Dispatches from Birtherstan - for 1 June 2011

In today's dispatches, I have two additions to my "mythbusting" page, and I do some writing about the latest birther "Great White Hope", Douglas Vogt.

The Pest and eFail continue their tradition of whiney and abusive letters to elected officials. Corsi sends a complaint to the FBI, pity he can't find a better source.

The Daily Beast writes about why the birthers keep coming back, and Dr. Kate goes off on a rant about teh ebil of sociologists.

First I'd like to take a bit of time and address what seems to be the Birther's latest "Great White Hope", that of Douglas Vogt and his so-called "research"

Now the claim to fame that Vogt has is that he runs a company that sells scanners and scanner software. Somehow the idea that this makes him a forensic document expert has taken root with the birthers. It would be much like someone who sells cars calling themselves an automotive engineering expert.

Dr. Conspiracy addresses and does a take-apart of Douglas Vogt's research here. However, I'd like to point out Vogt's other work. You see, he also runs a book publishing company called "Vector Associates". And he doesn't just publish, he writes books too! For example, his book on "Multidimensional Reality":

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 27 April 2011

For the most part, our listening posts outside of birtherstani were picking up more of the same old swill. We had Franklin Graham's non-stated but obvious support for the tribble mobility scooter named Donald Trump. More of Anderson Cooper's interview with Trump, including Trump's statement on Obama's college records, and his belief Obama's long form birth certificate was missing or non-existent.

The Pest and eFail whines at Anderson Cooper, while also whining that Obama never released any of his records, like a birth certificate. The Independent of Arizona finds USCIS records for Obama, Sr. that mention his having a child born in Hawaii. And World Nut Daily whines that the State of Hawaii has "slammed the door" on people wanting their long form birth certificate. CNN talks with Gov. Jan Brewer, and Jesse Jackson points out that the birtherstani may be a bit racist.

Which was pretty much a normal day for birtherstan. Until the morning of 27 April, when a inbound Predator drone launched from Reality made a tactical strike on birtherstan, dropping a 10 megaton State of Hawaii Long-Form Birth Certificate, (complete with request and custody chain), upon the birtherstani.

The effect was immediate, with signs the birtherstani are separating into separate factions to deal with this strike. The de Vattelist brigade seems to be attracting the most followers, under the leadership of Joseph Farah's pornstar mustache as he tries to fall back and regroup. Meanwhile, a crackpot team of denial experts, accompanied by Dr. Orly, attempt to explain away the long form. Trump and others attempt to troll for Obama's college records next, while Trump tries to claim victory. The Teahaddists go "SCARY" "NOT A CITIZEN" "SCARY" "WAHHH! HILLARY!!"

Philip Berg climbs out from the Indonesian Citizenship bunker to try and rally the free-range PayPal donations to his side. The sane part of the GOP is desperately trying to catch the last train out of birtherstan. The Pest and eFail adds their spin, while Miki Booth has fainting spells over the idea that the doctor who delivered Obama may have touched her lady parts during delivery as well. Dr. Kate listens to the wisdom of the sewage ponds and tries to rally the de Vattelists. Swiftboat liar Jerome Corsi tries to pimp his now obsolete book. Lakin's groupies seem to recognize Obama as President enough to offer Lakin a pardon.

And finally, the Daily Kos points out the documentation that many of the birthers really want.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - Special Update - Obama Long Form Released

27 April - The White House releases President Barack Obama's "Long Form" birth certificate.

"When any citizen born in Hawaii requests their birth certificate, they receive exactly what the President received. In fact, the document posted on the campaign website is what Hawaiians use to get a driver’s license from the state and the document recognized by the Federal Government and the courts for all legal purposes. That’s because it is the birth certificate. This is not and should not be an open question.

The President believed the distraction over his birth certificate wasn’t good for the country. It may have been good politics and good TV, but it was bad for the American people and distracting from the many challenges we face as a country. Therefore, the President directed his counsel to review the legal authority for seeking access to the long form certificate and to request on that basis that the Hawaii State Department of Health make an exception to release a copy of his long form birth certificate. They granted that exception in part because of the tremendous volume of requests they had been getting.

At a time of great consequence for this country – when we should be debating how we win the future, reduce our deficit, deal with high gas prices, and bring stability to the Middle East, Washington, DC, was once again distracted by a fake issue. The President’s hope is that with this step, we can move on to debating the bigger issues that matter to the American people and the future of the country."

The certificate dovetails with the Nordyke certificates, and matches the information about hospital and doctor we already knew.

That being said, the only thing this will change is that the goal posts will be moved out of the parking lot and down the street.

