So Much for First and Second Amendment rights....

So let's see. Rush believes that "liberals", (by which I suspect he means anyone who disagrees with him), should have our guns taken away from us. Also we shouldn't be allowed to own computer keyboards or typewriters, word processors or use e-mail. AND should have their right to freedom of speech taken away. And the result would be a "sane, calm, civil, fun-loving society".

Most of his actions are condoned by his fans, saying he’s ‘an entertainer’, however, this has no redeeming qualities of entertainment or humor. If our de facto leader said this, Conservatives would be buying ammo until they’re sold out of stock.

"Citizen" Larry Wells stamps his bigfeet and demands that someone remove the scary black man from the White House. In the realm of "the pig-ignorant leading the pig-ignorant, James Manning interviews Swift Boat liar Jerome Corsi. Arizona's Secretary of State may wish he had more sane lawmakers in his state. Dr. Orly pimps an almost seven month old video clip demanding that the military take some action to force the removal of Obama from office. Meanwhile, she goes off on a nitrous-fueled jihad against anyone who dares report anything like "facts" or the truth to her.

Swift Boat Liar Jerome Corsi makes crap up again. The Pest and eFail demands to know why the new Speaker of the House hasn't removed Obama from office yet. Dr. Orly tries to get her critics fired. This might take a while. Bill Bowman comments on Dr. Orly questionable tactics, to which she replies by proving his point. Dr. Kate doesn't like it when someone in the military actually expresses an opinion about Lakin that calls him for what he is - a "blue falcon". Dr. Orly's coming up with knighting ceremonies for the kingdom of birtherstan. And more about Andrea Shea King's creative editing.

And what does he base this hissy fit on? A "legal notice" he sent out on 30 October 2008, informing North Carolina officials of Philip Berg's original lawsuit.

"Citizen Wells, a citizen of the State of North Carolina, demands that the NC State Board of Elections obtain proof of eligibility from Barack Obama or the Democrat Party in the form of a vault copy of a birth certificate or pledge of allegiance to the US, and in the absence of proof, remove Barack Obama from the ballot and request that the DNC provide a replacement candidate per NC Law.

Citizen Wells further requests that the citizens of NC contact the NC Board of elections and demand that they uphold the US Constitution and NC Law.

Furthermore, all NC officials and election officials will be held accountable if a non eligible presidential candidate is allowed to remain on the ballot. The severity of the consequences will increase if the ineligible candidate receives votes in the general election and Electoral College. Many voters have been disenfranchised by Barack Obama being on the ballot in the primary election. In today's dispatches, it's Birther Bill-o-rama, with several states coming up with something at least semi-sane and possibly Constitutional, and others very openly ignoring the Constitution and all but writing a "No Barack Hussain Obama on OUR ballot, thank you" version for their statehouses, with Nebraska going full-tilt de Vattelist to boot. "Ulsterman" makes stuff up. Lame Cherry is sexist, racist, and an all-around waste of DNA. Dr. Orly submits a reply in CEL3's lawsuit that pushes the irony boundary. Mike Evans is still trying to backtrack. Someone else points out that whole silly "Full Faith and Credit" clause of the US Constitution. World Nut Daily remembers they're supposed to be religious bigots as well and tries to correct their mistake. And Dr. Kate shows a basic lack of knowledge about the US Constitution, since she can't seem to find a "no uppity darkies allowed and give everything to the Republicans" clause despite her best efforts.

25 January - The latest fiction from "Ulsterman".

In today's dispatches, looks like Hemenway is going to demand that the Supreme Court reconsider their "no" to him. Dr. Kate's entries are starting to look like an extended tantrum from a toddler in dire need of a nap. Neil Sankey is demanding that someone take them seriously, damnit!! Birther Bill 2.0 in Arizona gets snickered at elsewhere. Lame Cherry plunges into the sewer and proceeds to dig deeper. Pam Barnett is spinning other conspiracies as well. And Mike Evans is going "oops, my bad, I misspoke" to the press.

25 January - Looks like John Hemenway is going to take a page from Dr. Orly's book and appeal his Supreme Court denial to the Supreme Court. World Nut Daily provides the podium.

"Lawyers working for a retired military officer who is challenging Barack Obama's eligibility to be president say the U.S. Supreme Court appears to have broken its own rules by failing to respond to a pending recusal motion, thus conceding the point and possibly requiring a new conference vote among the seven remaining justices, including four mostly conservative, on whether the high court will hear arguments over Obama's legitimacy.

