Because the birtherstani are all riled up after President Obama went on TV and said "Excuse me while I whip this out" with his long form, I'm going to break today's dispatches into two parts.
In Part 1, we have the tribble mobility scooter's experience with unqualified Ivy Leaguers. The Pest and eFail tries to be funny, and fails. Trump tries to double down some more AND take all the credit to boot.
Profesional seditionist Sharon Rondeau has problems with things like "privacy laws" and "reality. Some backlash against Trump forms. Miki Booth is hellbound to convince anyone - particularly herself - that the same OB/GYN that delivered her son didn't also deliver Obama as well.
We have a history of birtherstan that shows they're far from defunct yet. Swiftboat liar Jerome Corsi breaks his silence to try and sell his obsolete book. More and more of the media is starting to call out the 800 pound gorilla in birtherism - namely racism. Joseph Farah tries to go de Vattel on the air. Meanwhile, Dr. Orly gets some media karma on MSNBC
Walter Fitzpatrick joins the crowd of people claiming to have "forced" Obama into showing his long form, and seems to have this delusion that not only is he still in the military, but he and his friends ARE the military. Leo Berman refuses to accept facts or reality. TexasDarlin and the Daily PUMA make attempts to explain away the long form. TD should have brought Judah Benjamin out of retirement for the attempt.
And we get a sober and moving commentary about how much the birthers have lowered us as a nation.
26 April - Well, Trump seems to know something about unqualified people getting into top schools.
"Leaving aside the fact that Obama, who went on to graduate Harvard Law magna cum laude, seems like he was probably a very good student, Mr. Trump might need a refresher course in how unqualified people actually do manage to get into the prestigious Ivy League Universities .
Let us take, as an example, the story of a student so obviously unqualified, so transparently unworthy, that a book was written about what his admittance into Harvard said about the sorry behavior of supposedly elite colleges.
That student -- that dull, below-average student who somehow made his way into Harvard -- was Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Kushner's father, real estate developer Charles Kushner, bought Jared his Harvard acceptance. It cost him $2.5 million. (Kushner later went to jail for tax evasion and witness tampering, so it was also, technically, dirty money that bought Trump's daughter's husband's entry into the Ivy League.)
Wall Street Journal education writer Daniel Golden's book "The Price of Admission" explores the Kushner donation at length. An official at Kushner's (expensive, private) high school told the author: "There was no way anybody in . . . the school thought he would on the merits get into Harvard. His GPA did not warrant it, his SAT scores did not warrant it. We thought, for sure, there was no way this was going to happen."
But it did.
And that is how things actually work at "elite" schools."
27 April - In an attempt to continue damage control, the Pest and eFail descends into sadistic necrophilic beastiality.
"I am writing to you gentlemen today in regard to breaking news here in the United States, which is that Barack Hussein Obama is not Kenyan-born as has been stated by many of you in Kenya’s Parliament!
Today he released his long-form birth certificate, which clearly shows he was born in Hawaii, not in Mombasa or any other place in Kenya. Mr. Peter Orengo, Kenyan Ambassador to the U.S., has also stated publicly that Mr. Obama was born in Kenya. Indeed it was so stated on your Parliament floor several times and how wonderful it was that Barack Obama, born in Kenya, could become the U.S. President.
Sirs, I implore you to stop the charade of trying to claim Barack Obama as one of your own. You have created a huge controversy by your self-serving remarks. Do you really need the tourism dollars so badly that you would perpetrate the lie that the president of the United States was born in Kenya? I realize that Kenya is a poor country and is struggling economically, but it is unconscionable that you would be the instigator of all this political upheaval over Mr. Obama’s constitutional authority to be our president. Cease and desist in your craven madness to take advantage of the political situation in the U.S. with your lies about Barack Obama’s birthplace! He has now made it public: he was born in Hawaii, not Kenya!
Sirs, I would ask one more thing of you and that is to posthaste issue a retraction that Mr. Obama was born in Kenya, and offer your sincerest apologies to the United States citizens and indeed the world for having perpetrated such a deplorable hoax upon the whole world, but especially upon American citizens."