White House Releases Obama's Long-Form Birth Certificate

The narrative from many birtherstani for over a year now is that it's a de-facto forgery or fake, since the State of Hawaii is supposed to be in on the conspiracy and that a long-form has been "aging" for a while. Expect "proof" from Polland/Polarik within 48 hours showing "forgery".

I will also note it says "Certificate of Live Birth" rather than "birth certificate", and they've been saying for months that a COLB is "worthless".

Others will just go de Vattelist and adopt the "two citizen parent" claim, or play with the Indonesian citizenship myth.

We'll also see people starting to adopt the college records demand, particularly in light of Trump's affirmative action comments/

Still others will see it as the President giving in to conspiracy nuts and ramp the crazy up a notch.

And some of Lakin's supporters will scream bloody murder and whine that Lakin was court-martialed for no reason.

The birtherstani have shown an amazing ability to ignore facts and evidence before. This changes nothing save the dialog and types of claims made.

A quick dispatches today (since I DO have a life and career outside of what the birtherstani are up to now, *laugh*)

Dr. Orly files an amended complaint with information that may be....well, illegal. And it looks like she got them from Greg Hollister of Hollister v 'Soetoro' infamy. Dr. Kate is getting more bitter and racist as the days continue. We have a parody that I KNOW some birther is going to believe anyway.

Theresa Cao has a spokesperson with ties to convicted forger and felon Lucas Smith. Michelle Bachmann starts out her presidential bid with some birtherstanis. and "One Pissed Off Vietnam Vet" needs to go back to debate school.

24 March - Dr. Orly submits a "First Amended Complaint" in her FOIA suit against the SSA. (malware and redirect warning)

Seems like more of the usual database dreck she babbles about, in addition to the use of another database system, National Student Clearinghouse. However, there's two pieces of "evidence" she submits thats......interesting

The first is a Selective Service confirmation letter to "Barack Hussein Obama", with a redacted address.

The second is a screen shot from the SSN verification system (SSNVS)

The SSNVS one is interesting, since it seems to violate the restrictions on using that system. You have to create a business account to use it, and this is the agreement you have to agree to to in order to use it.

"I understand that the Social Security Administration (SSA) will validate the information I provide against the information in SSA's files. I certify that: * I understand that I may be subject to penalties if I submit fraudulent information. * I understand that SSA may prevent me from using these services if SSA determines or suspects there has been misuse of the services. * I am aware that any person who knowingly and willingly makes any representation to falsely obtain information from Social Security records and/or intends to deceive the Social Security Administration as to the true identity of an individual could be punished by a fine or imprisonment, or both. * I am authorized to do business under this User ID. By checking the box below you certify that you have read, understand and agree to the user certification of Business Services Online. "

So either Dr. Orly OR whoever got this for her has violated said agreement.

However, the first one is even more interesting, because it looks to be a letter that is supposed to be sent to the person who registered. Which makes me wonder how Dr. Orly got it. Particularly since misuse of that system is a federal offense....

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 19-21 March 2011

In today's dispatches, Dr. Orly remains stubborn and defiant, much like an impacted wisdom tooth. The Pest and eFail interviews another unknown presidential candidate. Dr. Orly's loss in Dunn v Taitz hits the papers.

World Nut Daily is all over the place. Everything to claims that Hillary Clinton is threatening Obama, to Joseph Farah planning a cruse and whining that Obama is making fun of the birthers, to a questionable "poll" with misquoted numbers from an unreliable source.

The Pest and eFail continues their proud tradition of whiny letters, while talking about someone complaining to New York that they're not using the de Vattelists theory on citizenship. Also, they and Dr. Kate are complaining about Libya, which is odd because you would think they would be wetting their pants at the idea of Muslims getting blow to pieces by US-led forces. Also someone at Dr. Kate's may have accidentally outed themselves....

"Gulag Bound Radio" has three crazies at once, Sher Zieve, Walter Fitzpatrick, and Therese Cao, thereby providing a prime chance to see the entire internet throw up. Cao's "protest" shows the same success as other birther rallies, while I may have made some interesting connections on Sher Zieve.....

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 22-24 January 2011

In today's dispatches, Gov. Abercrombie discovers that a governor can't ignore privacy laws. And should get swatted for being almost as stupid as a birther. An on-line petition is started to get the GOP leadership to denounce the birthers once and for all. World Nut Daily gets a warm feeling in their pants about Rush Limbaugh. And Walter Fitzpatrick makes it into an Encyclopedia.

Plus, Andrea Shea King is caught in blatant censorship. Dr. Orly gives her vision for 2012, Walter Fitzpatrick uses the Pest and eFail to whine that people didn't do what he demanded and were mean to him. Dr. Kate continues her insanity by making stuff up, while the poodle-brained one seems to be freebasing her poodle's medications. And Pam Geller thinks that every Jewish supporter of Obama should just turn in their membership cards right this very minute.

