A rather short dispatches today, mostly because I'm in the middle of a move to a slightly larger place.
Anyway, we have the birther reaction to Mitt Romney's COLB. Rudy Davis follows his "Public Beheading" video with death prayers and a visit from the Secret Service.
Media pondering on Romney's cozy relationship with birthers, while other members of the GOP are bathing in tomato juice. Swiftboat liar Jerome Corsi appears on the radio, and World Nut Daily's comments become an extra-crispy bucket of racism.
We have some birthers screaming "don't call us that!!". Mario Apuzzo hears a very familiar word. SPLC releases their summer report, and there's some familar names on it. James Manning thinks FEMA is ready to deport African-Americans back to Africa. And lots of birther death threats against President Obama.
30 May - The Atlantic Wire gets the birtherstani reaction to Mitt Romney's COLB.
Dr. Orly:
""I am calling on all of the candidates -- and the vice-presidential candidates -- to sign a release where they would allow the release by the department of health the original birth certificate and microfilm.""
Good luck skippy.
Nick Walsh, "Computer Expert"
"After The Atlantic Wire wrote about Donald Trump's evolution as a birther, Walsh wrote in (and posted it as an open letter) to say, "No sane person can be this ignorant, so I’ll just assume your material today about the birth certificate is your corporate duty as a presstitute. I am an adobe expert with 35 years in computers and information technology. I wasn’t a birther until someone asked me to look at the file. Begrudgingly I looked at it – and I was shocked!" We replied by asking to see his resume and are still waiting to hear back. Nevertheless, Walsh was a good sport and shared his views on Romney's so-called birth certificate"
And what does this "Computer Expert" have to say??
"I am speaking simply here as a computer geek. That certificate bothers me a lot. Here's why.
The dude was born in 1947. We didn't even have computers capable printing this stuff until about the mid 80's."
*Faceplant* The stupid is insanely strong with this one.
"He appears to be a "natural born citizen", but his dad was born in Mexico. I'd want to verify his mother's birthplace as well."
*Snork*
PUMA Larry Johnson of the formerly-sane "No Quarter"
"But when I asked for his response to Romney's birth certificate, Johnson did not provide many details. "Why don't you do your job and ask the campaign for a copy of the original and then do the same for Obama," he responded. I suggested that perhaps he had more expertise on the issue than I did. "Your ignorance is breathtaking," he sent from his iPhone."
Larry Johnson is still nursing a grudge that Hillary Clinton didn't win the primaries.
Mickey Mathis:
"When asked about Romney's birth certificate, Mathis responded, "Well I'm sure you Marxists will find some lies to tell about it-just like you do everything else. Fools."
*Chuckle*
30 May - From calling for President Obama to be beheaded, Rudy Davis goes for death prayers next, "making their wives a widow and their children fatherless".
It's quite amazing to hear him praying for the truth, when every other word out of his mouth is hatefilled lies.
The difference between an "Imprecatory prayer" and a curse is what exactly??
At 7:45 he "prays that judgement comes" upon President Obama. Yep, he's praying for the President's death. Not to mention the "sickness or death or financial despair" of all those who support President Obama.
What's next, Rudy calls for a jihad against the unsaved and anyone else he doesn't like??