Yes, the sarcasm and irony genes are missing among the birtherstani.
And look who chimes in.
"One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet says:
Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 4:55 PM
For an United States citizen asking the Kenyan Prime Minister and Honorable Kenyan Members of Parliament to lie is unconscionable.
WE ALL KNOW THAT YOUR LETTER IS SATIRE, but they may not. I hope you added a post-scriptum stating that you’re just having a little bit of fun, and asked them to continue to be proud of one of their own for achieving the Presidency of the United States of America.
There is no need to add that, by having Obama as our President, we, in so doing, trashed our beloved Constitution, and all of the lives lost and sacrifices made in its name has been in vain.
Also, there’s no need to say that their favorite son is destroying America, but since that’s what he was hired to do, he is doing a real bang-up job. Also that he is aiding Muslims in the destruction of Israel, and that the American dollar will soon be on par with the peso.
Also that, anyone with half a brain, can see that America will be under Sharia Law within thirty years, if not sooner. My God, just look at how far England has fallen with the influx of their Muslim hoards in the last ten years.
A Muslim lying in the advancement of Islam is not lying; he is advancing jihad. Obama is continuing to be a good Kenyan and don’t remove that birthplace marker!"
Racist AND pig-ignorant. No wonder he writes for the Pest and eFail.
"johnny says says:

mam — do not jump to conclusions. this document is already believed to be a forgery and a fake for many reasons. this document has to be examined by forenics experts and other people before it can be declared valid. after that the usurpur may be worse off than before. somebody will be going to hawaii to seek verification on this piece of trash. trust but verify."
Sounds like you already made YOUR mind up.
27 April - Trump is doubling down more, and taking all the credit for Obama releasing the long form. Not to mention an ego the size of his combover.
27 April - Professional seditionist Sharon Rondeau still has problems with little concepts like "patient privacy laws."
"This is in response to your email request to Martha Smith. Below is our official statement:
Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women and Children cannot respond to media or other inquiries about President Barack Obama’s medical records or other related documentation. As a health care provider, we are prohibited by Federal privacy laws from providing confidential information without the patient’s specific authorization. Official certificates of birth are issued by the State Department of Health and not Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children.
Interviews will not be granted with hospital officials. Thank you."
To which Rondeau says
"Thank you very much. I wouldn’t think the matter would be private now. Obama has openly stated that he was born at your facility.
However, the Kenyan Parliament says he was born in Kenya.
I am not convinced the document is authentic. If it is not, I do not blame you for hesitating to say anything.
Thank you again."
In other words "I'm a conspiracy minded fruitcake who will harass and insult anyone who doesn't tell me what I want to hear".
*Chuckle* You can almost see the eyes of the staff at Kapi`olani Medical Center for Women & Children rolling their eyes at Rondeau's response.
27 April - Some YouTube backlash against Trump
27 April - Looks like Miki Booth is having major problems accepting the idea that the OB/GYN who delivered her son is the same OB/GYN who delivered Obama....
"The putative president and his enablers have really gone over the line today, Wednesday April, 27, 2011"
By "gone over the line" she means "released more evidence that disproves the birthers bullshit"
"It just goes to show there is a culture of fear and desperation in the house at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue."
By which she means "laugh hysterically at the idiot birthers try to explain this away".
Projection much?
"Oklahoma votes today on SB 91 the presidential certification bill which is expected to pass by a large margin and signed into law by Gov. Mary Fallin. The bill will then automatically become law within 5 days."
And which Obama should have no problems at all meeting the qualifications for if it passes.
"Trump has moved on. He’s not even talking about the birth certificate anymore, he’s bringing up the school records. What does he know about Occidental? Does he know about Columbia too?"
Well, Trump should have the stuff Manning claims you helped send him....
"The birth certificate Obama is flaunting is an obvious fake to any of the millions of people who are on to the treacherous actions of Obama’s push to socialism."
By "obvious fake" she means "directly contradicts what the birthers have been claiming for over two years"
"It is indeed convenient that Dr. David A. Sinclair, who coincidentally was my OB/GYN who delivered my son, Alan, has passed therefore he cannot attest to the fact of obama’s birth. The forgery looks good on the surface but is fraught with problems. "
More like Booth being worried that her OB/GYN may have given her Obama cooties.