Laurence Elgin, one of the experts working with the Constitutional Rule of Law Fund and website, told WND that the issue arose in the case brought by retired Col. Greg Hollister, who is represented by attorney John Hemenway.

The lawyers in the case filed a motion before the U.S. Supreme Court seeking the recusal of justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor, since both were appointed to their lifetime posts by Obama and clearly would have an interest in the dispute if Obama was found to be ineligible and his actions, including his appointments, void."

This actually sounds more like Berg's trick with his first case - claim a victory by default when none exists. I suspect the Supreme Court themselves has a differing viewpoint on if they "conceded the point".

25 January - Dr. Kate continues her "HE'S NOT THE PRESIDENT!! HE'S NOT! HE'S NOT! HE'S NOT! HE'S NOT! HE'S NOT! HE'S NOT! WAHHHHH!!!!" tantrum.

26 January - The New York Daily News covers Arizona's "Birther Bill 2.0"

"This new legislation is extremely specific, seeming to target each of the issues "birthers" have continued to raise regarding President Obama.

Members of the fringe group who believe Obama is not eligible to be commander in chief have argued he was not born in Hawaii, has dual citizenship, or is simply not a "natural born citizen."

Burges' HB 2544 would address each of these concerns by requiring any and all candidates to provide "an original long-form birth certificate that includes the date and place of birth, the names of the hospital and the attending physician and signatures of the witnesses in attendance."

26 January - Dr. Orly's campaign manager and plaintiff, Pam Barnett, has been branching out into birther blogging. And it seems other conspiracies too.

26 January - I see that Mike Evans is now walking back his claim that Gov. Abercrombie told him there was no birth certificate in the state records.

Plus Two Years......

So we're at the midpoint of Obama's first term in office.

Despite the confident predictions of the birthers who said he wouldn't even be inaugurated. Despite the claims that he would be removed "any day now". Despite tea party rallies and Dr. Orly's "Obama will be removed in 30 days" claim. Despite conspiracy theories and fake grand juries and fake trials and questionable redefinition of the Constitution. Despite pleas for military coups and armed revolts. Despite a constant string of "No" from the courts. Despite pleas for the Congress or Senate to do something - anything.

Despite all that, Obama is not only still in office, but has an approval rating a bit better than Reagan or Clinton was at the midpoint of their first terms.

Look at some of the birther lawyers who held their hopes so early on. Berg seems to be heading to obscurity, with most of his energies taken up with the birtherstani civil war. Kreep is still working on appeals. Dr. Orly is playing attention whore for anyone who will pay attention. Stephen Pidgeon is writing self-published books about Obama's occult connections None of them are doing much legally anymore.

In over two years, the birthers have yet to present any credible evidence. Any facts to back up their claims. Anything to prove their points. Their much vaunted "experts" have almost all been unmasked, and found to be far less than they claimed to be. The more evidence comes in, the more their claims are disproven. All they have now are a threadbare quilt of lies and myths and disproven claims that they have repeated to themselves over and over again in hopes they can convince anyone else.

And in some cases, I suspect they're trying to convince themselves.

Most of the PUMA boards have closed or dwindled down to a couple of closely censored echo chambers. Most of the PUMAs themselves have either been reborn as right-wing tea party types or have faded off into the distance. Most of the birthers that replaced them rarely venture out of their own echo chambers, and when they do, the immediate deluge of facts and evidence to refute them usually sends them scurrying back to those echo chambers.

And it's interesting to note that the latest targets of the birthers are those sites that have been spending time debunking their claims. Witness the current tempest in a teapot about PolitiJab and The Fogbow. Obama Conspiracy, Native and Natural Born Citizenship, this blog here, Oh For Goodness Sake!, Crazy Internet People, Barackryphal, all of those sites have come under recent harassment and attack from the birthers. That tells me one thing.

We've won. And they know it.

I don't see the birthers stopping anytime soon. Doubtless there will be some die-hards picketing at the opening of the Obama Presidential Library sometime in 2020 or so. But at this point all the birthers are doing is chewing old soup over and over again, vomiting forth only tiny changes to long-since disproven lies and claims. They don't seem to be offering anything new or different.

Not even their frothing hate that Obama is still president is new or different. Except to underscore that despite their stamping of feet and childish cries of "He's NOT the President, He's NOT! He's NOT! He's NOT!!!", Obama is still the democratically elected President of the United States.

And the birthers are still a political punchline at best.

