In today's dispatches, the birthers have a brand new OMGWTFBBQ Great White Hope moment that turns out not to be so. Lawrence Sellin continues to be his treasontasic self. Dean Haskins expands his birther challenge to four other people he'll ignore and not pay.

Meanwhile birtherpoolza gets another member listed. The Pest and eFail gets hacked by a redirect bug and goes apedump over Google before going "Oh, never mind". The Terry Lakin Action Fund wants their fellow birthers to keep digging deep into those pocket$

Carl Swensson seems to be a bit put out. Moran has promoted himself to "Almighty prophet and supreme leader of all the birtherstani" Polland / Poiarik keeps taking longer dives into Lake Insanity. And Dr. Orly goes "wahhh, I want a boat ride TOO!!!!"

18 August - According to World Nut Daily, corrupt Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has become Birtherstan's newest Great White Hope.

"At the request of tea-party leaders in Arizona, famed Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has agreed to examine evidence challenging the validity of Barack Obama's purported long-form birth certificate in a determination of the president's eligibility for the 2012 election ballot.

Tea party leaders in Surprise, Ariz., met with Arpaio and WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi Thursday morning to express concern that a fake birth certificate would be used to document the president's eligibility to run in Maricopa County, where Arpaio is the chief law-enforcement officer.

Arpaio's tough crackdown on illegal immigration has made him a national figure.

At a one-hour meeting in Arpaio's office, the tea-party leaders presented the sheriff with a petition that was drafted after a speech by Corsi the previous night. Corsi, author of a best-selling book challenging Obama's eligibility, "Where's the Birth Certificate?", presented evidence from numerous computer-imaging specialists who believe the document presented by the White House April 27 is not authentic

So it sounds like they dumped their usual load o' crap off on the sheriff, and then claimed victory.

"Arpaio explained in a statement that he has agreed to "simply look at the evidence these people have assembled and examine whether it is within my jurisdiction to investigate the document's authenticity."

"I indicated in this meeting that I will also consider whether there is a more appropriate Arizona agency to determine the document's veracity and ultimately whether the president's name can lawfully be entered onto the 2012 election ballot," Arapaio said."

Hmmm, last I heard it was the Secretary of State's office who determined who could be lawfully entered on a ballot.

19 August - The Phoenix New Times comments on the claims Joe Arpaio went full metal birther.

"Corsi and members of Arizona's Tea Party met with the sheriff yesterday to express their concerns that Obama would be using a fake birth certificate to qualify for the ballot. The sheriff, apparently, agreed to help out.

We sent Arpaio flack Lisa Allen an email asking if this was actually happening. Well, we sent her the link to Corsi's article outlining the plan with the subject line "this can't be real, can it?"

She didn't get back to us. Neither did members of Arizona's Tea Party.

Allen's silence seems to suggest one thing: Joe Arpaio really plans to use the resources of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office to investigate a continually debunked conspiracy theory -- which, if you look at the sheriff's history when it comes to his use of MCSO resources, is about par for the course."

19 August - As near has I can tell, the main theme of Lawrence Sellin's piece here is justifying violence and mob rule out of so-called "self-defence".

"There is now more evidence supporting the conclusion that Obama was not born in Hawaii than that he has; forged birth documents and no hospital record."

Sellin seems to think that privacy laws equal "no hospital record".

"It is part of Obama’s 2012 campaign strategy to mobilize illegal immigrant “voters” as one part of a racially- and ethnically-based coalition supplemented by union thugs and anti-American radicals.

He intends to make the 2012 election a street fight complete with flash mob violence and widespread voter intimidation."

There's so-many racist dog-whistles in this part that the entire Westminster Kennel Club is wondering what the racket is.

"Our government no longer represents us; in fact, it has declared war on us. We are now on our own. We must begin to band together and join forces with the few remaining patriotic leaders to defend ourselves and try to restore Constitutional government and the rule of law."

"Arpaio told the tea party leaders the complaint is within his jurisdiction, and he will be forced to investigate. He said he expects political pressure, but he pointed out that as the chief law enforcement officer of Maricopa County, he’s taken an oath to respond to citizens who approach him about enforcing the law."

Funny, that's not what Arpaio told the media.....

Sounds pretty threaty to me.