I can see him muttering prayers and curses upon the wicked as he builds a holy car bomb to cleanse the world of those Rudy feels are unclean.
30 May - I owe the writer at the UK's "The Guardian" a pint for this line:
"One wonders exactly what post a grateful President Romney will reward Donald Trump with after the election – US ambassador to Twatistan?"
30 May - The Financial Times makes this observation about the tribble-headed one and Romney's inability to denounce him.
"If there is one thing Mr Trump is good at, it is sending the asylum into a frenzy. But even this rationale falls flat on its face. At a point where Mr Obama is still getting only lukewarm support from his base, nothing could be better calculated to ignite Democrats than the sight of Mr Trump standing shoulder to shoulder with the Republican nominee.
It is possible there is some complex psychological explanation as to why Mr Romney keeps doing this. None of the sane ones hold up."
30 May - Ana Marie Cox at The Guardian makes another observation about Donald Trump's return to birtherstan.
"No one seems to think Romney himself actually believes that Obama's presidency is built upon a secret stash of documents. No, Romney's problem is that his embrace of Donald Trump (so repeatedly that Mitt risks being asked about group marriage again) only underscores his uncomplicated willingness to be seen with anyone who might be able to pull in an ungotten vote or two."
And Romney seems quite willing to wallow in the mud with birthers without actually saying he's one. There's Donald Trump, and his Arizona campaign co-chair for starters.
And remember his Arizona campaign co-chair, SoS Ken Bennett, tried to find ways to remove Obama from that state's ballot.
"This analogy gained some painful literalness when the Romney campaign released its iPhone app, a fluffed-up camera filter that allows users to take pictures framed by campaign slogans. The app became insta-mocked for its misspelling, "Amercia", as in "A Better Amercia"! But that mistake overshadowed a more telling flaw in the entire concept: giving users the ability to put an official Mitt imprimatur (impri-Mitt-ur?) over anything. There is an innocent eagerness verging on naivety about this gambit, and it is representative of his entire campaign."
Not to mention some plain sloppiness.
"Donald Trump's request for Obama's birth certificate (or his college transcripts, for that matter) are only the most ludicrous and high-profile versions of the kind of "let me see your license" bullshit that African Americans have to put up with every day. And Romney's bland acceptance of Trump's mercenary bullying is the birthright – the license, if you will – of someone whose real privilege is never having to worry about what other people think."
So basically it's Yet Another Example of "you better show us your damn papers, BOY!"
31 May - And another member of the GOP tries to get the stink of birther off of themselves.
"Hoekstra, fresh of a CNN interview on the same topic, grew loud as he tried to quiet controversy resulting from his idea to create a federal office that would verify the qualifications of political candidates. "This is an absolutely ludicrous discussion to be having four years after a presidential (election)," Hoekstra said at a near shout. "It is an absolute waste of time and energy.""
31 May - World Nut Daily pimps Jerome Corsi's appearance on former Gov. David Patterson's radio show.
The comments though, are extra-special.
"Mark Bischoff
Romney IS "Obama-White". However, "Obama-White" still beats "Obama-Mullatto" any day!!

