And 2010 draws to a close, with the Birtherstani's over two year long temper tantrum showing no signs of ending anytime soon. We've seen cases filed and dismissed. Calls for coups, treason, and rebellion. Paranoid and wingbat conspiracies. Lies, damn lies, and complete bulldada. Rallies and fake trials that draw under 100 people. And in a first, people jailed due to acting upon the birther mythos.
And in all of that, Obama is still President, and is likely to continue as such at least until his first term is completed. And barring changes in the economy or a credible challenger, is likely to win a second term.
According to Gallup, at 703 days into their first terms, approval ratings for the last twelve Presidents were:
Obama - 47%
GW Bush - 63%
Clinton - 40%
GHW Bush - 58%
Reagan - 37%
Carter - 50%
Ford - n/a
Nixon - 56%
Johnson - 65%
Kennedy - 74%
Eisenhower - 70%
Truman - 60%
So as you see, Obama's ratings aren't much different from Reagan or Clinton's. And while Carter and GHW Bush both had higher ratings, neither went on to a second term. GW Bush was still on the crest of the post 9-11 wave at that point in his Presidency as well.
But facts and logic have never been the birther stock in trade. To their point of view, the complaint is why hasn't Obama been frog-marched out of the White House in chains, to await prison or execution???
So we wrap up this year with "jbjd" needing to turn in her birtherstan passport. Science Fiction set in 2018. Huff having probation problems in the media. A blame the victim attitude. Andy Martin setting up a future failed presidential bid. Dr. Orly setting up a failed senate bid. Dr. Kate flogging the twin demons of racism and conspiracy. HillBuzz still acting like disgruntled PUMAs. Kerchner violating everything his oath as an officer stood for - and admitting to being a lunatic conspiracy theorist. Birther cases being thrown out of courts. Birther cases coming up against the Supreme Court to be dismissed there. Scientific reasons for the birther batshittery. And whines from the birthers about being called birthers, not to mention racist links with the birthers and other undesirables.
24 December - "jbjd" might have her birtherstani secret decoder ring taken away from her for daring to speak out against the official birtherstan party line about Lakin.
"There are plenty of villains to go around in the pitiful saga of U.S. v. LTC Terrence Lakin, the physician convicted in a military court martial of violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice (“UCMJ”) for refusing to obey orders to deploy to Afghanistan. I would start with the numerous blogs which encouraged Mr. Lakin to disobey a direct order to report for duty and then hyperbolically deified him for heeding their advice. Equally reprehensible is their simultaneous vilification of the military court for prosecuting their sacrificial lamb.
Ostensibly, their positions derive from a good faith belief that Lakin predicated his refusal to obey a direct order, on their shared understanding that Barack Obama, elected President in 2008, is nonetheless Constitutionally ineligible to be his Commander in Chief. Even so, the blind zealous demonstration of support they publicly maintain for Mr. Lakin’s case, if real, only makes sense if they failed to subject his conduct to a reasonable analysis under the applicable law. But they also aimed vituperative darts at the military tribunal, which only makes sense if they blindly ignored the court’s enumerated invitations to Defendant to perfect his case. Only, as usual in these situations, that is, whenever someone publicly questions Obama’s Article II, section 1 eligibility to be President in a forum not designed to entertain such fancy; they adopted the demeanor of spoiled children who in effect supplant reason with holding their collective breath.
Adding insult to injury, these bloggers fail throughout their insufferable pseudo ‘patriotic’ rants to even acknowledge the potentially lethal impact to cause or country which could result from such unilateral decisions by other troops not to serve."
Oh ouch. Her fellow birthers might kick her out of birtherstan for doubleplus ungood nonlakin think.
26 December - The "Stand Up America" blog spins a flight of fancy set in 2018.
"Its a new day and the President is now someone other than Barack Obama. No matter who, but one thing is for sure, we now know the truth about the former President. The new President has faithfully and without obfuscation proven him or herself as Constitutionally eligible, prior to his/her run. Not only was Obama discovered to be ineligible then to be President, but in 2018, it now seems he was never even a citizen of the USA."
Yeah, good luck with that skippy.
"The START treaty; is it null and void? Will American Citizens be able to sue the Federal Government for damages they suffered at the hands of an illegal President? All those taxes redistributed, the new Health Care costs paid by the individuals, who is liable? What about all those soldiers who died in battle after taking orders from this person? What about all the lost self-worth of each and every citizen? The list is now endless in 2018.
Was it really worth overlooking the facts in 2010 and before? Was it worth pretending he was ‘okay to go’ only to have worse questions to answer later? The politicians, pundits, and media types who believed, and many stated, that there would be far more trouble if it was revealed in 2010 that he was not truly eligible may be those now liable in 2018. They stated then the implications of exposing the truth would create race riots, a self-destructed economy, and a mess the world has never seen. But now, its revealed entirely. Who cleans up the mess? The children and grandchildren swamped with unprecedented debt the day they were born? What do we do? Wipe it under the carpet and ‘look ahead’ instead of backward? Is Progressive a term now reviled for its true nature?