"Nelson stated for The Buffalo News on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, “I may be the only person left who specifically remembers his birth. His parents are gone, his grandmother is gone, the obstetrician who delivered him is gone,” said Nelson, referring to Dr. Rodney T. West, who died in February at the age of 98. Here’s the story: Nelson was having dinner at the Outrigger Canoe Club on Waikiki Beach with Dr. West, the father of her college friend, Jo-Anne. Making conversation, Nelson turned to Dr. West and said: “‘So, tell me something interesting that happened this week,’” she recalls.
His response: “Well, today, Stanley had a baby. Now that’s something to write home about.”
The new mother was Stanley (later referred to by her middle name of Ann) Dunham, and the baby was Barack Hussein Obama."
Mind you, Dr. West didn't say "I delivered Stanley's baby", but rather "Stanley had a baby". Pretty thin evidence to hang a forgery claim on, but Miki Booth at this point is more than likely desperate to believe that the same man who handled her baby and her naughty bits isn't the same one who handled baby Obama and his mother's naughty bits.
Think of this article as the written equivalent of Miki Booth bathing in Lysol in hopes she can get the imaginary Obama germs off of her skin, and treat it accordingly.
27 April - At Slate, Dave Weigel does a history of birtherism, and why it's a long way from dead yet.
"...People with too much time on their hands—in other words, the majority of people surfing the Internet for this kind of stuff—were combing the document for proof of forgery.
So Obama did not end birtherism. He did end one era of conspiracy theories about him—the fifth era, by my count. And maybe all he did was make sure the sixth era got started with as loud and embarrassing a bang as possible. If you understand how this started, and who played the biggest roles in elevating it, maybe you can also understand why it's not going to end."
27 April - Swiftboat liar Jerome Corsi breaks his prepublication science to try and claim his upcoming remainder stock is still valid after all.
"The problem since the short-form certificate was released during the 2008 presidential campaign has always been this:
As WND reported, the long-form birth certificates issued by Kapi'olani to the Nordyke twins have certificate numbers lower than the number given Obama, even though the president purportedly was born at the same hospital a day earlier than the Nordykes.
Note, Susan Nordyke, the first twin, was born at 2:12 p.m. Hawaii time Aug. 5, 1961, and was given certificate No. 151 – 61 – 10637, which was filed with the Hawaii registrar Aug. 11, 1961.
Gretchen Nordyke, the second twin, was born at 2:17 p.m. Hawaii time Aug. 5, 1961, and was given certificate No. 151 – 61 – 10638, which was also filed with the Hawaii registrar Aug. 11, 1961.
Yet, according to the Certification of Live Birth displayed by FactCheck.org during the 2008 presidential campaign – and now according to the long-form birth certificate the White House released yesterday – Barack Obama was given a higher certificate number than the Nordykes.
Note, Obama was given certificate No. 151 – 1961 – 10641, even though he was born Aug. 4, 1961, the day before the Nordyke twins, and his birth was registered with the Hawaii Department of Health registrar three days earlier, Aug. 8, 1961."
Well, for those of us in the reality based community, the answer is simple:
As children were born, the documents were added to the pile, the newest one at the top of the pile. The pile was then sent to the Department of Health, were a clerk stamped each one, recorded it, and went to the next one down.
Simple.
Or maybe they were processed in alphabetical order!! Even MORE simple!!!
"Moreover, no records for Dunham having been a patient at Kapi'olani in 1961, or of Obama having been born at the hospital on Aug. 4, 1961, have been released by the hospital."
Yeah, those pesky federal and state patient confidentiality laws, they so get in the way of a good fishing trip.
"Now that President Obama has personally vouched for the authenticity of the birth certificate the White House released yesterday, he can reasonably be asked to authorize Kapi'olani Medical Center to release any and all medical records the hospital may hold for his mother and Barack Obama Sr., his listed father."
