19 July - Sen. John McCain dismisses the birthers.
"MCCAIN: I don't know what she should do. I think she's in a very uncomfortable position right now obviously. Because there was no substance to this allegation that she got from this organization, whose head, by the way, I have known many years. Frank Gaffney, I have known him for many years. He's a friend. But what they did was wrong.
MORGAN: What does it say about the state of modern politics, that that kind of thing can happen?
MCCAIN: Listen, we just had a sheriff of Maricopa County, again, who has taken it upon himself to prove that President Obama was not born in the United States of America. Need I say more?
MORGAN: Well, I think you need to say one thing more, which is what does it tell you about the state of politics?
MCCAIN: It's crazy. It stokes the fires of extremism and passions of people that really is very unfair. So it's up to us to try to steer things into a more rational behavior and thought. But this is still the greatest nation in the world. It's still the best people in the world. It's still the most innovative nation in the world."
The irony is that Sen. McCain is acting as a surrogate for Mitt Romney in this interview, and he's showing more class and more regard for reality than surrogates like Donald Trump or Arizona SoS Ken Bennett.
It says something sad that Romney hasn't done what Sen. McCain did in 2008, and dare to correct his supporters lies.
25 July - Alaska sovereign citizen and open racist Gordon Warren Epperly files another lawsuit against President Obama.
"A Juneau man is still trying to get President Barack Obama to produce documents showing that he’s qualified to appear as a candidate on the November general election ballot. This time, he’s filed a lawsuit to force the state Division of Elections to produce the documents.
Gordon Warren Epperly earlier this year filed an objection with the Division because he believed that Obama, as a child of a mixed marriage, did not have the political right to hold federal office. Epperly says that the “purported” ratification of the Fourteenth Amendment only allowed for civil rights for those that he calls Negros or Mulattos. The Division turned down the challenge, saying that they do not have jurisdiction or governance over selection of national candidates.
Epperly is acting as his own attorney and has now filed suit in Juneau Superior Court in what may be the first claim of presidential eligibility ever litigated in Alaska. Epperly says Obama’s status as a citizen is unknown and he was unlawfully inaugurated as President of the United States. Epperly claims that, by assuming office, Obama has committed the crime of advocating the overthrow of the United States government. "
Rep. Nancy Pelosi gets a nod too.
"Epperly also questions the qualifications of Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi to run for federal office. Pelosi, Epperly believes, has no inherent right of birth as a citizen because she is a woman."
The State of Alaska already has an opinion:
"Epperly wants the Division of Elections to evaluate Obama’s qualifications by specifically obtaining a physical “verified” copy of a vault birth certificate. If he is not qualified, then Epperly wants Obama to be investigated for advocating overthrow of the government.
The suit has already drawn a response from state attorneys. Assistant Attorney General Elizabeth Bakalar filed a motion to dismiss on Friday, July 20th. Near the start of her pleading, Bakalar writes that the “Plantiff’s statements regarding race, gender, citizenship, and criminal conduct are repugnant and absurd.”"

The fact that Mitt Romney continues to use Donald Trump as a surrogate without denouncing him speaks volumes to Romney's complete lack of moral courage. Sen. Yes, you are correct, but it is pretty much only you and I who know this today! Most Americans know nothing about the fact that Powell was advanced due to (massive) Affirmative Action (AA) pressure. Actually, to be more accurate, it was his promotion to the rank of B.Gen. (1-star) that was the major AA break that positioned him for the remainder of his career. A large (almost uncounted) number of non-black candidates were passed over before Powell's name finally came up as a candidate for promotion to B.Gen. At the time this was thought to be a major AA breakthrough. Now-a-days something so incredibly blatant as that affair would not be seen in the same glowing light as it was then.
Some would say that after he made the rank of L.Gen. (3-star) that he actually started to distinguish himself legitimately. But I do not hold that opinion. Deep down Powell is the very same man as he was when he was a Colonel and younger; that is, not a particularly accomplished man or soldier. But again, pretty much only you and I know about his past and that he was really a created man through ridiculously aggressive AA policies and pressure to promote him for show.

26 July - Former PUMA and birther "Ladyforest" finds the 1961 Vital Statistics Instruction Manual and comes to the conclusion that Jerome Corsi lied to Mike Zullo.

