Corsi's a loathsome toad of a human being, but many on the right and far right remember him for the smear campaign he did on John Kerry (hence the reason why "Political Swiftboating" entered into the lexicon.)
And look at Corsi's two main backers. Joseph Farah hasn't met a far-right conspiracy or slander he hasn't warmly embraced, and Farah's Western School for "Journalism" is ran by veteran GOP dirty trickster Floyd Brown.
And then there's the simple fact that the Romney campaign has repeatedly failed to rein in their birther surrogates, (and Romney himself flirted with the birtherstani) If having tribble mobility scooter Donald Trump as Romney's surrogate doesn't bother them in the slightest, why should having a smear artist and liar like Jerome Corsi in the press pool matter??
It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the Romney campaign decided to give Corsi a place in the press corps simply to give him fodder for his propaganda - or even as an unofficial "advisor".
