Dispatches from Birtherstan - 25-28 October 2011

Apologizes for no updates on Wednesday, but I had the chance to spend some family time.

Anyway, in today's dispatches, Charles Dyer seems to be having some attorney problems, and hasn't figured out his fellow "oathkeepers" don't want anything to do with him. Speaking of oafkeepers, pink plastic phallus owner/operator Darren Huff toodles his ugly truck to the courthouse to find out the verdict of his case. Hope he had someone to drive it home.

Dr. Orly goes "screw Jerome Corsi, I'm gonna grab me some hot sheriff Joe action!", much to Corsi's dismay. Meanwhile she asks an appeal to her appeal in Washington DC, and lets hope her Hawaii tickets for the 21 of November were non-refundable. "Martha Trowbridge" builds a conspiracy about Malcolm X's specs.

John Dummett becomes the birtherstani's latest great white hope, with not one but two lawsuits. Curiously enough, neither are in his home state of California, with a federal one in Arizona and a state one in Tennessee. However, the lawsuits are such that there's not enough nitrous for Dr. Orly to touch them.

Rick Perry plays birther flirty games, which causes some in the GOP to say "knock it off, you're making us look stupid." Joseph Farah is also upset at Rowe and willing to throw GW Bush to the lions in the process. Tribble mobility scooter Donald Trump remains in birtherstan. Lawrence Sellin is upset that Karl Rowe is actually speaking the truth about the birthers. Dr. Orly plans to lose to Sen. Diane Feinstein in 2012.

Professional seditionist Sharon Rondeau is trying to say "see, Lucas Smith's Kenyan birth certificate is real, honest, no, really!" And Thomas MacLeran continues to daydream about winning the presidency.

19 October - Charles Dyer aka "July4Patriot" is getting another attorney.

"The trial of a Marlow man accused of child sexual abuse and concealing stolen property has been rescheduled.

Stephens County District Attorney Jason Hicks told the Lawton Constitution the attorney for Charles Dyer has withdrawn from his case and his new lawyer has asked for more time to prepare. "

He also wrote a new letter on 16 October 2011 (scribd link here) In it, he's repledging his troth to the Oathkeepers - who really don't seem to WANT him.

"I swore on the very battleground that the war for our independance started on that I would give my life if need be to insure that my posterity could enjoy the freedom that God granted them and the founders of this great nation attempted to secure. I stood with hundreds of my brothers andsisters as we gave birth to a fledgling organization known as Oathkeepers.

Enough so that these lies have bee nspread on mainstream media by the SPLC and other groups attempting to defame Oathkeepers’ true intent and mission."

This is before he starts to beg for their help.

Well, you were known to be armed, you associate with groups who dislike the law and law enforcement, and had a vendetta against the government. Not to mention having been accused of child rape. Gee, I wonder WHY they went looking for you.

24 October - The AP has a great picture of Darren Huff's truck.

"Darren Wesley Huff, of Dallas, Ga. , waits in his truck for a verdict to be returned in his federal trial on two firearms charges, including a charge of causing a civil disturbance, Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 in Knoxville, Tenn. Huff has described himself as a member of the Georgia militia and Oath Keepers, a part of the so-called "birther" movement that disputes President Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship. Before his arrest, he told the FBI and authorities in Tennessee that he was going to Madisonville to support Walter Fitzpatrick in trying to arrest local officials."

Pity one of the charges isn't taste-related..... As for the truck, wow, compensating much???

25 October - More Malcolm X insanity from "Martha Trowbridge"

"First, the historical medical marvel.

Barack Obama, who according to official medical reports has 20/20 vision, apparently needs eyeglasses.

Not just any eyeglasses, mind you. And certainly not when he’s in public.

He doesn’t even need them when he’s awake.

Obama needs these eyeglasses when he’s sleeping!"

And what do you know. They look absolutely NOTHING alike!!

It looks more like Obama is wearing some eyeshade while he's napping, o but the side stems on what he's wearing look to be transparent plastic, and Malcolm X's stems were darker coloured. What Obama is wearing is wider at the point the stem meets the frame, the ones Malcolm X wore flared out towards the earpiece.