Even assuming the hospital maintained records from 50 years ago, why on earth would it be "reasonable" to expect any such thing?
"Fundamentally, the world changed for Barack Obama yesterday morning, not just in increasing pressure for the release of the many hidden documents about his past, but in the inescapable reality that the White House must defend this newly released birth certificate as authentic."
Easy to do. Clear chain of custody from the Department of Health to the White House, written statements from officials at the DoH. The burden of proof is on the birthers to try and claim otherwise.
"In the final analysis, proof that the document is an authentic Obama birth record will await forensic examination."
Paging Ron Polland. Paging Dr. Ron Polland. Your Ph.D, in bullshitology is required at World Nut Daily......
27 April - Author and historian Douglas Brinkley has a suggestion to NBC.
"We don’t have to blame “the media” for dealing with this issue. We have to blame NBC Entertainment. They need to dump Trump from his primetime news show. He’s a poison toad on the airwaves. What corporate sponsor is going to be buying ad time for Donald Trump’s show. Any company that goes into Trump and is willing to pay is going to find consumer boycott like they’ve never seen before. If you are going to do what Trump did and go after the President of the United States in such a grotesque and disingenuous way you better cough up the goods. Today the Obama administration has shown what a charlatan Donald Trump really is."
27 April - The Guardian (UK) reports on the long form release - and the racist elements in birtherstan.
"And so, the birther story. Perfect. Explained everything. A conspiracy of immense proportions, concocted all the way back in 1961, had to be the only explanation for how this black man got to the White House. And if you think race isn't what this is about at its core, ask yourself if there would even be a birther conspiracy if Barack Obama were white and named Bart Oberstar. If you think there would be, you are delusional.
But today, the question is: should Obama have acknowledged the madness?
I think so, and probably earlier. The so-called long-form birth certificate, just a page, could not have taken long to dredge up from its Hawaiian storage coffin. There existed any number of occasions in 2009 and 2010 on which to deal with this. Why not then? I suspect there's no good reason. It's just another example of this White House's slowness of foot on so many political matters.
It is certainly a victory for Donald Trump, the maybe presidential candidate who's been banging on about this. And it's manna from heaven for the birther movement. Far from being satisfied that this ends the matter, the bloggers who depend on this "controversy" for their daily bread will obviously keep at it, finding more and more baroque angles to explore. It is possible, and maybe even probable, that the existence of this certificate will make them – and the Republicans who pander to them – look sillier to a larger percentage of people.
But the problems here are racial paranoia and the bald willingness of politicians to lie in order to stoke it. In at least this one respect, the election of the first African American president, rather than taking us forward, has drawn us back into a cobwebbed and pitiless past, from which there seems no escape."
27 April - Joseph Farah tries to spin things towards de Vattelism on MSNBC
27 April - Lawrence O'Donnell hands Dr. Orly her rear on network television.
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
"Taitz began by awkwardly asking for a close-up, so that she could show a document that she claimed was Obama’s selective service record. O’Donnell was in no mood to let Taitz introduce new “evidence,” or let her filibuster, and after a few minutes of attempting to force her to stay on topic, he ended the interview.
O’Donnell claimed, at the end of the interview, that he hadn’t expected it to go this way. I doubt that. He has clearly studied Orly’s modus operandi, and was ready for the barrage of patter. O’Donnell was a tad merciless, but it’s hard to cry any crocodile tears for Taitz, who has been given far too much attention so far."
He didn't let her FEEENSH!!!!
Seriously, Dr. Orly came on the show looking stunned and like she had been crying for a long time. And afterwords she looked like she was going to break into tears again. I think Dr. Orly is bitter at what she sees as Trump stealing her "rightful" place in the spotlight, and the realization that she's going to be increasingly marginalized as anything other than a political punchline.
27 April - And another reporter notes that it's all about the racism, and the birtherstani's attempt to explain away the long form or move the goal posts is proof of such.
"So what's fueling the dogged questioning of Obama's origins? Many critics of the birther movement say its core tenets--and its stubborn resistance to evidence disproving those beliefs--can be traced to racial hostilities. The fundamental birtherist conviction, these critics say, is that an African-American can't have legitimately won the presidency--and that his elevation to power therefore has to be the result of an elaborate subterfuge.
