Dispatches from Birtherstan - 29 April 2011

In today's dispatches. we're still seeing the birtherstani try to find their fall-back positions. The de Vattelist "two citizen parents" claim is the top favourite, though some are also mixing in the Indonesian Citizenship myth for added spice.

Then you have the people that have been prepared since 2009 to call the long form a forgery and they will have their moment in the sun, darn it all!

The State of Hawaii Department of Health has posted the document chain as well has links to the long form on their site, which should show even the terminally stupid that they consider the document legitimate. We have some added studies of racism among the birtherstani, with Dr. Kate providing additional samples and examples on her blog.

James Manning tries to explain away the long form. Berg is trying to attract the faithful (and their money) back to him. Sen. Rand Paul makes fun of fellow tribble wearer Donald Trump. And The Pest and eFail has shown that no amount of evidence or reality will sway them from their 3-minute hate of Obama.

27 April - The State of Hawaii Department of Health issues their own statement about the long form.

"The Hawai'i State Health Department recently complied with a request by President Barack Obama for certified copies of his original Certificate of Live Birth, which is sometimes referred to in the media as a “long form” birth certificate.

“We hope that issuing certified copies of the original Certificate of Live Birth to President Obama will end the numerous inquiries related to his birth in Hawai'i,” Hawai'i Health Director Loretta Fuddy said. “I have seen the original records filed at the Department of Health and attest to the authenticity of the certified copies the department provided to the President that further prove the fact that he was born in Hawai'i.”

On April 25, 2011, pursuant to President Obama‟s request, Director Fuddy personally witnessed the copying of the original Certificate of Live Birth and attested to the authenticity of the two copies. Dr. Alvin Onaka, the State Registrar, certified the copies.

So, unless the birthers want to claim that the State of Hawaii forged the document (which honestly, is likely), we have a further piece in the chain of evidence showing it's legit.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 28 April 2011(Part 2)

And in part 2 of today's dispatches, some more reasons why Obama should have NEVER had to show his long form in the first place. NPR asks why the media didn't call out the birthers sooner. More media coverage on the birtherstani trying to scurry to plan b.

The GOP is still trying to get the stink of birther off of them, while some are blaming the birtherstani on - wait for it - Obama. Various birthers should have to cough up a total of $25,125,000 that they have no intention of ever holding to their word and paying. Pamela Geller joins the "forgery!" choir. (At this point, I think we're looking at version 2 of the Cult of the COLB)

World Nut Daily has no intention of giving up the birth certificate binky. Lame Cherry is off the rails as usual. While racism is a the 800 pound gorilla with birtherism, there's a couple 400 pound ones as well.

Polland/Polarik decides what lies he's going to tell about the long form, while showing off his latest talent, the ability to tell something is a forgery without even seeing it! Wow! The Pest and eFail seems to have problems with key parts of the American Dream.

I suspect I found the spiritual lover and mate of a certain retired officer. Wow.....simply wow. And last but not least, Henry Rollins has some things to say about the birtherstani.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 28 April 2011(Part 1)

Because the birtherstani are all riled up after President Obama went on TV and said "Excuse me while I whip this out" with his long form, I'm going to break today's dispatches into two parts.

In Part 1, we have the tribble mobility scooter's experience with unqualified Ivy Leaguers. The Pest and eFail tries to be funny, and fails. Trump tries to double down some more AND take all the credit to boot.

Profesional seditionist Sharon Rondeau has problems with things like "privacy laws" and "reality. Some backlash against Trump forms. Miki Booth is hellbound to convince anyone - particularly herself - that the same OB/GYN that delivered her son didn't also deliver Obama as well.

We have a history of birtherstan that shows they're far from defunct yet. Swiftboat liar Jerome Corsi breaks his silence to try and sell his obsolete book. More and more of the media is starting to call out the 800 pound gorilla in birtherism - namely racism. Joseph Farah tries to go de Vattel on the air. Meanwhile, Dr. Orly gets some media karma on MSNBC

Walter Fitzpatrick joins the crowd of people claiming to have "forced" Obama into showing his long form, and seems to have this delusion that not only is he still in the military, but he and his friends ARE the military. Leo Berman refuses to accept facts or reality. TexasDarlin and the Daily PUMA make attempts to explain away the long form. TD should have brought Judah Benjamin out of retirement for the attempt.

And we get a sober and moving commentary about how much the birthers have lowered us as a nation.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 27 April 2011

For the most part, our listening posts outside of birtherstani were picking up more of the same old swill. We had Franklin Graham's non-stated but obvious support for the tribble mobility scooter named Donald Trump. More of Anderson Cooper's interview with Trump, including Trump's statement on Obama's college records, and his belief Obama's long form birth certificate was missing or non-existent.