Regardless of what happens, history will judge, count on it. Those in Congress, the media, state governments, political parties, mavens, pundits, and the rest of the ‘more enlightened’ of 2008 through 2010 will be the ones to blame. Why, because it was done with malice aforethought, open and notorious obstruction of justice, willful and criminal neglect, criminal dereliction of duty, open fraud, and quite possibly; treason."
"Wahhh! What happens if future generations discover an uppity darkie got elected to the WHITE House????"
27 December - The Knoxville News Sentinel reports on Darren Huff's probation and bond problems.
"Mackie agreed to allow Huff to go free pending trial as long as he wore an ankle bracelet to monitor his movements. Huff later told U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Guyton that his job as a landscaper required that he wear boots over which an ankle bracelet would not fit. Guyton, in turn, agreed to let Huff go free without the monitoring device.
Mackie is now alleging that Huff tricked Guyton and his pre-trial supervision officer, claiming employment at an landscaping firm while actually taking a job at a T-shirt shop.
"The government submits that (Huff) has engaged in what amounts to a 'bait and switch' conduct, which has had the effect of evading the original terms of his pretrial release," Mackie wrote.
Mackie is asking Guyton to either jail Huff pending trial or force him to wear the ankle bracelet. Huff's defense team has not yet filed a response. Guyton has set a hearing on the issue next week."
Some of the comments are amusing.
" * December 28, 2010

Huff must be a commie. Why else would he want to use an AK made by Communist China to overthrow the government of the U.S.A. Send his butt to North Korea where he belongs. He's the Manchurian Hillbilly!"

Thought maybe the RWNJ's calmed down a bit, being Boehner and the rightwing gets to reinstate the miserably failed Bushy policys, because of the recent election..
Look forward to long winded, mixed descriptions and interpretations of 'natural born' citizen, and foolish assertions by 'armchair lawyers', such as ther nutjob mentioned in this article..
These 'birthers' are the black helicopter, FEMA concentration camp, that believe muttering a few 'legally worded phrases' will excuse any crime they commit.. The rumor, that a 'citizen' could arrest the entire juducal, for not 'prosecuting' Obama, has been floating around for years.. This nutcase actually believed it..
According to the hard rightwing, That 'darn minority' couldnt have really won the election, someway, somehow, he cheated.. The southern states remain the stronghold of institutionalized racism and hatred.."
27 December - William Jacobson seems to have an odd "blame the victim" mentality. (though, based on the links on his site, I suspect a good solid dose of Obama hatred is in play as well)
"The world has been artificially divided into "Birthers" and "anti-Birthers" when in fact I suspect a large percentage or even majority of the population is neither and simply wants all the evidence released so that we can move beyond the issue. For most people, who have had to show their own birth certificates at various points in their lives, the notion that a presidential candidate should release his or her birth certificate to prove qualification for office reflects neither pro- nor anti-Obama sentiment, but a "what's the big deal?" attitude.
It also seems that the supposed intellectual poles have been reversed.
People who supposedly are irrational and driven by hatred demand to see the evidence. People who supposedly are rational and driven by dispassionate intellect demand that the evidence not be seen.
Isn't this the exact opposite of what should take place? Or have the labels been misapplied?"
My vote is for "misapplied". Because the people who are "rational and driven by dispassionate intellect" recognize that the evidence has been presented, and that there is not a solid piece of evidence to back up any of the birther claims. Where as those "irrational and driven by hatred" will reject out of hand any evidence that dares to disprove their claim.
Jacobson is setting up a straw man argument here.
"Why isn't everyone who believes the "Birthers" to be driven by hatred and racism, and motivated by politics, doing what Obama's family friend and the new Democratic Governor of Hawaii wants to do, rebut and rebuke with the best evidence?"
Because the evidence has been presented, and the birthers refuse to accept it and/or move the goalposts AGAIN.
27 December - Looks like snow has interfered with the presidential announcement of anti-Semitic internet outhouse Andy Martin.
"A press release from Andy Martin, who has dubbed himself “King of the Birthers” and filed two lawsuits in Hawaii emanating from the Obama eligibility question, had stated that Martin would be announcing a run for the presidency in 2012 in Chicago on Wednesday, December 29. However, because of the major snowstorm which blanketed the Northeast on Monday when Martin was in New York, he has changed his plans and will be making the announcement in Concord, NH on Wednesday."
Oh shucky darn.
"Four years ago when Obama was sacheting to the Democratic Party’s nomination, Hillary Clinton was afraid to do anything. The Republicans were trembling at asking the birth questions, and we were just developing that. The “Birther” movement was, as we lawyers would say, inchoate. It hadn’t yet become fully formed. Also, people were drinking Barry Obama’s homemade Hawaiian kool-aid. So I was literally the Jeremiah, the voice in the wilderness, saying, “Look, this guy isn’t for real, and there are lots of questions, etc.”