"There is a real deep-seated and vicious racism at work here in terms of trying to de-legitimate the president," Peniel Joseph, a professor of history at Tufts University, told The Ticket.
"This is more than just a conspiracy," Peniel added. "I think this is fundamentally connected to white supremacism in this country."
Well, when you have birther sites (like the Pest and eFail) openly allowing racist comments and articles, birthers who link to openly racist sites (Dr. Kate and Lame Cherry for example), birthers that repeat things found originally at "Stormfront", and birthers hanging around with racist militias and "sovereign citizen" groups, it's rather blindingly obvious that for a good chunk of them, it IS all about race.
"Birthers emphatically deny such criticism. But it's difficult to apprehend the ongoing resistance to proof of Obama's citizenship without crediting racial fear as a significant factor. At first, after all, many adherents of birtherism argued that the administration fueled speculation by failing to release the long-form version of Obama's birth certificate, but now that this version has been released to the public, the call continues to go out for other kinds of information about Obama's past to be released--a level of scrutiny that neither McCain nor Obama's 43 predecessors in the Oval Office were expected to face.
Trump, who has railed against Obama as he floats himself as a presidential contender, on Wednesday at a press conference in New Hampshire called for Obama to release his academic transcripts:
The word is, according to what I've read, that he was a terrible student when he went to Occidental. He then gets to Columbia. He then gets to Harvard. I heard at Columbia he wasn't a very good student. He then gets to Harvard. How do you get into Harvard if you're not a good student. Maybe that's right or maybe that's wrong. But I don't know why he doesn't release his records. Why doesn't he release his Occidental records?
Trump and others have accused Obama of not authoring his memoir, while many Obama detractors continue to argue he is secretly Muslim. Both Jackson and Peniel noted that never before has a sitting president's nationality been questioned."
I think after watching the birtherstani move the goal posts like they have, we can pretty much discount their claims of them not being racist.
27 April - And the OC Weekly reports on Dr. Orly's screech of "fraud! forgery!"
"Apparently, after a few hours of letting the news sink in that President Barack Obama released his long-form birth certificate and taking a magnifying glass to the image of it on her TV screen, Orly Taitz has concluded the document is fraudulent.
The latest twist is disclosed in Elspeth Reeve's roundup of Birther reactions for The Atlantic (emphasis is theirs):
The famous "Queen of All Brithers," Orly Taitz, who's played a role in a handful of lawsuits in which soldiers refused to deploy to war zones because their orders came from an illegitimate commander-in-chief, remains unconvinced. She gets points for originality: Her proof that the document is fraudulent is that Obama's father's race is listed as "African." Taitz explained to Talking Points Memo's Ryan J. Reilly, "In those years ... when they wrote race, they were writing 'Negro' not 'African. ... In those days nobody wrote African as a race, it just wasn't one of the options. It sounds like it would be written today, in the age of political correctness, and not in 1961 when they wrote white or Asian or 'Negro'."
Um . . . yeah.
27 April - The New York Times comments on the long form release.
"With sardonic resignation, President Obama, an eminently rational man, stared directly into political irrationality on Wednesday and released his birth certificate to history. More than halfway through his term, the president felt obliged to prove that he was a legitimate occupant of the Oval Office. It was a profoundly low and debasing moment in American political life.
The disbelief fairly dripped from Mr. Obama as he stood at the West Wing lectern. People are out of work, American soldiers are dying overseas and here were cameras to record him stating that he was born in a Hawaii hospital. It was particularly galling to us that it was in answer to a baseless attack with heavy racial undertones.
Mr. Obama practically begged the public to set aside these distractions, expressing hope that his gesture would end the “silliness” and allow a national debate about budget priorities. It won’t, of course. "
Of course it won't. The birtherstani have too much invested in their hatred to change now.