The Pest and eFail whines at Anderson Cooper, while also whining that Obama never released any of his records, like a birth certificate. The Independent of Arizona finds USCIS records for Obama, Sr. that mention his having a child born in Hawaii. And World Nut Daily whines that the State of Hawaii has "slammed the door" on people wanting their long form birth certificate. CNN talks with Gov. Jan Brewer, and Jesse Jackson points out that the birtherstani may be a bit racist.

Which was pretty much a normal day for birtherstan. Until the morning of 27 April, when a inbound Predator drone launched from Reality made a tactical strike on birtherstan, dropping a 10 megaton State of Hawaii Long-Form Birth Certificate, (complete with request and custody chain), upon the birtherstani.

The effect was immediate, with signs the birtherstani are separating into separate factions to deal with this strike. The de Vattelist brigade seems to be attracting the most followers, under the leadership of Joseph Farah's pornstar mustache as he tries to fall back and regroup. Meanwhile, a crackpot team of denial experts, accompanied by Dr. Orly, attempt to explain away the long form. Trump and others attempt to troll for Obama's college records next, while Trump tries to claim victory. The Teahaddists go "SCARY" "NOT A CITIZEN" "SCARY" "WAHHH! HILLARY!!"

Philip Berg climbs out from the Indonesian Citizenship bunker to try and rally the free-range PayPal donations to his side. The sane part of the GOP is desperately trying to catch the last train out of birtherstan. The Pest and eFail adds their spin, while Miki Booth has fainting spells over the idea that the doctor who delivered Obama may have touched her lady parts during delivery as well. Dr. Kate listens to the wisdom of the sewage ponds and tries to rally the de Vattelists. Swiftboat liar Jerome Corsi tries to pimp his now obsolete book. Lakin's groupies seem to recognize Obama as President enough to offer Lakin a pardon.

And finally, the Daily Kos points out the documentation that many of the birthers really want.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - Special Update - Obama Long Form Released

27 April - The White House releases President Barack Obama's "Long Form" birth certificate.

"When any citizen born in Hawaii requests their birth certificate, they receive exactly what the President received. In fact, the document posted on the campaign website is what Hawaiians use to get a driver’s license from the state and the document recognized by the Federal Government and the courts for all legal purposes. That’s because it is the birth certificate. This is not and should not be an open question.

The President believed the distraction over his birth certificate wasn’t good for the country. It may have been good politics and good TV, but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country. Therefore, the President directed his counsel to review the legal authority for seeking access to the long form certificate and to request on that basis that the Hawaii State Department of Health make an exception to release a copy of his long form birth certificate. They granted that exception in part because of the tremendous volume of requests they had been getting.

At a time of great consequence for this country – when we should be debating how we win the future, reduce our deficit, deal with high gas prices, and bring stability to the Middle East, Washington, DC, was once again distracted by a fake issue. The President’s hope is that with this step, we can move on to debating the bigger issues that matter to the American people and the future of the country."

The certificate dovetails with the Nordyke certificates, and matches the information about hospital and doctor we already knew.

That being said, the only thing this will change is that the goal posts will be moved out of the parking lot and down the street.

White House Releases Obama's Long-Form Birth Certificate

The narrative from many birtherstani for over a year now is that it's a de-facto forgery or fake, since the State of Hawaii is supposed to be in on the conspiracy and that a long-form has been "aging" for a while. Expect "proof" from Polland/Polarik within 48 hours showing "forgery".

I will also note it says "Certificate of Live Birth" rather than "birth certificate", and they've been saying for months that a COLB is "worthless".

Others will just go de Vattelist and adopt the "two citizen parent" claim, or play with the Indonesian citizenship myth.

We'll also see people starting to adopt the college records demand, particularly in light of Trump's affirmative action comments/

Still others will see it as the President giving in to conspiracy nuts and ramp the crazy up a notch.

And some of Lakin's supporters will scream bloody murder and whine that Lakin was court-martialed for no reason.

The birtherstani have shown an amazing ability to ignore facts and evidence before. This changes nothing save the dialog and types of claims made.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 26 April 2011

And the listening stations outside of birtherstan report today that we have confirmation that Inmate Lakin's sentence was affirmed by the US Army. Racism? Among birthers? The deuce you say. Both CNN and Fox News say that yes, Obama was born in the United States, cope.