"I’m not afraid to tackle this guy, and I now have what you might call an outstanding track record of bringing the truth to the people. "
Well, you have an outstanding track record of being regarded as a kook.
"So obviously, my campaign is going to act as a national clearinghouse for challenges to Obama in all 50 states. We’re going to be challenging his ballot access and saying, “Don’t give us the Certification of Live Birth; we want the birth certificate.”
And the courts will go "Full Faith and Credit Clause of the US Constitution. Next??"
"This guy treats the federal government’s airplanes and Michelle Obama as though they’re New York City taxis. He’s the ultimate welfare recipient because he’s living off public assistance, which is to say the taxpayers."
"They’re getting excited in New Hampshire because we’re going to be first on Wednesday."
28 December - Dr. Kate's cesspool stinks worse than usual, with Dr. Kate trying desperately to prove Obama isn't even an American - and failing.
"Obama can’t even prove he is an American."
Funny, the State of Hawaii disagrees with this statement.
"In fact the only thing we can confirm about Obama is that he is a foreigner–foreign to America, foreign to the english language, and ignorant of our history."
Actually one would argue that Obama is the very ideal of the American dream - that anyone born in this country, no matter what their origins, can aspire to be President.
"At this late date, after millions of dollars spent, people mysteriously dying, and the jailing of a decorated Army officer–all of whom questioned Obama’s legality–any so called ‘birth certificate’ produced now is nothing more than suspect, and it is more than likely another faked document…a worthless piece of paper just like all of Obama’s so called ‘credentials’."
In other words, there is absolutely no level or amount of evidence Dr. Kate and the rest of the turds floating in her treasonous cesspool will accept.
"We know Obama was born British, is likely a Kenyan citizen, and is Indonesian; we know he was never naturalized as an American citizen"
No, he was born in the US to a US citizen. There was no need to be naturalized, he's by law a natural-born US citizen.
"we know there is no record of his name change from Barry Soetoro to Barack Hussein Obama, II; we know he lied on his Illinois bar form about his previous names; we know he is using a stolen social security number, and that he has multiple social security numbers, and we know that Obama has a forged selective service registration."
No, you *claim* all of those things and ignore any proof that argues against those claims.
"Who does this kind of stuff except an illegal alien?"
Racist (and delusional) much??
"Who commands this kind of silence, and loyalty, but the ‘new world order’ and their intelligence agencies like the CIA?"
28 December - Oh look. The PUMA kitties at HillBuzz are playing birtherstani games.
"I used to think he was listed as “Muslim” on his birth certificate, but I’ve since been convinced that in 1961, when Obama was born, religion wasn’t recorded on a birth certificate. I was born in Ohio in the late 1970s and “Catholic” is written on my birth certificate in several places, so I assumed “Muslim” was written on Obama’s because of his father, who was Muslim, and Islam dictates a son is the religion of his father unless that boy renounces it formally before he is 18. However, a friend of mine who was born in Hawaii prior to 1961 has a daughter who was born in Hawaii in the 1980s…and she sent me copies of her daughter’s and her birth certificate and the two of them don’t have religion anywhere on them. So, that struck down the “Obama is not releasing this because it says ‘Muslim’ on it” theory."
Which is something that the birtherstani have been told repeatedly. And they refuse to believe.
So what did you find instead to hate?
"David Axelrod is a political genius for ginning up the “Birther Movement” and planting conspiracy theories out there that say the reason Obama is not releasing his birth certificate is because he was not born in the US. I know for a fact Axelrod did this, and it is one of the smartest political moves in history. It is Alinsky elevated to its purest form, because it completely neutralized all criticism of Obama for not releasing the birth certificate by painting anyone who talks about the issue as a lunatic. Just watch: the second anyone asks WHY Obama won’t just show the world his birth certificate people call that person a lunatic, a “Birther”, and claim they sit around with tinfoil hats on all day listening to conspiracy theories."
Never mind he DID release it - and the conspiracy theories started from there.
"(1) His race is listed as Caucasian-Arab on the birth certificate, not as “black” the way he needs it to be to get away with everything he gets away with in life. Obama’s whole schtick is that he is black, not a Caucasian-Arab. His mother was full Caucasian, and his father was only 1/4 black. Most likely, his father was listed as “African Arab” on the race line below his name on that 1961 birth certificate. When the child’s line was completed, it would have been recorded as an amalgam of mother and father, according to how they recorded mixed race births in 1961. A full-blood Caucasian mother plus a father who is 3/4 Arab and 1/4 black would result in a child that is 50% Caucasian/near 50% Arab, but with a little black in him.
That’s not what Obama’s narrative needed to be to get him where he wanted to go (hence, the necessity of him marrying someone like Michelle Antoinette, who gave him street cred in the black community)."
Oh wow. Batshit racist much??