"So it will not quiet the most avid attackers. Several quickly questioned its authenticity. That’s because the birther question was never really about citizenship; it was simply a proxy for those who never accepted the president’s legitimacy, for a toxic mix of reasons involving ideology, deep political anger and, most insidious of all, race. It was originally promulgated by fringe figures of the radical right, but mainstream Republican leaders allowed it to simmer to satisfy those who are inflamed by Mr. Obama’s presence in the White House. "
Pretty much so, yes.
27 April - Oh look. Walter Fitzpatrick.
"So Tim and I had done everything that we thought we needed to do to confirm the fact that Mr. Obama was a foreign-born domestic enemy, and when we said “foreign-born,” we pointed to Mombasa, Kenya.
This happened for two years, and we’ve discussed the issue about Mr. Obama accepting the fact that he is declared by the military as a foreign-born domestic enemy. "
The military has NEVER accepted any such "fact". The only people claiming it as a fact are seditionists like Fitzpatrick.
"In other words, Obama is a foreign-born domestic enemy, and it was with that knowledge that Mr. Obama was named again in the commission of treason on the 17th of March of this year, again. Before that, there was a letter sent to the two sitting federal grand juries in Knoxville alerting them to the issue of the challenge to recapture the power of presentment. When those letters were mailed on the 16th and 17th of March, respectively, some five weeks ago, to the two sitting grand juries in Knoxville, copies of those letters were sent to the FBI in Knoxville and to the U.S. attorney in Knoxville, William C. Killian."
Where they were placed in a file to be used to track Fitzpatrick's increasing instability.
"So on Monday of this week, the 25th of April, I went to the post office and mailed back directly to the U.S. attorney in Knoxville, those four letters: one letter which went to the two juries, and then the letters from 16 and 17 March, one for each of the juries so there were four envelopes that I returned to the United States attorney. I mailed them on Monday. He would have received them yesterday. And today Obama comes out and says, “Here’s my new birth certificate.”
So let's see. Donald Trump, Andy Martin, Joseph Farah, Jerome Corsi and now Walter Fitzpatrick are trying to take the credit for "forcing" Obama to release the long form??
Ego much people?
"These accusations against Mr. Obama stand on their face, because if they had been found defective either two years ago or in the intervening two years or in the last couple of weeks, I wouldn’t be talking to you tonight. I have not been arrested."
Of course not. Freedom of speech don't cha know. You can repeat and claim any batshit lunatic thing you want as long as you don't threaten or provoke violent action or lawbreaking
"Nothing has been found that is defective in the criminal complaint that I, as a military officer, holding standing, have issued against Mr. Obama."
Oh for pity's sake. YOU ARE NOT A MILITARY OFFICER MR. FITZPATRICK!! YOU HAVE BEEN A CIVILIAN SINCE YOU WERE BOOTED FOR FAILURE TO BE PROMOTED IN THE 1990'S!!!!!!!
"He is, in fact, a foreign-born domestic enemy, and it could be that the two grand juries, one or both, are looking at this thing."
Or it's more likely they circular filed it.
"Mr. Obama has been named by his military as a foreign-born domestic enemy. "
Utter and complete bullshit. The US Military has never made any such declaration.
There's enough bullshit in that post to fertilize Kansas.
27 April - What a surprise. Texas state rep Leo Berman goes "nope, not gonna accept it" when it comes to the long form.
"Berman, who has filed a "birther" bill this session that would force future presidential and vice presidential candidates to show their birth certificate in order to get on the Texas ballot, said he's got several key questions with Obama's birth certificate: Why did it take the president so long, amid a conservative firestorm, to release it?"
Because anyone with three brain cells to rub together knows the short form COLB was legit.
"Why does it look "brand new," he said, when it's supposed to be five decades old? "
Because it's a brand new copy of the original document?
"Why doesn't the hospital listed on the birth certificate have a "plaque on the door" commemorating Obama's birth there?"
Maybe because of patient confidentiality? Or because it's just plain tacky?
"And has anyone checked with the delivery room doctor listed on the birth certificate (whose name Berman says is curiously difficult to make out)?"
Yes. he died a few years ago. Next?