Today's dispatches has World Nut Daily trying to dust off Tim Adams and his debunked claims. Arizona doubles down on the dumb and comes up with an even more unconstitutional "birther bill" than before. Politico reports the White House thinks birthers are not rational. (I'm expecting the story that the sun rises in the east any day now). Some of the inbred primates at "Citizen" Larry Wells are even more nuts than usual. Dr. Orly screwed up her computers again, and is pissed that the House and Senate plans to be seated in a bipartisan manner. And Stephen Pidgeon branches out from his usual crapping on the practice of law, into crapping on theology, penning a conspiracy nutter's wet dream.

24 January - I guess that since World Nut Daily has no problems with lying about what Gov. Abercrombie said, then they figured they would dust off another liar, namely Tim Adams, the former elections clerk temp.

"Former Hawaii elections clerk Tim Adams has now signed an affidavit swearing he was told by his supervisors in Hawaii that no long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate existed for Barack Obama Jr. in Hawaii and that neither Queens Medical Center nor Kapi'olani Medical Center in Honolulu had any record of Obama having been born in their medical facilities."

Now remember that the Elections Office in that state has already stated - repeatedly - that they don't have access to those databases. And neither of those hospitals could give that information out due to HIPPA.

"Adams was employed at the City and County of Honolulu Elections Division from May 2008 through September 2008."

And it seems funny that he would leave a couple months before the election ended.

"During the course of my employment," Adams swears in the affidavit , "I became aware that many requests were being made to the City and County of Honolulu Elections Division, the Hawaii Office of Elections, and the Hawaii Department of Health from around the country to obtain a copy of then-Senator Barack Obama's long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate."

*Maybe* towards the end of said employment.

"Senior officers in the City and County of Honolulu Elections Division told me on multiple occasions that no Hawaii long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate existed for Senator Obama in the Hawaii Department of Health," Adams' affidavit reads, "and there was no record that any such document had ever been on file in the Hawaii Department of Health or any other branch or department of the Hawaii government."

And again, Elections officials would not have access to those databases, so there's no reason they would say anything of the sort.

Adams is lying.

"My supervisor came and told me, 'Of course, there's no birth certificate. What? You stupid,'" Adams said. "She usually spoke well, but in saying this she reverted to a Hawaiian dialect. I really didn't know how to respond to that. She said it and just walked off. She was quite a powerful lady."

Cute use of pidgin there.

"We called the two hospitals in Honolulu: Queens and Kapi'olani," Adams stressed. "Neither of them have any records that Barack Obama was born there."

They wouldn't have answered that question anyway - HIPPA.

"My basic assumption is that he wasn't born there," Adams said. "Certifications of Live Birth were given to people who were born at home, or to people who were born overseas and whose parents brought them back to the islands. If his parents were U.S. citizens, or if one parent was a U.S. citizen, as was the case with Obama, the family would apply for a Hawaiian birth certificate when the parents came back from overseas. That's normally how you would have gotten on [a Certification of Live Birth] in the 1960s."

And under state law, those certificates would have been marked with the person's actual birthplace, not Honolulu, Hawaii.

"WND has confirmed with Glen Takahashi, elections administrator for the city and county of Honolulu, that Adams was indeed working in their elections offices during the last presidential election.

"We hire temporary workers, because we're seasonal," Takahashi told WND."

They don't mention that Mr. Takahashi also said Adams didn't have the position claimed, nor did they have access to the databases Adams claimed to have had access to.

They also don't mention that Adams made these claims originally on a white nationalist radio show at a white nationalist convention.

"Adams told WND he supported Hillary Clinton during the 2008 presidential election campaign."

PUMA? Or was he doing the "Operation Chaos" thing?

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 22-24 January 2011

In today's dispatches, Gov. Abercrombie discovers that a governor can't ignore privacy laws. And should get swatted for being almost as stupid as a birther. An on-line petition is started to get the GOP leadership to denounce the birthers once and for all. World Nut Daily gets a warm feeling in their pants about Rush Limbaugh. And Walter Fitzpatrick makes it into an Encyclopedia.

Plus, Andrea Shea King is caught in blatant censorship. Dr. Orly gives her vision for 2012, Walter Fitzpatrick uses the Pest and eFail to whine that people didn't do what he demanded and were mean to him. Dr. Kate continues her insanity by making stuff up, while the poodle-brained one seems to be freebasing her poodle's medications. And Pam Geller thinks that every Jewish supporter of Obama should just turn in their membership cards right this very minute.