"We want our country back! This last edict to not deport illegals breaks the law already on the books. Napolitano is in on the fraud.She knows barry soetero is illegal putative POTUS. I have also faxed and emailed Sheriff Joe. Everyone should write him and implore his authority as sheriff to act for TRUTH! I also contacted Sheriff Babeu in Pinal county to join the fight against tyranny from fed government and the corruption rampant in DC. Our Republic is near extinction without intervention by the last vestige of order which is our county Sheriffs. The courts are compromised. The multiple cases of filing are steps that reveal the corruption already in place. They (courts) will not resolve the main issue in time to arrest barry soetero. Impeachment only applies to sitting POTUS not a fraudulent occupier of the Oval office. Arrest can be swift with the indictments now being processed by citizen grand juries. The counties across America are the last bastion of hope. Some are already corrupt in their own operation. Find ones that have integrity and will stand for TRUTH. Otherwise, it will be very ugly on the streets. Freedom lovers will not lay down and obey a usurper liar-in-chief.

19 August - Hawaii News Now comments on Dean Haskins' offer of $5000 for a Honolulu Newspaper with Obama's birth announcement in it.

"Birther Summit Executive Director Dean Haskins said, "While we under-stand that the announcement's inclusion in those newspapers would not be conclusive proof that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, as there were circumstances that would have allowed for them to appear without a Hawaii birth actually occurring, the only evidence anyone has actually seen of the birth's announcements has been copies of microfiche versions of those newspapers, and they contain suspicious anomalies."

If a newspaper is found Haskins says you can redeem the reward by submitting photographic evidence to (redacted) "at which time instructions will be provided regarding the purchase process that will be brokered through our attorney's office" said Haskins."

Translation - "Oh crap, we have to come up with $5000 after all". Which is silly, since it shouldn't cost them $5000 simply to dismiss the paper out of hand as a forgery......

And in comments:

"Guest - These newspapers are "ephemera" and are quite rare. They are probably worth $50,000 each. The birther making the offer has a track record of making illusory promises. This one, designed solely to get publicity (looks like it worked) is like offering $250 for an ounce of pure gold. Haskins gets all bully-boy and snotty in comments as well, aided by Sammy Sewell. Their attempts are less than successful, and Haskins comes off as sounding pathetic.

19 August - It looks like World Nut Daily may have, oh, lied about Joe Arpaio.....

"Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has denied that he "promised" Tea Party leaders in Arizona to investigate the validity of Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate to determine the president's eligibility for the 2012 election ballot.

Arpaio said he met in his office Thursday with a Tea Party group which presented him with 242 signatures asking for the investigation.

"What I have agreed to do, contrary to some published media reports, is simply look at the evidence these people have assembled and examine whether it is within my jurisdiction to investigate the document's authenticity," Arpaio said in a written statement Friday."

Ooopsie.

"Arpaio said, while he will look at the evidence, "I indicated in this meeting that I will also consider whether there is a more appropriate Arzona agency to determine the document's veracity and ultimately whether the President's name can lawfully be entered onto the 2012 election ballot."

So it was a "meet with the wingbats that may vote for me and make nice with them, and then claim I don't have jurisdiction in a few weeks" meeting then.

19 August - The Phoenix New Times has an article on Teahaddist Jim Wise, one of the people who graced Arpaio's office.

"Take local Tea Party coordinator Jim Wise, for example, whom we caught up with following our post this morning. We asked this guy four times whether he thought President Barack Obama was born in the United States.

"It doesn't matter what I think," Wise tells New Times over, and over (and over) again."

In other words "It doesn't matter what I think, all I know is that there's a SCARY BLACK MAN PRETENDING TO BE PRESIDENT!!!!"

"He listened and he had some of his people in the room, they all gave their opinion. We were there about an hour," he says. "It ended with [Arpaio saying] 'bring me the documentation back with a letter asking me to do it and i'll look into it.'

"He saw the binder [of "evidence"]. He didn't go through it. But he saw the size of it, and volume of it. That's the evidence."

Size doesn't equal quality. Twenty tons of raw sewage doesn't equal a box of chocolates. You could print out several binders of birther theories, and it still won't change the fact that their entire conspiracy theory is wrong.

20 August - The Pest and eFail's site gets hacked with a redirect bug. Of course what do they do? Blame Google and Obama.