Actually what Obama is wearing look a lot like sports goggles or other protective wear than normal eyeglasses.

Yet "Martha Trowbridge" spins off this complete fantasy.

Stricken with pain, and anger, and grief, Stanley Ann steps up onto the stage. Quickly, she fetches the eyeglasses, along with their broken arm. Hiding them in a pocket or handbag, she hurries away."

Oh, and it looks like someone else is falling into this lunacy.

However, the paragraph down from that says:

25 October - Vanity candidate John Dummett announces his intent to file the next failed birther lawsuit.

"On 10/25/11 Liberty Legal Foundation and John Dummett filed two simultaneous class action lawsuits against the Democratic Party. Both lawsuits request injunctions prohibiting the Party from certifying that Obama is Constitutionally qualified to run for the office of President in the 2012 election. "

Good luck with that, skippy.

"Neither lawsuit discuss Obama’s place of birth or his birth certificate. These issues are completely irrelevant to the argument. LLF’s lawsuit simply points out that the Supreme Court has defined “natural-born citizen” as a person born to two parents who were both U.S. citizens at the time of the natural-born citizen’s birth. When?? Just about every Supreme Court case, from Wong Kim Arc on, has said the exact opposite.

25 October - Talking Points Muckraker reports that Darren Huff's case is off to the jury.

In court prosecutors showed a video of Huff getting pulled over on April 20, while driving his truck with an Oath Keepers decal. From the AP:

“We fully intend to proceed forward with the citizens’ arrests,” Huff says in the video. The roadside stop included bomb-sniffing dogs checking out his truck and Huff chatting with the officers about religion and guns “I’ve got my .45 because ain’t no government official gonna go peacefully,” Huff tells them in the video.

The video shows Huff placing his Colt .45 in a tool box where the assault rifle was being kept. Huff said he never removed the weapons from the truck toolbox in Madisonville after he arrived to dozens of law officers waiting around the courthouse.

If convicted of the first charge, he faces up to five years in prison. The second charge carries a two-year minimum sentence.

25 October - Dr. Orly attempts to appeal the decision to uphold the decision in her FOIA case against the Social Security Administration.

25 October - The conservative blog Hot Air gets some reaction from other Republican governors about Rick Perry flirting with the birthers.

"Jennifer Rubin gets Virginia governor Bob McDonnell and Iowa governor Terry Branstad on the record to rebuke Perry:

Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, a frequent mention for the VP list and the governor of a critical swing state, told Right Turn exclusively through his spokesman: “The governor has always been clear on this matter: The president was born in the United States and any suggestion that he wasn’t is an unnecessary distraction from the important issues facing our nation.”

McDonnell is a careful politician who has pledged not to endorse before the end of the Virginia legislative session. But the message is unmistakable: Knock it off. You’re hurting the party.

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad, who also has yet to endorse and hosts the first contest in the nomination process, seems to share that view. His spokesman told Right Turn: “The governor believes this is an issue that was put to rest long ago. I do not believe the average Iowa caucus-goer shares these views.” In other words: This is not the way to dig out of single digits in a state in which you need to do very well.

25 October - Despite Jerome Corsi telling Dr. Orly "Hands off bitch, the hunky sheriff is MINE!", she decides to go dump her load of dingo droppings off on Joe Arpaio. (Malware and redirect warning)

"I just came from AZ, where I had an opportunity to address sheriff Joe Arpaio. There were multiple cameras rolling and in presence of about 150 supporters Sheriff Arpaio promised, that he will investigate Social Security fraud as well as computer forgery of the birth certificate. He repeatedly stated, that he will not shelf this issue and he will have an official report."

In five years or so.

And yes, it looks like the birther bills are due to come back for another round of failure.

I, also, talked to a very influential legislator, who assured me that this issue will be brought back in the upcoming session.

Arpaio says he has some "shocking" info, but it could be "shock, the birther blather is a crock of dung", or "shock, I'm milking you buffoons for votes", or "shock, the president IS a natural born citizen, but none of you rubes will believe it".