And still more as the Pest and eFail complains about the "lynching" of inmate Lakin. Funny, he's still alive, so I guess he wasn't really lynched. Pam Geller invokes the shambling undead corpse of TechDude in talking about a story in the PUMA blog "HillBuzz" that rehashes another old myth. And Rep. Eric Cantor shops shy of denouncing birthers.

Then there's a new "White Hat Report. The Pest and eFail comes up with a brand new spin on the "who is Obama's REAL father" game. Lame Cherry continues to show why some people need to be medicated for their own good. Dr. Kate seems to believe that "Constant Birtherstani Failure" somehow means they're winning. And the Pest and eFail parrots (without crediting their source), the made up "wahhh, they're being MEAN to me" claims of Anthony Martin of the fake Examiner.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 20-21 January 2011

Okay, I wasn't going to do an update because, quite frankly, I feel like crap. But when idiots come to call...

Most of the idiots are abuzz over World Nut Daily's misstatememt - well, let's call it for it is, outright lies - over what Hawaiian Governor Neil Abercrombie said to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser. We also have Sam Sewell AND his sockpuppets, and Dr. Kate throws a temper tantrum and demands that Congress remove Obama NOW, and to hell with pesky things like "rule of law"

20 January - ABC News does a report on Gov. Abercrombie's Honolulu Star-Advertiser article

"Officials in Hawaii say they have located President Obama's birth certificate indicating that he was born in the state, but have yet to produce the document at the heart of a long-simmering conspiracy theory.

"Our investigation is showing, it actually exists in the archives written down," Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie told Honolulu's Star-Advertiser.

"What I can do, and all I have ever said, is that I am going to see to it as governor that I can verify to anyone who is honest about it that this is the case," he told the paper.

Abercrombie said the controversy over publicly producing the document "has a political implication for 2012 that we simply cannot have."

It remains unclear if the document found in the archives was Obama's actual long-form birth certificate, which "birther" activists have clamored for, or if it was simply a record that such a document exists. "

Now all the state government can do is verify that such a document exists. Under state and federal privacy laws, they can't do anything more.

In today's dispatches, a 50 point birtherstani talking point, myths, and lies rehash from the Fantasy Tiddlywinks League. Seditionist Neil Turner wants a neil-to-neil chat. Motion to dismiss in the Tea Party / Birther case. More games about Obama's paternity. Theresa Cao does a press release.

Gov. Neil Abercrombie discusses the birtherstani, and Swift Boat liar Jerome Corsi lies about what was said. The Supreme Court tells Hemenway "No". Lame Cherry ups the racist insanity, and their buddy Dr. Kate follows suit.

Fitzpatrick and Swensson are arraigned. Dr. Orly and Anthony Martin of the fake Examiner seem to have their own jihad against birther debunkers. The Pest and eFail fawns over Thersea Cao's religious nuttery. And Wonkette pokes fun at the birthers.

16 January - The Fantasy Tiddlywinks League reposts an article from "The Daily Pen" called "50 Reasons WHY America Should Examine Obama’s Past", which should be titled "50 Lies WE would rather believe than accept that America Voted for a darkie" instead.

"2. The Suddenness of Obama. The American public was essentially made nationally aware of Barack Obama following his 2004 speech at the Democratic National Convention. Obama’s emergence into national politics was not a gradual inception. It was a sudden, covert ascendance to power seemingly assisted by foreign-like forces as an assault on vintage American conscience.

Obama was elected to the U.S. Congress as a Democratic senator from Illinois in November, 2004, after his candidacy was promoted in the state by a vastly corrupt, liberal, Chicago-based political cartel and a conglomeration of burned-out, 1960’s, radicals like Bill Ayers and Madeline Talbott. Then despite his lack of executive experience, in February, 2007, after only two years of serving at the federal level, Obama announced his candidacy for the 2008 Presidential election defeating Hillary Clinton, a 17-year veteran of federal politics and former First Lady, for the Democratic Party Nomination. By all observable metrics, Obama should have been considered nothing but a long shot to contend for the DNC nomination. Instead, he defied these odds and even his own advice when, in 2005, he said, “In order to run for president, a person needs to know what they are getting into…I am not confident I have that experience yet.”

Ooooh, deep dark conspiracy. And look who gets a shout-out!

Half-true. The birther mythoes sprang from a meetup of PUMAs and far-right nutjobs. Case in point, Ron Polland / Polarik originally posted at "Townhall.com", a right-wing site, and the claim that Obama's birth certificate had a middle name of "Muhammed" was from the far right.

There's a lot of PUMA DNA in birtherstan, but it's the result of a drunken tryst between freepers and PUMA.