"(2) Obama’s adoption by Lolo Soetero in the 1970s complicated the birth certificate and the White House is afraid it can’t explain that to the American people. The few school records that have been released for Obama are from his school in Indonesia where it was recorded that Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetero, his mother’s second husband, and he went by Barry Soetero in Indonesia. "
*Yawn* No proof of adoption has ever been provided.
"(3) Barack Obama Sr. is not Obama’s real father. This is the craziest of the remaining theories, because the COLB issued by Hawaii lists this man as Obama’s father. Perhaps the original birth certificate said ‘Father unknown’ and Obama’s mother only later filled in BHO Sr. This weirdness would have been embarrassing for Obama to explain, so that could be why the White House refuses to release the birth certificate. Some people speculate that Frank Marshall, who was married at the time, was really Obama’s father and that BHO Sr. was used as a scapegoat because he lived in Kenya and had children all over the world with a half dozen different women, so what did it matter if Stanley Dunham wrote his name down for her son, too? This could all be possible, but it’s the least likely scenario."
Andy Martin, is that you?
28 December - At the Pest and eFail, Charles Kerchner gives the birtherstani party line about Lakin.
"I guess they were there because the word was out that we could be “potentially dangerous;” the constitutionalists were pre-labeled as potentially violent. So they had a contingent of these people in camo in the room all the time, and at some point I noticed there were always three of them sitting behind me. Also Rev. Manning and the two members of his congregation who accompanied him to the court martial always had a couple of these bailiffs or constables wearing their camo military uniforms sitting to the left and right of them. It appeared there were keeping an extra close eye on certain attendees because of the false information spread around amongst the bailiffs prior to the court martial that we constitutionalists were potentially violent. "
Gee, you have a group of people hanging around with convicted felons who run fake trials, militia types, and people calling for military coups and the overthrow of a democratically elected president and government. I can't *imagine* why the court might take some special precautions.
"On the third day, Lt. Col. Lakin’s counsel, Neal Puckett, left before the court-martial was over. That surprised me and in my opinion showed a lack of 100% dedication to LTC Lakin’s court martial. He actually made a statement that he had to go to another trial somewhere, catch a plane or whatever. And of course, he had to get the permission of Lt. Col. Lakin to leave early. The court asked Terry also, but Terry was broken in spirit by that time, because Neal Puckett, his defense counsel, did more to destroy the self-esteem and morale of Terry Lakin on the stand than any member of the prosecution. I think that Neal ambushed him. If you read the statement released on Puckett’s website, he says he “surprised” Terry with his method of defense."
Jensen didn't leave much to defend, and I think Puckett was trying to get Lakin to throw himself on the mercy of the court.
"I had driven down from Pennsylvania with a Vietnam combat veteran friend who had wanted to be there, too. When we arrived at Ft. Meade, I went to the base to see if there was going to be lodging available on the base for me because it would have been considerably less cost, as a retired military officer, than staying outside in commercial lodging."
Spending money for newspaper ads vomiting forth racist conspiracy theories about Obama is good. Spending money for a motel, not so much....
"He has a nice home in the suburbs, nothing pretentious; just an ordinary middle American home, about 35 miles from Ft. Meade. He has a beautiful wife and three lovely children, a Christian home, very nice kids who were very well-behaved."
Interesting how Kerchner has to say "a Christian home", like that had some special significance.
"I just thought it was God’s hand at work there to put us two together, the two most recently prominent figures in the Obama eligibility saga, he as a defendant, and I as a plaintiff."
(Bold face from original)
"We were like two kindred souls there; we understood each other; we could look at each other face-to-face, and we knew we both were standing for the truth and for the Constitution, so help us, God. We both believe in God and that what we are doing is right."
And again, the religious imagery. I suspect Kerchner is in the "Obama is a stealth Muslim" crowd. And it's funny how they see the hand of God in all of this, yet they never seem to win...
"They played the whole thing, but they used it in a way that was detrimental to Terry Lakin to make Terry Lakin look bad and that he planned it all and was a pawn of the “birther” movement."
Gee, maybe because he did plan it and was a pawn of the birther movement??
"Darrell Issa has already said that they aren’t going to consider the birth certificate, which is a necessary but not sufficient part of this. But they should at least start with it. If they don’t, the only thing left is John F. Kennedy’s words and the Declaration of Independence: “Those who make peaceful resolution (to paraphrase; he used the word “revolution”) impossible make violent resolution inevitable.” This is not going to stand with the people forever. It’s going to boil over at some point, and what they thought they were preventing – violence in the inner cities if he were properly vetted and revealed he was not eligible – will result in and cause far, far, far worse by what they have done by corrupting every institution and system of our government to protect an ineligible man, a phony, the usurper-in-chief, Mr. Zero."
Ah, so Kerchner is in the "violent overthrow" camp.
"MRS. RONDEAU: And you are by no means a “fringe lunatic conspiracy theorist.”
CDR KERCHNER: No, we’re not a fringe."
*LAUGH* This may be the most honest thing Kerchner has ever said. He said not a fringe - and didn't dispute the "lunatic conspiracy theorist" part.
*chuckles with delight* He's right too....