26 October - Tribble life-support unit Donald Trump remains a birther it seems.

26 October - At the Pest and eFail, Lawrence Sellin has a mad at Karl Rowe for daring to acknowledge that Obama is a Natural Born citizen and the birthers are full of hooey. (also reposted at birther report)

26 October - Looks like Rick Perry is trying to walk back the birther stuff.

"In a CNBC interview earlier this week, he managed to distract from his new tax proposal by saying, ""I don't have any idea," when asked if he believes the Hawaiian birth certificate released by the president is authentic. "It's a good issue to keep alive," he said then.

He declined to address that issue Tuesday, but in today's interview with Al Ruechel and me he made clear that he no longer thinks it's a good issue to keep alive. He declared that he has no doubt Obama is an American citizen."

HOWEVER, he's still playing flirty games...

"Perry: "I have no doubt about it. But here's the more interesting thing. Let's lay out our income taxes. Let's lay our our college transcripts. Mine's been on the front page of the paper. So if we're going to lay out all these things, let's lay them all out. So, whether it's college transcripts or income tax, lay them all out. Let the people take a look at them."

Why do I smell the "affirmative action" dog whistle?

26 October - And not even Dr. Orly thinks John Dummett has a case. (malware and redirect warning)

"I am sure Mr. Dummett is a good person, I wish him all the best, but he does not have standing. I was contacted by Mr. Dummett and a couple of his friends probably a couple of months ago. His two friends wanted to travel from FL, where they reside, to CA, in order to persuade me to file a class action law suit with Mr. Dummett as a lead plaintiff, they wanted me to take this case and represent Mr. Dummett.

I explained to them, that first and foremost, during the primary neither he, nor even legitimate candidates on the ballot, do not have standing to challenge Obama. Even, if Romney, Cain and Perry wanted to sue Obama today and seek adjudication of the BC issue, they cannot do it during the primary, as they do not face Obama during the Primary, they face each other, so the judge will say, that the law suit is just hypothetical, conjectural, not ripe. Republican nominee can sue Obama later during the general election, but not during the Primary."

You know the case is bound for failure when even the nitrous queen won't touch it.

26 October - It is now official, Dr. Orly plans to get her rear handed to her in the 2012 California Senatorial campaign.

"Dim-bulb weirdo Orly Taitz has done it! She (barely?) managed to fill in most of the spaces on one of those U.S. Senator job application forms with a few hard-won manual scribbles and then decided to add “Dr.” before her name in the top left margin space, to make it seem serious. Comedy thanks you, Orly!

As everyone probably no longer recalls, this is not her first brush with utter campaign-related failure (now a separate category from her other divisions of total human failure) — she ran unsuccessfully for the GOP nomination for California Secretary of State in 2010. Why will voters take her seriously for this particular whirl of the psycho merry-go-round?"

26 October - Looks like Jerome Corsi had to do some damage control to get Arpaio away from Dr. Orly.

"The results of a formal law-enforcement investigation into whether Barack Obama is eligible to be president of the United States could come as a "shock," according to Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Tuesday night, speaking to a tea-party group in Arizona, Arpaio said, "I can't tell you everything, but there could be a shock there somewhere that my guys came up with. I can't talk too much about it. It's in the process.""

Interesting way to string the birthers and teahaddists along.

"He referenced disputes over the Social Security number attributed to the president and said, "There are a couple of things you and nobody else here knows anything about yet that could be a little bit exciting."

Hmmm...whoever would Corsi and Arpaio be referring to??

"During her approximately 10-minute speech delivered in the front of the room, Taitz made her case to Arpaio, with her comments punctuated by audience applause. Arpaio, standing next to the podium, listened to Taitz attentively and politely.

"Thanks for your input," Arpaio said, after she handed him the papers containing her evidence and arguments regarding the Social Security number controversy. "We are looking at this very closely."

He commented that he was a little sorry Taitz went into details of specific investigative issues while the investigation was ongoing, but he acknowledged, "You have a right to do so. I'm investigating and I have to be careful sometimes. It's very complex."

The supposed smoking gun? Records from Obama’s time as a student at Occidental that showed he received financial aid from a Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program awarded only to foreign students. From the e-mail:

In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama’s qualifications for the presidency, the group “Americans for Freedom of Information” has released copies of President Obama’s college transcripts from Occidental College. Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California.