"It’s never a good feeling to get bad news. In this case the bad news is that the “shocking” information which Mike Zullo, Cold Case Posse leader, released on July 17th is debunked. Yes, I said debunked. By the actual 1961 Vital Statistics Instruction Manual.
Recall that Mr. Zullo stated that Dr. Jerome Corsi had spent a day in the Hawaiian State Archives, and as a result of the research done while there (after Mr. Zullo had already returned to the mainland) Dr. Corsi had found proof that the code numbers penciled in on obamas officially released “long form birth certificate” had been decoded. That in FACT the number “9″ being noted in both the fathers race field (box 9), and in the fathers business or industry (box 12b) indicated that no information had been supplied for those fields. That in FACT the code “9″ meant “not stated”, and those boxes should have been blank/empty, yet were filled with information anyway. It seems that the information given by Zullo at the press release is wrong.
In the interest of getting plain facts, I followed up on a lead from The Daily Pen on where they were able to acquire a 1961 Vital Stats Instruction Manual, excerpted images of said manual being in a post that they published on Feb. 29th of this year.
I was able to obtain, by email, a link to a scanned copy of the CODING AND PUNCHING GEOGRAPHIC AND PERSONAL PARTICULARS FOR BIRTHS OCCURRING IN 1961. It is a 18 page manual.
It was sent to me by the main office of the CDC – National Center for Health Statistics in Hyattsvile, MD.
It does NOT support the claim that the number “9″ indicated “not stated”. That being said, recall that this is the FEDERAL manual. I do not know if HI had their own separate coding, for their own state specific data collecting. I will now attempt to hunt down the answer to that question. The process of “punching” the coded information seems to have been a tedious and lengthy procedure, and I do not know if HI would have done this for state level stats using DIFFERENT codes than the Federal codes outlined in this manual."
"Ladyforest" is actually pretty good at debunking any other birther theory that goes against her own personal theories about Hawaiian birth records. She's also just as good at dismissing any actual evidence that goes against her own personal theories about Hawaiian birth records.
This also means that Corsi and Zullo lied about there being no copies of the 1961 manual. Funny thing that.....
27 July - The Huffington Post reports on the Conservative Majority Fund ad.
"The Conservative Majority Fund PAC's spot looks like a cheaply produced infomercial, except instead of selling gadgets, it's pushing the notion that Obama is hiding something dark about his past. It includes all of the boilerplate fringe theories: Questions about Bill Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, characters in the president's book, his college records, his social security number, and of course, his birth certificate, all make an appearance.
"No one -- I mean no one -- has seen an actual physical copy of Barack Obama's birth certificate," the narrator says, before directing viewers to call a number to "disqualify Obama before the Democratic National Convention." They'll need 10,000 signatures from every congressional district in the United States to do this.
The Atlantic reports that the ad was aired on Fox News on Tuesday afternoon. Some birthers were apparently not satisfied with the content, saying it improperly identified the state where the president's social security number supposedly originated."

27 July - Oh dear. Jack Cashill, writing for the American Stinker, has a mad that some people may find Terry Lakin's book a steaming pile of birther lies.
"How, I wonder, do these clowns psych themselves for such petty nonsense? I have grown inured to them in writing my own books, but I cringe for Lakin's sake when I read them. As Mr. Powell acknowledges, the military stripped Lakin "of nearly $2 million in lifetime pension and family benefits." To replace that money, S. Murphy assures us, "now [Lakin] comes out with this cheap piece of trash book in an attempt to squeeze (sic) out a few odd birther bucks to help replace the pension he threw away."As Powell sees it, Lakin's willingness to give up his pension makes him "the dumbest birther out there, as well as a convicted criminal." He adds, "He should consider himself and his family lucky that he only had to serve six months at Ft. Leavenworth, and not the rest of his life."
Sounds pretty accurate actually.

Especially when that "swill" happens to be, well, correct and truthful.

Instead, he ignored the repeated confirmation by the military that President Obama was legitimate, ignored his legal orders, disrespected a superior officer who won the Medal of Honor, and openly defied orders.
Lakin didn't get what he deserved. He deserved far more prison time IMHO.

Note the part about a BAR association. Sovereign Citizens think that BAR stands for "British Accredited Registry" and that anyone who's a member of such has given up their US Citizenship.

Thanks for reminding me about the comments made by Sen. John McCain. Seeing it again, I sent him an email thanking him for his comments. I also told him that I remember him doing just that during the 2008 campaign, how tactfully and honorably, he responded to an elderly woman who asked him a question about then Sen. Obama, who she believed was a Muslim, etc.
It is a shame we don't see other Republican politicians distancing themselves from the riffraff.

I wouldn't give McCain too much credit. He is right to dismiss this nonsense, as any perosn in their right mind would.
However, he's overall fairly passive about doing so. Other than his speech on the Senate floor to denounce the latest Muslim McCarthyism that is going around, he pretty much sits back and keeps quiet about these awful behaviors of his own party and its followers, unless some reporter asks him a very direct and pointed question about it. Even then, his answers are fairly short and he quickly moves on to other things.
So, I find his statement, "So it's up to us to try to steer things into a more rational behavior and thought", to be the test to which he himself needs to be held. In these regards, he really hasn't done very much at all.

That crappy birther ad that got pulled was probably due to being full of errors, even within Birther Mythology, in addition to being a crappy piece of amateur crazy.
Over at ORYR, the inmates quickly noticed various glaring errors, such as the ad claiming Obama had a SSN from MA and not CT, and other stuff like that.
Further, they quickly realized that calling that number simply got them on a spam list for more donations.
As one of the inmates at ORYR put it, "Off subject but, I was lookin thru my spam mail box this mornin and found an email from the conservative majority fund wanting a donation to run that shitty ad some more. I didn't delete the mail yet. He'll I don't know what to do. They could have made a beter ad. Anybody else get that email?"
So, as with just about everything in Birtheristan, it always rolls back to the con artists fleecing those sweet Birther Bucks from their gullible flock...

On the basis of his own argument, Epperly is disqualified, too. He might be white and male, but Alaska isn't one of the original thirteen states. So if blacks and women can't vote or hold office, neither can he.