"Wahhh! Where's my civil war?? I want my civil war!!!!"
"Had enoughWhat REALLY p***es me off it that Congress has turned a blind eye, deaf ear, and silent mouth to this fraud that is being perpetrated against the US Citizens and the Constitution. It is shameful that the very representatives we entrusted and elected into office have completely failed this Nation. This administration needs to be Impeached, obama needs to be imprisoned and hung for crimes against humanity, impersonating the POTUS, issuing executive orders to kill people.

Interesting. The moderators at World Nut Daily will edit out the word "pisses", but have absolutely no problem with someone calling for the President of the United States to be hung.

KEEP IN MIND IF WE STICK TOGATHER,THERE ARE MORE OF US THAN THERE ARE OF THEM, FEAR WiII BE CHANGED AROUND.
TREES AND ROPED BECOME ABOUND.
Oh look, another death threat.
31 May - "Wahhh! Don't call us birthers!!!"
"According to a Scottsdale gun-law author, the word "birther" is a derogatory term "equivalent of the 'N' word."
Perhaps it's not surprising to hear something a bit nuts coming from the author of After You Shoot: Your Gun's Hot. The Perp's Not. Now What?, but Alan Korwin actually got this on the East Valley Tribune and Arizona Republic websites.
"'Birther,' used by the media with impunity, is a derogatory slur, the equivalent of the 'N' word used for another group to cast them as sub-human," Korwin writes. "You apply this new 'N' word to a huge group of politically-active Americans who've raised legitimate questions on a legitimate topic."
Wow. A birther playing the victim card. Shock and amazement.
"'Birther' is used by the media to demean and denigrate skeptics, in a similar fashion as the 'N' word is used by the public to portray a group in an unfavorable light," Korwin responds. "This is a common technique of left-leaning media, well documented, used when rational argument fails. I hope you would agree that name calling is hardly a valid journalistic technique. Swap 'skeptic' for 'birther' in any of those stories and see how differently they read."
The "B' word" is probably the most precise term for people who believe President Obama's from Africa, as many of the people subscribing to the theories embrace it. Maybe it's the silliness that's always surrounding the "B' word" that makes it sound like a dirty word."
Based on the comments, it seems people aren't buying it.
"Truconserv 1 minute ago Yes, remember all the birthers we lynched while we taunted them?Remember how the birthers had no choice but to think, insanely, that Obama was born in Kenya?
Remember how the birthers were forced to drink out of separate water fountains? How when they demanded they be listened to the Sheriff was OPPOSED to them and sic'd dogs on them?
I mean come on, - it's not like being a birther is a choice, it's something you're born into, right.
Let's get that black man out of the white house and put a birther in - it's their time, it's their payback for having suffered as much as all those niggers … Right?"
"WhoKnows 1 hour ago Instead of the "B" word, the media should just refer to birthers as "Clueless Clowns".But then clowns would complain for being associated with these nut jobs!"
"Native Guns 25 minutes ago in reply to WhoKnows
The vile disparaging phrase: "white supremacist" will suit them just fine. It's been around much longer and has a bad perception relating to it. "Clueless clowns" just doesn't add up."
31 May - Well, if Romney is this conspiracy-minded, then maybe it's no surprise he's playing with the birthers.
"Mitt Romney’s campaign justified its secrecy in setting up a press conference in front of Solyndra’s California headquarters on Thursday by warning of a conspiracy by White House officials to potentially sabotage their efforts.
“We knew, if word got out, that Solyndra would do everything in their power, and the Obama administration would do everything in their power, to stop us from having this news conference,”an unnamed adviser told reporters, per CNN.
Reporters raised the question of how this devious plot to derail the event would work given that the freedom to hold a press conference in public is a fairly basic right.
“Well, he’s only the president of the United States,” the adviser replied. “I mean, they could work with town officials to deny us access.”
*Rolls eyes*
"DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse dismissed the claim of conspiracy as a fringe notion.“It’s actually bizarre,” he said. “I don’t want to use the term ‘weird,’ but I don't know where he would get that idea from.”
Woodhouse noted the irony that Romney supporters actually interrupted an Obama campaign press conference in Boston with chants and a bubble machine earlier the same day.
“He’s delusional,” another Democratic aide told TPM when asked about the charge."
Gonna have to agree. And it does seem odd that Romney is worried that the Obama campaign might disrupt his press conferences, and yet has no problems with his campaign doing the same thing.
Hypocrite much?
31 May - And Mario Apuzzo (plus tea party birthers Nicholas Purpura and Theodore Moran), hears from the New Jersey Superior Court about their Birther Ballot Jihad in that state.
(Scribd link here)
So you know how hard Apuzzo argued his pet de Vattelist legal theories??
Well, the court had their own opinion of his arguments.