"But it's not enough for Berman, who has famously declared the "YouTubes are infallible." He said he's now seen two birth certificates: the Hawaiian one released by Obama this morning, and one he said indicates Obama was born in Mombasa, Kenya. And he claims the hospital Obama lists on his birth certificate — in fact, all hospitals in Honolulu — have denied the president was born there. "
Because the State of Hawaii is just as valid a source as a convicted forger and con man, right?
27 April - Wow. TexasDarlin chimes in on the long form. And not surprisingly, she's not convinced.
"If I were in the White House press corps, these two questions would be at the top of my list for the next briefing:
1. WILL THE WHITE HOUSE MAKE THE PAPER VERSION OF THE LONG FORM AVAILABLE FOR THE PRESS CORPS TO INSPECT AND PHOTOGRAPH? IF NOT, WHY NOT?
2. IS THIS LONG FORM THE ONLY BIRTH CERTIFICATE ON FILE IN HAWAII FOR OBAMA, OR WAS THERE A SUBSEQUENT OR AMENDED BIRTH CERTIFICATE FILED AT SOME POINT IN HIS LIFE, PERHAPS ONE IN HIS ADOPTED FATHER’S NAME?"
*Blink blink*
"The reason for the second question is, to repeat what I have stated consistently on this blog for three years, that Barack Hussein Obama’s original birth certificate would have been sealed — per Hawaii law — if he were legally adopted. I assert that he was adopted by Lolo Soetoro, that a new Hawaii birth certificate was issued, and that the one posted by the White House today was sealed some 45 years ago. This has been my theory for three years, and it’s still my theory."
Wow. I'm surprise she hasn't dusted off "Judah Benjamin" from wherever they've been hiding since November of 2008, since that's right out of his claims.
"Because, friends, Barack Obama became an Indonesian citizen when he was adopted by Lolo Soetoro and I suspect that he may never have relinquished that citizenship. "
Well, except for that minor pesky problem that a minor can't renounce US citizenship, and there's never been any proof of an adoption.
That being said, it's kinda funny to watch the moldy oldies dusted off and revamped. Like trying to fit your old 8-track player onto your brand new computer.
27 April - And speaking of moldy oldies, it's the Daily PUMA. And what does that litterbox have to say about the long form??
"Breaking News, Barack Obama admits he is not a Natural Born Citizen, hopes media created confusion about being born in Hawaii will conceal real issue."
I think that sound you hear is Emmerich de Vattel rolling in his grave.
"Almost 250 years ago the motivation for the Natural Born Citizen rule was most likely to prevent British Army officials from impregnating a female U.S. citizen and then having that child growing up eligible to run for president or vice president of the United States. Our founding fathers feared that the father from a foreign country could hold sway over his offspring and thereby compromise the running of the United States."
Then it's funny that 250 years ago they didn't STATE the "two citizen rule" in the Constitution now, isn't it?? If they were so concerned, you think it would have been added that a "Natural Born Citizen was born of two citizen parents on the soil of their native country". But the "Blood and Soil" theory wasn't added, was it??
"Barack Obama's contention that simply because his mother was a U.S. Citizen, even a Natural Born U.S. citizen, automatically grants him Natural Born Citizen status in my opinion is in error. Mom's citizenship bought him time, 18 years worth of time, for Dad to move to the United States and become a U.S. citizen so that Barack Obama could become an after the fact natural born citizen."
Cute theory. However, the fact that Obama was born in the United States made him a Natural Born citizen FROM BIRTH.
Idiots on parade.
27 April - PolitiFact looks at Leo Berman's claims.
"For CNN’s recent investigation into "birther" claims, which aired April 25-26, CNN reporter Gary Tuchman traveled to Hawaii to conduct numerous interviews, including one with Monika Danielson, who says she was in the hospital at the same time as Obama's mother and saw him in the nursery. He also interviewed Chiyome Fukino, who was the state Health Department's director under Republican Gov. Linda Lingle.
The bottom line, according to Tuchman: His research "reveals what most analysts have been saying since the 'birther' controversy erupted during the 2008 presidential campaign: Obama was born in Hawaii on Aug. 4, 1961. Period."