Anderson Cooper debunks Trump - repeatedly. Franklin Graham is trying to be the Grand Mufti of Birtherstan. Dr. Kate gives some idea of when she started to go crazy, though evidence shows it was much earlier. Fitzpatrick is rehashing debunked stories, while Carl Swensson hints that Fitzpatrick is even less stable than feared.

Sharon Rondeau is seeing the State of Hawaii in her breakfast cereal. Colorado comes up with a birther bill, Connecticut shoots one down. And Reince Priebus is trying to keep birtherism from splashing on the GOP.

22 April - The Army Times confirms that Inmate Lakin's sentence was affirmed.

"The commander of the Military District of Washington is affirming the six-month prison sentence of an Army doctor who disobeyed deployment orders because he doubted President Barack Obama’s eligibility to serve as commander-in-chief.

A spokeswoman said Friday that Army Maj. Gen. Karl Horst has approved the findings and sentence of Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin’s court-martial in December.

Lakin was sentenced to six months at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, for refusing to go to Afghanistan."

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 23-25 April 2011

In today's dispatches, Lucas Smith accepts the offer from the Lakinistas to review his fake "Kenyan" birth certificate - with a few catches. Swiftboat liar Jerome Corsi's latest bookstore remainder is looking to be the next "Great White Hope" for the birthers. So far, 9 out of 16 states have said "no" to birther bills.

Manning grovels to the people who offended him. "One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet" is being both honest and upfront about his racism and his call for a military coup. The Democratic Governors Association is using birtherism as a fundraising tool. Lakin is told "No, you can't have clemency, not yours."

AP reports on the publicly-available data to show that yes, Obama was born in Hawaii. David LaRocque wants to know why he hasn't had his military coup yet. Dr. Kate once again projects like a drive-in theatre. Trump wants Indiana to revive their dead birther bill. Peter Boyles calls the hospital Obama was born in, and tries to go fishing.

"RacerJim" is a birther asshat outside of the Pest and eFail, where his statements are flailed and paddled repeatedly. The New York Times goes into birther psychology. And we have a sneak preview into what Dr. Orly is going to try and cram into ten whole minutes.

22 April - Lucas Smith donates part of the money he made off of the nude painting of Dr. Orly to the Terry Lakin defense fund.

"As you know I've recently sold a painting, 'Orly Taitz and her Exhibits', for $350.00 After eBay fees ($34.50) and Paypal fees ($11.15) my net profit came to $304.35.

Stipulated in the comprehensive terms of sale of 'Orly Taitz and her Exhibits' I am to donate "7.5% of my net profit, from the sale, to Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin or designee that is authorized to accept donations on his behalf and also another 7 .5% to Orly Taitz."

This part is interesting:

"I am thrilled and delighted to accept your perspicuous 04.03.2011 offer to pay for review of Barack Hussein Obama II's 1961 Coast Province General Hospital(CPGH), British Protectorate of Kenya, British Protectorate of Kenya, Mombasa, certificate of birth (2009 certified copy), in person, by what you refer to as a 'certified document forensic investigator'."

O RLY?? Well, not without a FEW catches....

"For the record, I don't believe that a forensic document examiner can/will authenticate the birth certificate in a manner that they might typically authenticate other documents. I offer the following explanations(a thru e) in support of my foregoing opinion: "

Oh, this is going to be good.

"a. This isn't an 'old' document that can be carbon dated or dated with some sort of chemical testing procedure. "

Or, alternately, because it was provided by a known and convicted forger and con artist.

"b. A simple telephone call, email or other correspondence with the issuing hospital in Mombasa,Kenya is not going to suffice in authentication. "

Because they're going to say "Lucas who??"

"c. I don't believe that Kenyans are going to help us and if they do we will have no way of knowing they whether are being sincere or if they are just feeding us disinformation."

Translation - Lucas knows damn well that any investigation will prove his so-called birth certificate is a forgery, so he throws this out as an excuse.

d. A forensic document examiner is going to be putting his or her life LIFE ONTHE LINE (literally) if he or she deems the to be document to be authentic.

*Yawn* More "dead rabbit" claims.

e. The only way that I see this document being authenticated is through painstaking research and analysis.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 20-22 April 2011

In today's dispatches, CNN claims they've seen Obama's COLB as well. We have an example of the Tea Party and Birther base, at least in South Carolina. Sen. McCain supports Jan Brewer. There are some theories that Trump might put an end to birtherism.

Some sane Republicans continue to try and reclaim their party from the crazies. We have a whole conspiracy gumbo of warmed over Clinton claims with Obama myths. Dr. Orly is getting some loving, Pest and eFail style. Rep. Bachmann continues to play both sides of the birther fence.