"We have carefully considered appellants' arguments and conclude that these arguments are without merit. R. 2:11-3(e)(1)(E). We affirm substantially for the reasons set forth in ALJ Jeff S. Masin's thorough and thoughtful written opinion of April 10, 2012, as adopted by the Secretary on April 12,2012.
Affirmed."
31 May - The Southern Poverty Law Center releases their Summer 2012 Intelligence Report. Including "30 New Activists Heading Up the Radical Right"
Like White Nationalist Kevin DeAnna
"In 2011, Jared Taylor (see profile below), editor of the racist journal American Renaissance, wrote a fundraising letter for DeAnna’s YWC in which he described DeAnna as “an eloquent and distinguished young man who knows how important our cultural identity is.” (Taylor has written that when “blacks are left entirely to their own devices, Western civilization — any kind of civilization — disappears.”) DeAnna, in an accompanying letter to Taylor’s mailing list, boasted that he had “defended western culture” against a “far left” that is trying to “destroy our people and culture.”
DeAnna had flirted with hard-right politics for years before founding YWC, whose purpose is to defend “Western culture” from the perils of “radical multiculturalism,” in 2006. As an undergraduate at Virginia’s College of William and Mary, he ran a conservative student paper notorious for its sneering treatment of women. There, he worked closely with Marcus Epstein, who later described himself as YWC’s vice president. In 2007, while drunkenly walking through the streets of Washington, D.C., Epstein saw a black woman walking by, called her a “nigger,” and tried to physically attack her. When the incident became public two years later, YWC strove to put a distance between itself and its erstwhile associate."
And where is DeAnna now?
"Remarkably, DeAnna has now been named “marketing coordinator” for WorldNetDaily (WND), a far-right online publication known for its relentless anti-Obama “birther” propaganda and the kind of apocalyptic “news” stories that would look at home in a supermarket checkout line "
A white nationalist working for World Nut Daily. What are the odds? Particularly since Joseph Farah and his pornstar mustache also makes the list.
"Farah’s name recognition jumped significantly when he was at the head of the “birther” pack, attacking the legality of the Obama presidency based on the theory that he wasn’t a legal U.S. citizen at birth. “My dream is that Barack Obama … won’t be able to go to any city, any town, any hamlet in America without seeing signs that ask, ‘Where is the birth certificate?’” Farah said in 2010 at a National Tea Party convention in Nashville, Tenn., where he shared the stage with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Despite all his clamorous pot banging, it was not Farah but multimillionaire developer Donald Trump who ultimately became such a pain that President Obama released his “long-form” birth certificate last year. That didn’t satisfy Farah, who, along with his attack-dog writer Jerome Corsi, continues to insist Obama is no citizen.
Farah later traveled even further down the citizenship road, questioning the birth of Sen. Marco Rubio in early 2012, when the Florida Republican was mentioned as a possible vice-presidential candidate. “Rubio is not eligible,” Farah told Fox News host Sean Hannity."
Old birther Pamela Geller makes the list as well.
"Through her website, Geller has promulgated some of the most bizarre conspiracy theories found on the extreme right, including claims that President Obama is the love child of Malcolm X, that Obama was once involved with a "crack whore," that his birth certificate is a forgery, that his late mother posed nude for pornographic photos, and that he was a Muslim in his youth who never renounced Islam. She has described Obama as beholden to his "Islamic overlords" and said that he wants jihad to be victorious in America."
She has her fan base:
"Geller's anti-Muslim stance has also drawn the admiration of white nationalist and even neo-Nazi proponents on the extreme right – a rather remarkable feat, considering she is Jewish. She has been the subject of positive postings on racist websites such as Stormfront, VDARE, American Renaissance and the neo-Confederate League of the South."
Corsi's friend Alex Jones makes the list.
"Although it hardly seems possible, Jones’ fecund imagination now seems to be sprouting even more conspiracy theories than before.
Last year, for example, after Jared Lee Loughner went on his January 2011 rampage in Tucson, Ariz., killing six and wounding U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Jones told Rolling Stone: “This whole thing stinks to high heaven. … My gut tells me this was a staged mind-control operation. The government employs geometric psychological-warfare experts that know exactly how to indirectly manipulate unstable people through the media.”
And hey, birther and World Nut Daily video maker Jason "Molotov" Mitchell (and his wife, DJ Dolse), also make the list!
"Mitchell, a former wedding videographer who says he came to Christianity after studying Buddhism, Islam and Hare Krishna, does not limit his commentary to religion. He’s described U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor as an “anti-American racist,” called the progressive Latino advocacy group La Raza “the tan Klan,” and spread “birther” lies about President Obama.