"It has been reported that Obama “relies on Google execs for tech and economic advice as his own regulators scrutinize the online-ad behemoth” and that Obama visited the company’s main office in 2004. Further:

Google managers and employees were some of the strongest supporters of candidate Obama, donating around $803,000 to his presidential campaign, according to the website OpenSecrets.org. Among corporate employees, only staffers at Goldman Sachs (GS, Fortune 500) and Microsoft (MSFT, Fortune 500) gave more.

CEO Schmidt actively stumped for the candidate and served as an informal economic adviser during the campaign, and after Obama was elected, Schmidt and other Google executives forked over $25,000 apiece to help pay for the inaugural celebration.

Is there a connection between Google’s redirecting readers away from The Post & Email when other search engines find it immediately and their open and generous support of Obama? Has anyone at Google sabotaged the other search engines so that they yield the Google error message?"

And, of course, they have to go full bat-guano birther.

"Do Google executives still support Obama even if he is not constitutionally eligible to serve or is guilty of presenting a forged birth certificate and claiming it to be authentic? Would any company executive openly support a criminal occupying the office of president?

Does CEO Eric Schmidt know or care about the eligibility question? Does Google support the idea of an internet czar to control free speech and stifle the exposure of corruption in government as The Post & Email does, particularly the Obama regime, under the guise of regulating “commerce?” Is Google assisting with internet regulation as this article goes to press?

If Google is an example of American ingenuity, hard work and private enterprise, why would its leaders support a “socialist revolution” in the form of “net neutrality?”

The Post & Email does not have the answers to these questions, but we will attempt to find them."

21 August - Profesional Seditionist Sharon Rondeau threatens Google with legal action

"As this article goes to press, the graphics do not appear in our article published on the subject yesterday. Using the Bing search engine, the website is located and our article can be opened, but the same result of missing graphics occurs. Our copyrighted material has been hacked, which is a cyber-crime and has been reported as such.

When one tries to then go to our home page, the error message comes up again.

The Post & Email has reported the “Server not found” error to its hosting company, which has stated that it is not their service which is causing the problem. We are therefore approaching the conclusion that someone employed at Google has committed a crime by either hacking our website or purposely causing the Google search engine to redirect browsers to the fake website/Server not found screen, or both.

We have just discovered that now, none of the graphics are appearing properly in a search of our articles, and Google’s name appears in the url, even if Google is not used to reach the website or perform the search. An attempt to open any of the articles listed in the search results in the same error message. The graphic embedded in this article does not display."

At this point, anyone sane would start looking at things like malware. However, Rondeau lives in a very paranoid world.

"Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs has reported that Google has censored searches for terms relating to radical Islam, then labeled it “an accident” and said it was “working to fix a bug.” Geller had also reported having been “sandboxed” by Google, to which a Google representative responded that Geller’s website “was in violation of our terms of service. When we are made aware of a potentital [sic] policy violation, our team of specialists will manually review the site to make sure it abides by our program policies. In this case, we have stopped serving ads to Atlas Shrugs.”

Not a surprise, Google's TOS excludes:

"Content related to racial intolerance or advocacy against any individual, group or organisation"

Pamela Geller's blog certainly qualifies.

"We do not believe this is an accident and will be taking legal action against Google for damages incurred to its copyrighted material, website, and readership since this problem began on Friday, August 19, 2011, if it is found that Google’s employees are at fault."

Of course you don't believe it's an accident. When your corn flakes get soggy in milk, you think it's a conspiracy and blame Obama for it. Big surprise that.

22 August - The Pest and eFail goes "Oops, never mind", about their redirect problem.

" The Post & Email was the victim of a hack attack last Thursday or Friday which caused many readers to be redirected to a fake website as described in our previous articles here and here. The hacker altered the htaccess file, which has now been locked.

The webmaster of the Terry Lakin Action Fund graciously contacted us and repaired the problem very quickly. We have been told that a “common WordPress hack” was used to redirect readers who used Google and several other search engines."

So two days of screaming conspiracy and then one of your birther buddies tells you it's a common hack??

I see you research internet problems with the same level of fairness and accuracy you research claims about President Obama.

