly is really wanting her military coup. Justice Alito refers Dr. Orly's sanctions appeal to the entire court. Dr. Orly is trying to get her minions to cough up $20,000 worth of paypal. And she appeals Keyes/Barnett v Obama, and oh wow does she pull the stops out on this one. Not to be outdone, Berg ups the crazy on this PR releases, claiming that Obama will be quitting "...soon". Huffington Post writes about our friends the Sovereign Citizens groups. Dr. Orly has a defeatist attitude about the Supreme Court, and more lien fun.

8 August - Philip Berg appeals the decision in the "Whistleblower" Berg v Obama case, asking for an en banc decision.

And he plays the race card to boot. (bold face mine)

"Philip J. Berg, Esquire, the first Attorney who filed suit against Barack H. Obama challenging Senator Obama’s lack of “Constitutional qualifications” to serve as President of the United States. The Policy of United States Attorney General Eric Holder not to prosecute “blacks” in voting rights cases should be no surprise as A.G. Holder has refused to prosecute Barack Hussein Obama in the False Claims Act [Qui Tam] case of Berg as Relator vs. Obama."

So it's not the fact that Berg v Obama II was a rehashed steaming pile of crap from Berg v Obama I, it's because Eric Holder is *gasp*, black!

Berg has, in the past, trumpeted his NAACP membership. Which hasn't stopped him from getting cozy with neo-confederates and anti-semetics, as long as they hated Obama as well. And it didn't stop him from allowing racist and hate speech on the first couple of incarnations of his site, (Obama supporters were quick to be banned, but the racists seemed to be given a free pass.) It's not usual for him to play it this bluntly.

"In the case against Obama, I set forth that Obama is not “natural born” or “naturalized” but an “illegal alien” and therefore, his term as a United States Senator from Illinois was fraud and the salary and benefits Obama received must be returned to the United States Treasury, an amount in excess of One [$1] Million Dollars. And so far the courts have disagreed with you.

"I base my claim on the fact that Obama was adopted/acknowledged by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro, in Indonesia and Obama’s legal name became “Barry Soetoro.” At age ten [10] when he returned to Hawaii, I allege that he did not go through U.S. Immigration on a U.S. Passport, but did so on his Indonesia Passport, therefore, an “illegal alien.” Also, I allege that “Barry Soetoro” [former Barrack Hussein Obama] has never legally changed his name and therefore, he has committed ongoing fraud by using Barrack Hussein Obama."

And you have NEVER provided any evidence to back up any of these claims, and ignored any evidence - much less US AND Indonesian law - that disproves these claims.

Maybe THAT'S why the courts keep telling you "No".

"For this reason, Berg has filed a Petition for Rehearing En Banc with the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. When a case is brought to the United States Appellate Court, the matter or a three-Judge panel hears matters complained of. When you request a rehearing En Banc, you are asking for the majority of active Circuit Judges to rehear the case En Banc."

And the answer will more than likely STILL be "No", if past history is any indication.

"Berg concluded, “If we are denied a rehearing En Banc, then I will take this Case to the U.S. Supreme Court as the issues presented are far too important not to address.”

Oh what a surprise.

The definition of "insanity" is doing something over and over again in hopes the results are different. Since the courts - and supreme court - has rejected the very same argument Berg is making several times over, it's insane to think the appeals court - and supreme court - will rule any differently. In his own way, Berg is as insane, hatefilled, and unwilling to listen to facts, as Dr. Orly is. They're two peas in a pod - which may be why they hate each other so.

A couple "better late then never" updates from PolitiFact. Dr. Orly is spinning tales of look-alikes and evil twins. We have comments about the political usefulness of birtherstanis, Dr. Orly's followers ignore who shared the Dental Chair o' Luv with her. In a circular firing squad of stupidity, World Nut Daily cites the Pest and eFail. Dr. Orly starts hitting up her remaining followers for $20,000 worth of stupid. CNN points out that claims of Presidential Ineligibility isn't anything new. The media picks up on Dr. Orly's lien. Allan West flirts with the birtherstani. Joseph Farah writes a shrill and dishonest article - again. Dr. Orly takes a big hit off the nitrous tube of conspiracy and rides the pink unicorn into wingbattia. Chris Strunk whines in court that the evidence doesn't support his beliefs, therefore the evidence is wrong. An interesting - and disturbing article on the less savoury tactics in modern conservatism. And the OC Weekly reports on Dr. Orly fishing for donations.

28 June - Missed a couple updates from PolitiFact. Like this one on the Pakistan trip myth.

"Obama has said he traveled to Pakistan in 1981. He was on summer vacation from college, and, after visiting his mother in Indonesia, he traveled to Pakistan with a college friend. However, according to the U.S. Department of State, the department in charge of issuing travel bans, Pakistan had a green light for adventurous U.S. citzens.

"According to our Pakistan experts," said Ivna Giauque, a public affairs officer at the State Department, "there was no travel ban to Pakistan in 1981."

Without the original premise that Pakistan had a travel ban, the rest of the argument deteriorates. The author of the e-mail may have been confusing a travel warning or travel advisory with a travel ban. The University of Illinois at Chicago Library has an archive of State Department documents, including one from Aug. 17, 1981, issuing a travel advisory for Pakistan. It is the oldest travel advisory document in the archive related to Pakistan.

Even if Obama traveled after the advisory was issued instead of earlier in the summer, the State Department confirmed it wasn't illegal. Our good friends at Snopes and Factcheck.org found a travel article about visiting Pakistan published in the New York Times in June 1981, and it mentions nothing about such travel being illegal. An August 1981 letter to the editor in the New York Times by the U.S. Consul General in Lahore, Pakistan, encouraged people to come visit. We also found an ad in the New York Times from March which listed Karachi and Lahore as two destinations in their travel package.

In 1981, travel to Pakistan was not illegal or prohibited. Somebody was just looking for an excuse to promote the birther conspiracy, so we rate it Pants On Fire."

Which is what i've been saying here for quite a while now.