It was a 2008 video about Obama that put Mitchell in the national spotlight. In his “Video Portrait of Barack Hussein Obama,” he accused then-candidate Obama of being a racist, Marxist anti-Semite “discipled” in “quasi-Christianity.” The same year, an evangelical TV channel that had been hosting Mitchell’s edgy “comedy” stopped working with him after he made and ate a cookie decorated with the face of Mohammad, violating the channel’s promise not to denigrate other religions. But WND reportedly liked what it saw and has been working with him ever since.
Mitchell’s wife also posts on WND, under the name “DJ Dolce.” In 2010, she endorsed the thoroughly disproven theory that gay men were responsible for the Holocaust."
Then there's seditionist, birther, and "Oathkeeper" Stewart Rhodes
"But since retiring from the Army and in 2009 starting the Oath Keepers — a defiant “Patriot” organization of active military and police personnel who vow to uphold their oaths to the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, foreign, domestic and imagined — the Yale-educated lawyer has emerged as one of the primary intellectual fountainheads of the antigovernment right.
Under the defiant banner of “Not on our watch,” Rhodes has recruited thousands of politically disaffected men and women into the Oath Keepers. He has plied them with ideas of a tyrannical “New World Order” looming on the horizon, only to dismiss those worries as mere theoretical concerns when it is convenient to do so — typically, when trying to paint the group as mainstream in discussions with reporters. It’s doublespeak at its finest.
For example, he told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that he wasn’t animated by conspiracy theories or fears.
But when speaking to radio conspiracist Alex Jones, Rhodes touted the benefits of his new organization by playing to one of Jones’ key worries. “We know that if the day should come where a full-blown dictatorship would come, or tyranny … it can happen [only] if those men, our brothers in arms, go along and comply with unconstitutional, unlawful orders. … Imagine if we focus on the police and military. Game over for the New World Order,” Rhodes said."
And "President" Timothy Turner of the secret cRAP Masters shows up.
"But with RuSA, Turner went a step further than his co-religionists, setting out to form a shadow government lying in wait for the day it would be needed. “We, the people of the United States of America, are the most powerful force on earth,” Turner said in a video posted online after RuSA was formed. “We’re more powerful than any government on earth. … We are a nation of kings.”
RuSA emerged from the rubble of another group, the Guardians for the free Republics, which raised alarms in 2010 by publicly demanding the resignation of all 50 state governors. Little came of its demands, naturally, and the Guardians collapsed within months of the declaration due to infighting. Turner alone pushed onward, selling the myth that the federal government was a sham.
The group’s gubernatorial demand, which prompted at least one statehouse to beef up security, was its first major public action. But it wasn’t the last. This January, Turner filed a federal lawsuit in Alabama that accused President Obama, the governors of all 50 states, and the sheriffs of every one of America’s 3,131 counties of libeling him in their characterization of his sovereign beliefs."
So of the thirty, seven are birthers or have significant birther ties.
And 10% of them have ties with World Nut Daily.
Maybe it's time for WND to be declared a hate group.
31 May - The Corsi/Arpaio dog and pony show also makes SPLC's summer intelligence report.
"Three months after the U.S. Justice Department alleged that Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s office had violated the civil rights of Latinos in Arizona, the self-described “Toughest Sheriff in America” responded with brash defiance — by holding a March news conference questioning President Obama’s citizenship.
It isn’t clear what jurisdiction is claimed by Arpaio’s department, which The Associated Press last December accused of inadequately investigating more than 400 sex crime cases, many involving children of undocumented immigrants. But Arpaio’s intrepid investigators found pretty much what they were expected to — that “probable evidence exists indicating forgery and fraud may have been committed.”
31 May - Rudy gets a visit from the Secret Service (gee, I can't imagine why!), and films the whole thing.
And he makes a video afterward.
BTW Rudy, they more than likely don't think you're a little crazy. They more than likely think you're a LOT crazy. They just want to make sure you're not a threat crazy.
Oh, and mentioning you have unregistered guns?? Bad idea….
Let's see. You posted that you wanted to see the President of the United States "publicly beheaded", and then you're upset that the Secret Service is asking questions about your private life. And I can see why the Secret Service might have been a bit concerned about your calling for the "death penalty" for the President. And he's really annoyed by the African-American Secret Service agent. Gee, I wonder why?
Oh, and he thinks now the Secret Service might get an order to "take him out".

