The birthers claim that there was some big conspiracy (presumably by an international cabal of Marxists?) when Pres. Obama was born to smuggle him into the country, fake his birth certificate and raise him to be President some day for some nefarious purpose.

These birthers have never addressed the issue of why the conspirators chose a black baby. Back in the early 60's there was no way of knowing the country would elect a black man during Obama's lifetime. Why not choose a white baby since all Presidents had been white men up to that point?

Secondly, if it had to be a black baby, why go to all the trouble of smuggling one in when there were plenty of black babies already in the U.S. to choose from?

I think the birthers (particularly Orly) have convinced themselves that Obama himself is behind it, forgetting that their imagined plot would have been hatched before he was born.

Glix, cranks have a default answer for that.
Whenever you ask them "why did the Almighty Conspiracy go through so much efforts to go the contrived way when they could have gone the straight and undetectable way", they usually retort "they did that on purpose to show us they can get away with anything, to flip us off etc".
It's not a sane response, but that's the birther response.

> why go to all the trouble of smuggling one in when there were plenty of black babies already in the U.S. to choose from?

Another birther answer is, paraphrased, "they needed someone who genetically was anti-American; an American black baby would never have been willing to shred the Constitution blah blah blah".

Concerning the article about Klayman at ORYR. Originally, Klayman wrote, "Currently, the case has been filed, amended once, and is now in discovery." I know this, because I quoted him directly in a comment at ORYR. Other commentators also refer to Klayman's claim of being "in discovery."

Now the article has been amended without comment to read, "Currently, the case has been filed, amended once, and is now preparing discovery."

Would have been nice to put the precise time the audience laughs at Barnhardt when she goes birther. More than 30 seconds of her rants will ruin one's day for sure.

Dummett seems to think his cases are proceeding swimmingly! He's got a new piece up explaining while all the Birthers should be thanking him, how much they owe him for saving Birtherstan and that now would be a good time to send money. http://patriotsforamerica.ning.com/profiles/blogs/beginning-of-the-end-of-the-illegal-election-of-2008?xg_source=activity
All the Birthers are such humble sorts, eh?

Thanks, Mike M. Nice to know they have come up with a birther-style rationale to plug that gaping hole in their logic.

I could only do 7 seconds of Ann Barnhardt. My ears started to bleed.

Hours and hours spent listening students audition for a musical seems so much more pleasant, now.

Though it's about the same level of logic as "Earth is only 6,000 years old, God buried the dinosaurs to test our faith" or a physicist claiming "my theory explains everything, and the issues it can't explain, that's just quarks deliberately trying to fool us". ;)

I can't believe that you just blogged about that subject. Not too many people appreciate the value of they Although not really particularly appropriate, your website has offered me with some thoughts for details and style for a variety of solutions sites I am developing, for issues like Agency, Oral offices, Electrical engineers, Attorneys and going firms