"The eligibility issue with Obama is not going away. It is getting stronger. More and more people are aware of this issue every month. The truth will come out some day. The usurper-in-chief Obama and his Marxist/Socialist cronies out to destroy our constitution and country will be exposed some day. LTC Lakin will be vindicated and Obama will be totally exposed in history for the phony and fraud he is. And hopefully at that point Obama will be the one put in prison along with many, many of the people guilty of helping him perpetrate the fraud in the first place and of misprision of a felony in allowing this to go on this long."
Haven't we been hearing the "any day now" chant for over two years now???
And Padawan Pauly is still spouting his tired theory that citizenship is only transmitted though the father.,
"Jedi Pauly says:
Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11:09 AM
Article II “natural born Citizen” means one who is born as a Sovereign American U.S. citizen. It is a fact of nature that sovereign political rights are Natural Rights that are inherited from males at birth, not females or soil, therefore you must have a U.S..citizen father who creates you in order to inherit your sovereign political right to qualify for the office of President. It is just that simple and obvious. Obama did not have a U.S. citizen father who created him if we accept what he has publicly announced as who his father is, therefore he cannot qualify. End of story.
It is astounding that the American People have lost sight and understanding of their own natural sovereign political status and rights to such a degree that they cannot accept the simple and obvious explanation that I have just given here."
Maybe because it's a load of steaming dingo kidneys??
" I have repeatedly explained this simple fact of nature and U.S. Law to Mario Apuzzo, and Mr. Kerchner and his associates, and Orly Taitz, and Phil Berg, and the population at large and they all refuse to accept the natural reality and facts of law just described or to change their wrong ideas."
Which may be a great indication as to just how insane Padawan Pauly's theory is.
29 December - An update in the birther case "Allen v 'Soetoro'"
"12/29/2010 46 STIPULATION of Dismissal of Remaining Claims by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, United States Department of Homeland Security, United States Department of State. (Bowen, Brigham) (Entered: 12/29/2010)"
(scribd link here)
"Pursuant to Fed. R. Civ. P. 41(a)(1)(A)(ii), the parties hereby stipulate to dismissal of the remaining claims in this action, with prejudice
I, Brigham J. Bowen, by signing below, certify pursuant to Paragraph II(C)(3),District of Arizona ECF Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual (April 3, 2006) that the content of this stipulation is acceptable to all registered signatories required to sign it"
29 December - The Borowitz Report pokes fun at the birtherstani.
"Speaking to reporters in Kailua, Birther leader Orly Taitz said that Hawaii cannot be considered part of the United States “unless it can produce an authentic statehood certificate.”
Ms. Taitz said that she did a thorough title search on the islands and has concluded that rather than being a U.S. state, “the islands of Hawaii appear to be colonies of Kenya.”
“That means that everyone born in Hawaii is legally not an American but a Kenyan,” she said, “which I find ironic.”
The Birthers’ contention that Hawaii is not a state promptly drew support from one leading Republican politician, former Governor Sarah Palin.
“To be honest, it’s something I’ve always kind of wondered about,” Gov. Palin said. “Hawaii just isn’t an American-sounding name, like Alaska.”
29 December - From Scientific American's podcast of 10 August 2009
"The so-called birthers can’t accept that President Obama is really a natural-born American citizen. Part of what’s behind this seemingly irrational belief may lie in what’s called implicit social cognition—the deep-rooted assumptions we all carry around, and may act on without realizing it.
Harvard’s Mahzarin Banaji studies such implicit cognition. Last fall she talked to journalists at the annual conference of the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing about research into bias against Asian-Americans. “So we thought, what if we picked Asians who are very well known to be American. What about Connie Chung? Are they going to be seen as less American than, let’s say, Hugh Grant? And so we thought this was a bizarre study to do but we did it anyway.”
Amazingly, white Americans did see a white European like Hugh Grant as being somehow more American than the Asian-American Connie Chung. And similar research in 2008 found that whites thought of ex-British Prime Minister Tony Blair as somehow more American than Obama. So the mental framework to believe that Obama is foreign probably was, to use a health care term, a preexisting condition."
And in comments:
"92. gennai in reply to Geezer 11:44 PM 8/17/09
The posters here who do not believe Obama is an American citizen are not interested in the evidence (the real birth certificate, the newspaper announcements, the law etc.). You can show them evidence until the cows come home and they won't accept it. They are part of a movement that has endorsed a fake alternate reality -- global warming isn't happening, US healthcare is not twice as expensive for the same results as in most other wealthy nations, "Europe" is a living hell, free markets can solve every single problem on the planet, social security is the gulag, etc. They don't question what Rush /Fox News tells them. Just as the "Swift Boaters" during the 2004 election couldn't accept Navy documentation demolishing their lies. The sad thing is that the "birther" lies are disseminated by people who know better to the ignorant they want to manipulate. And I have been at health care "town halls" where the right wingers in attendance were saying that anyone who spoke English with an accent or was not white was not "American".