Here (starting at about minute 7:00) he calls for the public beheading of Barack Obama… in prime time on national TV.

Nobody stopped Rudy from exercising his rights. However the First Amendment doesn't allow you to yell "fire!" in a crowded theatre without consequences. Same with threats against elected officials or the President of the United States.

Ah, potty humour. Don't you just love the maturity level?

Well, I'm glad that Secret Service paid the visit to Rudy and that it went down fairly well on both sides.
For all Rudy's "true believer" intensity as a loyal disciple of the Birther Cult, I do think he deserves some credit for his statements starting at 7:26 in his post SS visit video, in which he works very hard and comes across very sincere at telling his followers that the law must be followed and it is NOT OK for himself or anyone else to take matters into their own hands to harm Obama or others.
I was actually pleasantly surprised by that and it is a very welcome change from all the endless insincere and inadequate "regrets" we've seen from so many other Birthers & shamelessly pandering politicians in the past.
I can only hope that the lesson has actually suck in and holds and that Rudy can manage to be a bit more responsible in his irrational "passion" diatribes in the future.
Speaking of those who've been inadequate & insincere in their past "apologies"... let's talk about that latest 5/30 tape from Manning! Wow... just wow!
What an unhinged tantrum of over-the-top delusional crazy that was! Manning is clearly a more dangerous and unstable personality to deal with. You can tell that self-loathing clown is just itching to incite someone even less hinged than himself... I predict Manning will earn himself another Fed visit at some point and when it does, I highly doubt it will go down as calmly and well as Rudy's did...

Hmmm. Seems like Manning was on 116th Street and got hold of some reeelly gud shite.

Wow. And imagine how much fun the birthers will be if the President gets reelected!

IMO, Manning is much more calculating and insincere than Rudy is, and, hence, much less of a threat. Manning is definitely a mercernary in it for patronage from some unknown benefactor who is pleased to "put a roof on the church."
Rudy, on the other hand, is truly demented; there is no predictability of his future actions.
It would have been a good thing if the SS had detained both Rudy and his girlfriend for "observation and evaluation" for mebbe 4-5 weeks. Not that it would likely sober him, but serve as a deterrent for future uncircumspect behaviour in the future--both for him and for others.

These Secret Service guys are really good at their jobs. After a visit from them, guys previously ranting on about marching into the WH and grabbing the Prez. are suddenly all about due process and reject their previous notions of lynchings.
Even the truly crazy ones like Rudy are shaken by a visit from the men in black.

Ah, World Nut Daily. A media source where illiteracy is an asset.
True, some of them obviously don't know their way around a dictionary ("Maybe I am neice"? "Tray Tore"??)
But the coward who wrote this:
"He needs a no*se around his ne**"
knows exactly what he wants to say, he'd just like to avoid a visit from the FBI.

> " I am an adobe expert with 35 years in computers and information technology."
And he still doesn't know Adobe (!) is a company and not a common noun?
Also since practically no-one professionally works with *all* Adobe products (from Photoshop over Illustrator to After Effects, Acrobat and Flash), the expression "Adobe expert" is pretty silly in itself, it's like saying "Microsoft expert" or "IBM expert". No real professional would do that, they would specify "expert in Photoshop and Lightroom".
So already by that we can deduce this "expert" is talking out of his rear end again.

At least one of those letters reads like it was written by Gerry "Borderraven" Nance, the Dessert Storm veteran/Minuteman/Patriot/pedophile.