The Pest and eFail continues it's slide into outright bigotry. Dr. Orly and Gary Kreep get some more time in their appeal. A birther / Tea Party lawsuit goes the way of the dodo. Missouri comes up with a somewhat sane birther bill. Politico does a brief history of birtherism. And we have some samples of Lame Cherry's latest.

A note to my readers - I have been spending the last few days and this weekend with my family, so please excuse the delay in updates.

15 April - In commenting about Donald Trump's birtherism, CNN makes an interesting claim.

"The Obama team and the state of Hawaii released a certification of live birth, which documents the president’s birth on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu. This is not the original birth certificate. In Hawaii and other states, original birth certificates are not released when requested later.

CNN has seen a copy of the document and verified that it is official.

The certificate, officials say, allows a person born in Hawaii to get a driver's license, purchase land and obtain a U.S. passport."

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 19 April 2011

In today's dispatches, one of the biggest pieces of news of course is that Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed that state's undead birther bill. And you can just imagine the screaming, wailing, and gnashing of teeth that the birtherstani are doing as a result. Which means the only birther bill to date that made it out of committee and onto the floor was killed before it could cost that state any more legal fees.

But it's not all sweet, sweet birther tears. Pennsylvania and Louisiana join the birther bill parade. Davenport goes "was I wrong? Should I not have said the President's family are chimps?" . Trump plays a "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" game, while ignoring any facts he can. A poll in Iowa shows that the sane Republicans in that state are barely holding even. Shere Zieve seems to have completely ignored GW Bush's vacation habits.

But there's two items in today's dispatches I want to highlight. The first is that James Manning has a mad. But this time not at Obama per se, but the various birtherstani who he thought were his friends, and who dumped him like a bad habit to get into Donald Trump's good graces. Manning doesn't seem to understand that unlike Manning, Trump has a name and money.

Oh yeah, and a more acceptable skin colour too.

The second is an interview the Pest and eFail does with Walter Fitzpatrick. One that I really really hope the FBI and local law enforcement takes special note of. And soon. Real soon.

13 April - Pennsylvania joins the birther bill parade.

"In light of the ongoing controversy regarding U.S. citizenship as it pertains to candidates running for public office,"

Among the far right, racists, disgruntled PUMAs, conspiracy-addled, and general nutcases at least.

"Pennsylvania House State Government Committee Majority Chairman Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) announced today that he has re-introduced legislation to require all candidates for political office to officially submit documentation proving Constitutional eligibility for ballot access."

By which I suspect he means "rewrote a provided template and shoved it into committee."

"Each candidate for President of the United States shall file with his or her nomination petition or substituted nomination certificate or the applicable nomination paperwork an affidavit containing information enumerated in section 910 and shall append to the affidavit documentation that provides proof that the candidate is a natural born citizen, proof of the candidate’s age and proof that the candidate meets the residency requirements set forth in section 1 of Article II of the Constitution of the United States.”

Well, so far it doesn't look like anything that would stop Obama, and his State of Hawaii COLB would meet those stated requirements easily. However, it's interesting they don't include the text of said bill.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 16-18 April 2011

Today's dispatches covers a busy weekend in birtherstan. Polland/Polarik's latest makes one go "my, but how the mighty have fallen". We have birther fiction that at least admits it's fiction. Chief Editor Korir stumbles out of dawn of birther time. Conspiracy nutter Wayne Madsen is, well, mad. As a hatter.

We have the next player in Theresa Cao's parade of public defenders. Some of the PUMAs are wondering if Trump's birther net is wider than expected. Dr. Orly appears on CNN, showing why the Nitrous Queen isn't usually on Television anymore. A GOP birther and Tea Party activist gets caught sending around a racist email - and is confused why anyone would take offense at it.

Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona (Republican) hints at a birther bill veto, while Arizona's Secretary of State (Republican) says Obama's COLB meets the requirement of said birther bill. The Pest and eFail has another whine, this time that Glenn Beck still hasn't boarded the crazy train to birtherstan. Anti-Semitic Internet Outhouse Andy Martin needs to get more fiber in his diet.

Donald Trump is still going with the crazy, warning the GOP they better get on the birther bus, while still parroting long-since debunked birther claims. Dr. Kate continues her decent into madness, while her floaters are deserving of a Secret Service visit. The Pest and eFail continues to give racist bigots a home. A friend sends me a great set of stories on the Sovereign Citizen movement, The American Conservative Union gives the Indonesian Citizenship claim a home, and Dr. Orly continues the birtherstani civil war.