These folks are more out of touch with reality than the Communist Party in the late Soviet Union was, and their lies are just as pernicious. Let's call a spade a spade. Disagree with Obama's policies, but he was born in the USA and is a citizen. Btw, one of the "birther" posters here seems to believe that Hawaii is not part of the US. That's good for some laughs."
29 December - Ah Dr. Orly, the gift that keeps on giving (malware and redirect warning)
So looks like Dr. Orly might have a failed Senate campaign to go along with her failed Secretary of State campaign. Is she actually going to run, or just file a lawsuit demanding that the seat be given her??
And didn't Charles E. Lincoln, III ALSO state he was going to run for Feinstein's Senate seat as well??
Oooh, who has the popcorn.....
29 December - The Chicago Sun-Times comments on Gov. Abercrombie's quest against the birtherstani.
"A friend of Obama’s parents since before the future president was born, Abercrombie is looking for ways to release more information about Obama’s birth in an attempt to quiet the birthers.
Hawaiian law prohibits the public release of a certified birth certificate. Obama has released what the law allows, a “certification of live birth.” The state’s health director has said she verified the original birth record, and the birth was announced in two newspapers in 1961.
In general, we prefer to ignore illogical conspiracy theorists for fear of giving credence to their claims. But because the birthers refuse to give up, Abercrombie is right to fight back. He says, by the way, that this is coming from him, not Obama.
“He can take sticks and stones,” Abercrombie told the New York Times. “But there’s no reason on Earth to have the memory of his parents insulted by people whose motivation is solely political.”
Without a sane voice speaking up, the nattering continues, casting doubt on Obama in a way that is both insidious and destructive. "
And it looks like Joseph Farah of World Nut Daily is annoyed by the article.
11:14 PM on December 29, 2010
I'm having trouble understanding why the editorial writers of the Chicago Sun-Times, a paper I once wrote for, would so maliciously and irresponsibly misrepresent the facts of this story."
By which he means "reported the facts fairly and accurately". A concept World Nut Daily is completely unaware of, in much the same way they're unaware of "truth" or "journalistic ethics".
30 December - Does Dr. Orly ever even notice the crap falling from her mouth? (malware and redirect warning)
(Bold face mine)
“Faux news” and closet Socialist Megyn Kelly discuss eligibility, but never invited any eligibility attorney on the show, same pattern of journalistic malpractice and aiding and abetting in elections fraud. Kelly is a licensed atorney. Please, check in what state is she licensed and report it to the disciplinary board of the bar of that state. She never provided truthful info on SSN and other documents. As an attorney she should have known better than that.
Posted on | December 30, 2010"
Well, ethics violations and lying about "SSN and other documents" never stopped you, did it?
30 December - The Shreveport Times writes about Lakin.
"If Lakin felt strongly about this issue, he could have resigned his commission, joined his "birther" group, moved to Hawaii, opened an office and tried to practice medicine where he could have access to the hospital where Obama says he was born. Instead, Lakin will serve six months in a military prison, lose his rank and forfeit 17 years and benefits of active service.
Lakin claimed to have done some soul searching about whether to disobey orders. Well, evidently not enough. With only three years to full retirement and a strong chance at a promotion, he could have run for Congress and really expressed himself about the next presidential election. Now his complaints about taking orders from a military police guard who happens to be a private will fall on deaf ears."
30 December - World Nut Daily writes about the upcoming dismissal of Hollister v "Soetoro" at the Supreme Court level.
"Another legal challenge to Barack Obama's eligibility to occupy the White House has been docketed for consideration before the U.S. Supreme Court, and the plaintiff this time formally is asking that the justices appointed by Obama, the "respondent" in the case, be excluded.
"There is a widespread perception among 'conservative' media figures such as Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin that judicial appointments have been made by the respondent Obama with the expectation of favors in return. This has combined with a campaign of ridicule and 'unthinkability' on these serious issues led by the press spokesman of the respondent Obama among others," said a "motion to recuse" submitted by attorneys working on behalf of Gregory S. Hollister, a retired military officer.
The motion cites Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, both of whom were awarded the lifetime tenure positions on probably the most influential court in the world by Obama."
And let's see how that works.
Oh, and look at this one.
"It also reminded the justices of the verbal attack they sustained from Obama at last year's State of the Union address, when Obama publicly criticized their ruling in an election case.
"We would think that this is particularly the case in light of the historically unprecedented attack on this court's determination to uphold the constitutional rule of law engaged in by the respondent Obama during the State of the Union Address that he gave in January of 2010. It is as if he and those working with him and backing him believe that this court and the federal judiciary can be manipulated and intimidated in the manner that investigations have revealed as having occurred in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.
"We would suggest that this court should particularly avoid the appearance of favoritism as overriding the rule of law based upon the Constitution," the motion said."
Sounds like they're trying to bias the court in their favour. Cute.
And I suspect I'm going to have to add Laurence Elgin to my birther lawyer list.