22 August - I suspect Haskins got back either nothing at all or a polite "thanks but no thanks" note from Washington Speakers Bureau about Colin Powell. (or got a quote for how much they charge for Powell's time). Because he now expands his "challenge"

And just in case you were curious what Haskins opinion of those four are, well, he has their pictures, along with the following captions:

Bill O'Reilly - "Pinhead or Patriot? The evidence will show . . . Pinhead."
George Stephanopoulos - "Do you “love the Birther issue” enough to face the evidence?"
Anderson Cooper - "RidicuLIST? Sorry, but the evidence won't leave you giggling."
Chris Matthews -

"Can you handle tingle-less evidence?"

And once again Dean Haskins shows himself to be a petty, nasty, insulting bully of a soul.

"In criminal cases a Grand Jury determines if there is enough genuine evidence to convene a jury for determining a verdict. Similarly, in this case we are asking you to come forward, to examine the evidence, and to make a public announcement as to whether there is enough proof to call for an official investigation. We are not asking you to make a determination on the issue; we only ask for your carefully considered opinion, stating that you find enough facts to warrant a full investigation into Mr. Obama's eligibility, or for you to successfully refute the actual evidence presented by our experts."

Anderson Cooper already did all of that back in April. If you had the money, you could just send it to him now and be done with it.

"We would like to sit down with you and present evidence proving that what Barack Obama used to "blow away" Donald Trump and the Birthers was not actually a valid birth certificate, but a forgery. We would also like to present evidence to you of other dubious information Mr. Obama has used to misrepresent himself and his eligibility to hold the office of President of the United States, including his use of a Social Security number that appears to have never been assigned to him, as well as a forged Selective Service registration form."

In other words, you want three hours to preach birtherism at them, when they've all presented the facts before that debunk your claims.

"We suggest that such a meeting take place at an undisclosed location near Washington, DC, and that a small group of our experts, as well as a handful of carefully selected reporters, attend the meeting. We will arrange such a meeting place in an area of your choosing, and we ask that you allot us a three-hour time frame for this meeting."

Again, no refuting experts, and "carefully selected reports" sounds like "World Nut Daily, The Pest and eFail, Greeley Gazette, and Sonoran News" to me.

"During this meeting, our experts will do most of the talking, so you needn't prepare a speech."

In other words "We don't care what you have to say, shut up and listen"

"We will, however, ask only one thing of you: after our evidence is presented, that you either affirm that the evidence we present is sufficient for Congress to launch an immediate, non-partisan investigation into this matter (to include independent testimony and discovery), or that you refute our evidence. This one always strikes me as funny, since the birthers evidence has no facts to substantiate them, and are all anecdotal and rhetorical at best, absurd and incorrect at most.

And besides, who makes the determination if the evidence used to debunk the birthers is valid?? Why Dean Haskins of course.....

It would be more productive spending three hours staring at a wall. A wall with insults painted on it.

And what "Scientific Poll" is this?? Haskins links to Sam Sewell's repost of World Nut Daily's 26 June "Wenzel Strategies" poll. The funny thing is that said poll still isn't shown on Wenzel's site....

22 August - The "Terry Lakin Action Fund" posts a whiny fund-raising letter at the Pest and eFail.

"Again, this week, the general media used the idiotic phrase that goes something like this: “In spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary birthers still don’t believe Obama is the president…” But notice they never outline what the overwhelming evidence is?"

Usually one doesn't have to outline or detail reality.

"Consider a contribution to the Trust. Terry gets criticized daily and his critics are wrong. You need to understand that for two years Terry tried and tried through every means available to him to get answers. He worked with his superiors, he went to his congressman and congressional committee, and more. No one would take action so he did."

Bullshit. Lakin got answers from his superiors, they weren't the answers he WANTED though.

22 August - By now it's obvious that Moran was lying though his teeth about being AWOL, and that he has some major mental health issues going on.

Which doesn't mean the birthers aren't going to still hold him up as a shining beacon of light. On the contrary, as birther report shows.

In 2005, he was mobilized to HQ USSOUTHCOM as the Standing Joint Force HQ Engineer Plans officer (J3). 6 months later, he moved back to the Engineer directorate as the Guantanamo Bay Global War on Terror Engineer. In July of 2007 he demobilized and returned to the TCEM cell as Team Chief, Central American Region as an IMA. Currently he is in the Inactive Ready Reserve."

No mention of his failed lawsuit, how he lost his security clearances, or anything like that. How funny. And IRR sounds like not even the reserves wants him playing anymore. Pretty aggro picture though.