So far as we can tell, Kapiolani hasn’t confirmed that Obama was born there, citing federal privacy law that prevents it from doing so. But we found no record that the hospital has ever denied it, as Berman claims. Nor did the lawmaker provide evidence of such.
We have a rating for such statements. Pants on Fire!"
27 April - Here's a powerful article.
"Show me your papers!"
Major Blackard, then just 19 years old, dug into his trousers in search of his wallet. He padded his jacket, but could not find his billfold.
"Sir, I done left my wallet..." Blackard said. Before he could finish his sentence, the young man was posted against the brick wall, cuffed and taken to the St. Louis city jail. Unable to prove his identity, he would spend the next 21 days in a cramped, musty cell. That's where his older brother Matt found him, beaten and bloodied. Matt returned with Major's employer later that day, wallet and identification card in hand, to post bond.
The year was 1899. Major Blackard was my great, great grandfather.
The real crime, as Pulitzer Prize winning author Doug Blackmon points on in his seminal work Slavery by Any Other Name, was that my grandfather was a colored man in America.
One Hundred and Eleven years later.....
"This morning, as White House staffers released copies of the president's long form birth certificate, I couldn't shake the feeling that something very ugly was going on. For the first time in recorded history, a sitting president of the United States found it necessary to produce his original birth certificate for public inspection. Not once, in 235 years, have we ever demanded proof that our president was born on American soil.
In a stunning display of unchecked ego, Donald Trump quickly hosted a news conference, during which he took credit for forcing President Obama's hand. The sometime real estate developer, socialite, author and television personality went on to caution onlookers to let "experts" examine the document. Lest the president continue perpetrating was Trump has called potentially the "biggest fraud in American history."
Which is bad enough.
"Trump didn't just want the birth record. He wants the president to release his college transcripts. "How did such a bad student get into Harvard?," Trump keeps asking. The implication is the Barack Obama was the beneficiary of affirmative action and took the place of a more qualified white student. Apparently, graduating magna cum laude from the nation's most prestigious law school and being named editor of the Harvard Law Review -- the institution's highest student honor -- is not enough for him.
It never is for people like Trump.
"If he gets off the phone, or gets off his basketball court or whatever he's doing at the time," Trump said. "I mean he should be focused on OPEC and getting those prices down."
Which smells....damn fishy.
"When they tell you this isn't racial, don't believe them. This controversy was constructed solely as a way to de-legitimize the presidency of a black man. Those who question the location of Barack Obama's birth are the very same people who would pack up and move out of the neighborhood if someone like me moved in next door.
When they say they want to take their country back, they mean from us.
According to a recent Public Policy Polling survey, a stunning 51 percent of Republicans believe the president wasn't born in the United States. In Mississippi, nearly half of all Republicans believe interracial marriage should be illegal. If they had their way, not only would Obama not be president, he never would have been born. That's how far we have not come.
Some 112 years after my grandfather was snatched from a street corner in the central west end section of St. Louis, it seems we still need to prove our right to be here.
I thought we were better than this. "
Damnit, we SHOULD be better than this.

In these times, with these people, here's what this country needs: not anger, not frustration with the idiocy, not exasperation, but laughter, which is still as powerful as the day the following was written. And I quote:
"Will a day come when the race[as in human]will detect the funniness of these juvenilities and laugh at them--and by laughing at them destroy them? For your race, in its poverty, has unquestionably one really effective weapon--laughter. Power, Money, Persuasion, Supplication, Persecution--these can lift at a colossal humbug,--push it a little-- crowd it a little--weaken it a little, century by century: but only Laughter can blow it to rags and atoms at a blast. Against the assault of Laughter nothing can stand.

Please pass this on, and let us not only enjoy riduculing the ridiculous, but let us thereby render it harmless.

Well, it has to be asked. Whose bright idea was it to transfer the certificate image (which had a plain background) on to that stupid green background?
Yes, some of us "experts" understand how the layering could have been produced "innocently". But the average non technical person now has a seed of doubt which won't go away easily.
Some say this was deliberate, to get the birthers in a twist. Some say it was accidental. Either way, it gives me a very bad feeling about the people who did this.