"Laurence Elgin, one of those coordinating the efforts to reveal the problems with following the Constitution in the United States, also announced a new organization and website, the Constitutional Rule of Law Fund, to pursue cases that defend the U.S. legal system and the Constitution.
He told WND that the Hollister case, throughout the district and appellate court levels, never was denied standing, a major hurdle that has torpedoed many of the other eligibility disputes to rise to the level of court opinions.
The pleadings submitted to the court, compiled by longtime attorney John D. Hemenway, cite the incredible importance of the claims that Obama, in fact, failed to qualify for the office.
"If proven true, those allegations mean that every command by the respondent Obama and indeed every appointment by respondent Obama, including the appointment of members [Kagan and Sotomayor] of this and every other court, may be only de facto but not de jure [by right of law]," states the pleading.
"Further, his signature on every law passed while he occupies the Oval Office is not valid if he is not constitutionally eligible to occupy that office de jure," it continued.
"Thus, it is not hyperbole to state that the entire rule of law based on the Constitution is at issue. Moreover, it would indicate that the respondent Obama ran for the office of president knowing that his eligibility was at the very least in question," it continued."
Funny how the courts kept saying "no" then. And also funny how Berg's involvement in this case has mysteriously vanished from the birtherstani records.....
"At the time of the birth of the respondent Obama in 1961 as alleged, Congress had … the Immigration and Naturalization Act of 1952. Under the applicable provision of that act … for the respondent Obama to have been a naturalized citizen of the United States at birth, were he born of one U.S. citizen parent and one alien parent, as he has alleged throughout his political career he was, his mother would have had to have been continuously resident in the United States for a period of 10 years preceding the date of his birth and, most importantly, she would have had to have resided continuously for five years preceding his birth in the United State after she had turned 14 years old. Since she was only 18 when Obama was born, this condition was clearly not fulfilled," the arguments said."
Except that whole pesky "Born in the United States" thing.
"It also raised the suggestion that there are sound arguments to the effect that a "natural born citizen," a requirement the Constitution imposes on the president but not other federal officials, is someone born to two citizen parents, and Obama himself has documented that his father never was a citizen of the U.S."
The Supreme Court already told the de Vattelists "no" once before.
30 December - Oh look. Anti-Semite Internet Outhouse Andy Martin has his presidential campaign site up.
"BARACK OBAMA One of Obama's most respected critics and opponents"
Maybe by the birthers and other delusional dolts, maybe. By those in the reality-based community, not so much.
A lot of the site is recycled from his failed Senate campaign. To the point he's not even bothering to change the language.
30 December - At the Pest and eFail, Jeff Lichter wants to be called something other than "birther"
"It is my intention here to suggest that those of us who believe Barack Obama is not a natural born Citizen no longer employ the term “birther” or even repeat it, but always substitute the replacement term of either “constitutional natural born birther” or if that is too long then just “natural born birther.” That would hopefully elicit either the silent or spoken question in the minds of others as to what the heck is a natural born birther? We must start defining the issue correctly on our terms and get the message out that the place of birth is not the dominant issue, that even if one is born in the United States that does not necessarily of and by itself make one a natural born Citizen eligible to serve as the President of the United States."
Well, we could go with the more classic "idiot". Or "dolt", "cretin", or "numbskull" for that matter. "Pig-Ignorant" also could be used, as well as "asshat".

They can call us anything they want to, but they CAN’T PROVE US WRONG!!?!?
We have proved them wrong on many points!"
Funny, I've spent over two years proving them wrong time and time again. And have yet to see them prove ANYTHING they claim to be correct.

I say it is time to call him for what he really is, an illegal undocumented worker with a stolen I.D."
30 December - Dr. Orly seems to be on a tear. (Malware and redirect warning)
(Bold Face mine)
"Chris Matthews “Obama, show your birth certificate” is still among the most popular clips on the Internet right after Lorena Bobbit, which got me thinking, whether it is a sign from above for the type of punishment Obama deserves for defrauding the Nation and persecuting civil rights attorneys like me and war heroes like Lakin. (I am just wondering)

Only in Dr. Orly's sickest fantasies......
31 December - Looks like Dr. Kate is an equal-opportunity dingbat.
" Question: What do Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, and Obama have in common?
Answer: The New World Order."
What, the Gnomes of Zurich and the Bavarian Illuminati get no love??
"George H.W. Bush
GHW Bush, aka, George Scherff, was the son of a supposed U.S. Senator Prescott Bush who was intimately involved in Hitler’s rise to power, and after the war, in Operation Paperclip, recruited Nazi scientists and brought them to the United States. "
Someone needs their meds adjusted.
Clinton’s major NWO activities included NAFTA, the use of islamo terrorists in the first World Trade Center bombing (an FBI operation), and the undoing of the Glass-Steagall Act which among many things regulated the financial services industry. Clinton, Robert Rubin and Goldman-Sachs buddy Lawrence Summers were architects of this deregulation which set up the United States for a financial meltdown to occur only a few years later. Clinton in my view also initiated the beginning of blaming Americans for government-sponsored ‘false flag’ events. Remember Oklahoma City, Ruby Ridge, and Waco?"
