27 April - The White House releases President Barack Obama's "Long Form" birth certificate.

(PDF of White House Correspondence with State of Hawaii Department of Health here)
"When any citizen born in Hawaii requests their birth certificate, they receive exactly what the President received. In fact, the document posted on the campaign website is what Hawaiians use to get a driver’s license from the state and the document recognized by the Federal Government and the courts for all legal purposes. That’s because it is the birth certificate. This is not and should not be an open question.
The President believed the distraction over his birth certificate wasn’t good for the country. It may have been good politics and good TV, but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country. Therefore, the President directed his counsel to review the legal authority for seeking access to the long form certificate and to request on that basis that the Hawaii State Department of Health make an exception to release a copy of his long form birth certificate. They granted that exception in part because of the tremendous volume of requests they had been getting.
At a time of great consequence for this country – when we should be debating how we win the future, reduce our deficit, deal with high gas prices, and bring stability to the Middle East, Washington, DC, was once again distracted by a fake issue. The President’s hope is that with this step, we can move on to debating the bigger issues that matter to the American people and the future of the country."

The certificate dovetails with the Nordyke certificates, and matches the information about hospital and doctor we already knew.
That being said, the only thing this will change is that the goal posts will be moved out of the parking lot and down the street.
White House Releases Obama's Long-Form Birth Certificate
The narrative from many birtherstani for over a year now is that it's a de-facto forgery or fake, since the State of Hawaii is supposed to be in on the conspiracy and that a long-form has been "aging" for a while. Expect "proof" from Polland/Polarik within 48 hours showing "forgery".
I will also note it says "Certificate of Live Birth" rather than "birth certificate", and they've been saying for months that a COLB is "worthless".
Others will just go de Vattelist and adopt the "two citizen parent" claim, or play with the Indonesian citizenship myth.
We'll also see people starting to adopt the college records demand, particularly in light of Trump's affirmative action comments/
Still others will see it as the President giving in to conspiracy nuts and ramp the crazy up a notch.
And some of Lakin's supporters will scream bloody murder and whine that Lakin was court-martialed for no reason.
The birtherstani have shown an amazing ability to ignore facts and evidence before. This changes nothing save the dialog and types of claims made.

The beauty of how the white house played this whole thing is incredibly evident. First, they started the wacko theories about Kenya, so he provided what Hawaii gives you when you request a certified copy. Then they moved the goal posts to the "long form" because a certified copy wasn't good enough.
Now when they start the de Vattel baloney in the main stream media it'll show that they just moved the goal posts one more time.
And the entire Republican party is immersed in the stench of birtherism.

Are you aware of this?
http://www2.az-independent.com/?p=2974
A memo from Obama Sr. official immigration files written Aug 31, 1961, indicating that Obama had a son born in Hawaii earlier that month. Plus the files just state that he entered the country in 1959 and no indication he had left the country since. This was an investigation into whether his student visa should be extended and if he had taken time off school for an extended trip out of the country, they would have known about it.

Orly must be chewing her eyelashes right now.
Patrick, what will you do with all the extra time, now that all the opposition has been definitively shown the error of their ways?

Mrs. Polly - Oh, they're not done. Not by a long shot.
And I could always go back to writing bad movie reviews :-)

FreeRepublic is already all over it claiming it's a forgery.
And Orly Taitz ain't buyin' it either.
And you just KNOW Corsi won't buy it because his book, "Where's the Birth Certificate", comes out next month.
Next stop, de Vattel raised to godlike status on Fox News where it will be called "a good question".

Hey Mrs P! *waves* Nice to see Strange has already frontpaged at RR.

Hi Other Mike! Yes, Strange pounced on it, and Patrick, I knew this would barely slow the Carnival Barkers® down; Wordpress ate my end/feverdream html tag.

LOL at the birthers demanding to see his college records now.
I demand to see theirs! (Might be hard considering most of them seem to be high school dropouts)

I like how one of their big complaints is that is says African in the fathers race column, Oily insist it should say Negro because "that's what they were called back then before political correctness", what a clown she is, he was an African national you stupid wench! I just hope Trump enters the race, should be enjoyable to watch!

@ Mrs P: I should say, just to avoid confusion, I'm the usual RR Mike, but there are so many Michaels, Mikes and so on that outside of our cosy little den of snark, the name seemed apt...

Understood, that other Mike who's really the same Mike.
Patrick, have you noticed that now the program of choice for screwing around with kerning and krazee is Illustrator? Is this because Polarik was so thoroughly debunked re Photoshop that the debunking could simply be cut-and-pasted from the Short Form Frenzy?