Yes we remember them - and the right-wing, racist, and religious nutcases behind such. Only the terminally delusional or paranoid would think the government was behind such.
Which is why Dr. Kate is drinking up this bilge water with a straw.
Look at Bush’s record: 911, the Patriot Act (ready within 3 weeks of 911), Department of Homeland Security, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the economic implosion terrorist attack on America in the fall of 2008. Bush and Cheney I am sure know of Obama’s ineligibility, but hey, if he’s part of the same family of NWO criminals, what did it matter to them?"
Funny, where were most of the birtherstani when GW Bush and the GOP-controlled House and Senate were passing things like the Patriot Act and the idiotic "Department of Homeland Security"????
"Bush’s brain Karl Rove worked collaboratively with Donna Brazille to ensure the election of Obama and the defeat of Hillary Clinton"
Bitter PUMA much??
"It is no surprise that Obama is a creature of the New World Order, having been ‘found’ and groomed long ago by clearly the CIA, but perhaps multiple intelligence agencies controlled by the banksters, hucksters, and cronies of the bilderbergers, trilateral commission, rockefellers, and rothschilds. Obama completes the islamo-terrorist connection…from his past history and muslim background. It provides both an ‘in’ to America and the White House, as well as masks the true intent of the NWO which is to destroy American sovereignty. Brzezinski was Obama’s mentor and was likely the impetus for Obama’s travels to Pakistan in 1981."
Someone really needs their meds adjusted and a brand new "I love me" jacket with nice wrap-around sleeves.
31 December - One of Dr. Orly's favourite media sources, Russia Today, gets looked at by the Southern Poverty Law Center in this Fall 2010 report.
"Recently, however, the Kremlin-financed television channel has devoted considerable airtime not only to coverage that makes Russia look good, but to coverage that makes the United States look bad. Over the past year and a half, Russia Today has reported with boosterish zeal on conspiracy theories popular in the resurgent "Patriot" movement, whose adherents typically advocate extreme antigovernment doctrines. Its slickly packaged stories suggest that a legitimate debate is under way in the United States about who perpetrated the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, for instance, and about President Obama's eligibility for high office. "
And isn't it funny how "Patriots" like Dr. Orly and her other birthers love them this news source??
"The channel has also reported on the false notion that Obama was born outside the United States and therefore is ineligible for the presidency. The channel in March interviewed Dr. Orly Taitz, an émigré from the former Soviet republic of Moldova and a chief proponent of the "birther" movement who gained notoriety in August 2009 by unveiling Obama's supposed Kenyan birth certificate — a document quickly exposed as a laughable forgery — and also has made a whole raft of other completely unsupported claims. Though the host noted that major American media outlets have refuted birther claims, he did not state that Obama has made public his birth certificate, even when Taitz asserted that "Obama himself owed allegiance to three other nations." Taitz has made other appearances on Russia Today."
Dr. Orly isn't the only birther getting some love from Russia Today.
"In addition, a Nov. 25, 2009, Russia Today story reported that James David Manning, the black pastor of a Harlem church, not only sees "pure evil" in Obama — but also contends he's not a U.S. citizen. The story noted Manning's views are controversial, but concluded, "Pastor Manning remains undeterred in his rhetoric, despite the criticism of his community." (Manning is apparently a friend of Taitz, joining her for a tiny 2009 protest in front of Fox News' offices in New York after Fox's Bill O'Reilly called Taitz "a nut.")"
Not to mention charmers like:
"Longtime militia organizer Jim Stachowiak — a controversial figure even in Patriot circles — also is a regular guest on Russia Today. Earlier this year, the Georgia-based radio host appeared on the network to defend Charles Dyer, a prominent associate of the Patriot group Oath Keepers until Dyer was charged with child sex abuse in January. "We're standing by Dyer," said Stachowiak, who wore a "Don't Tread on Me" hat and referred to the ATF (the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) as the "American Terrorism Force." "
"Even white nationalist Jared Taylor has found a platform on Russia Today. On Feb. 8 of this year, when Taylor participated in a "CrossTalk" discussion of whether Obama is a post-racial president, host Lavelle introduced him as an author and editor of American Renaissance journal but made no mention of his blatantly racist views. (In 2005, for instance, Taylor wrote in his journal: "Blacks and whites are different. When blacks are left entirely to their own devices, Western civilization — any kind of civilization — disappears.") Russia Today was also the only major media outlet to interview Taylor after multiple hotels cancelled his magazine's biannual conference in February. It did not seek comment from the activists behind the campaign to shut down the conference, which brings together prominent white supremacists and academic racists from the United States and abroad."
Charming people, eh?
Happy 2011 people. May you and yours have a health, happy, and safe New Years.
And for the birthers, may you continue to receive the ongoing fail your actions warrant.
See you all next year.