And still more as the Pest and eFail complains about the "lynching" of inmate Lakin. Funny, he's still alive, so I guess he wasn't really lynched. Pam Geller invokes the shambling undead corpse of TechDude in talking about a story in the PUMA blog "HillBuzz" that rehashes another old myth. And Rep. Eric Cantor shops shy of denouncing birthers.

Then there's a new "White Hat Report. The Pest and eFail comes up with a brand new spin on the "who is Obama's REAL father" game. Lame Cherry continues to show why some people need to be medicated for their own good. Dr. Kate seems to believe that "Constant Birtherstani Failure" somehow means they're winning. And the Pest and eFail parrots (without crediting their source), the made up "wahhh, they're being MEAN to me" claims of Anthony Martin of the fake Examiner.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - 30 November 2010

In today's dispatches, we either have some punking going on with the Fantasy TIddlywinks League, or someone a few dozen french-fries short of a Happy Meal. More ranting at the Pest and eFail. Dr. Orly vomits forth her latest batch of legal spew against Berg et al. Birther fantasies of ethnic cleansing. Anderson Cooper schools the author of Texas' "birther bill". And World Nut Daily tries to give the birtherstani party line on Apuzzo's loss.

Dispatches from Birtherstan - for 5 November 2010

In today's dispatches, the love fest for Walter Fitzpatrick goes on at the Pest and eFail. Gary Kreep tries to horn on the Kerchner case. Anti-Semite Andy Martin is trying to get support for his next Hawaiian Vacation and claiming that the birtherstani are "leaders". Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter may have a new favourite church - even if the long-legged crap daddy "pastor" running it thinks that Palin is a "dipsy-doodle". The Missouri state GOP has a new house speaker from birtherstan. Claims of voter fraud seem to be strangely missing. A document appears from the Congressional Research Service that, if real, may be a nice warm cup of shut the hell up to the birtherstani. (It's funny how the documentation they find always disproves their claims.) And Miki Booth uses the Pest and eFail to spew brand new lies and conspiracy crap.

2 November - The Pest and eFail seems to have become all Walter Fitzpatrick, all the time.

3 November - As if Apuzzo wasn't a big enough loser, look who wants to add to his case.

"A prominent lawyer who has argued several legal challenges to Barack Obama's eligibility to be president, including cases pending at the appeals level in both state and federal courts in California, is asking to join in a case already pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.

The request is from Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation to join the appeal by attorney Mario Apuzzo on behalf of his client, Charles Kerchner Jr."

Yes, the aptly named Gary Kreep. So you could guess that his Keyes/Barnett v Obama clients want in on it. And you would be wrong.

"Kreep is seeking to file a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of the Western Center for Journalism in support of Kerchner and the other plaintiffs. "

Yep, the very same hemorrhoid in the journalistic world that Joseph Farah helped found, and GOP dirty trickster Floyd Brown runs.

In today's dispatches we have various reports and spin on the latest development in the Lakin case. Plus a new addition to my records here at Bad Fiction - a 1990 to 2006 time line for Walter Fitzpatrick.

28 September - WUSA-TV reports on the latest in the Lakin case.

"But things aren't going well for Lakin as his case heads toward trial on charges of missing a movement, disobeying lawful orders, and dereliction of duty.

The judge turned down two more witnesses... ruled the orders at issue ARE lawful ... and found that Lakin's motives are irrelevant... at least until sentencing.

"It is impossible for us to put on a defense without them," says defense attorney Paul Rolf Jensen. "We've been deprived of everything, what else is left."

The Obama campaign did release a short form Certification of Live Birth that shows the President was born in Honolulu.
The state health director and registrar of vital statistics say state law prevents them from releasing the original birth certificate with the doctor's signature.

"And President Richard Nixon said he wasn't a crook, and President Clinton said he didn't have sex with that woman," says Jensen. "The point is, we are in a court of law, let him come in and be subject to cross examination with the original documentation. What do they have to hide?"

The military judge did delay the start of the trial for a month to give the defense more time to ask the court of appeals for help."

Some nasty racism in today's dispatches, starting off with James Manning's proud announcement of his own wingbattery followed by a diatribe against "ragheads". We have David Ben-Ariel and his racist ranting about Obama. The Pest and eFail interviews a filmmaker with....issues. Some ponderings from "Citizen" Larry Wells about Tim Adams and his seeming disappearance to go live with the Sasquatch. Some worries about Larry Sinclair. Sam Sewell is *also* a racist bigot, not surprisingly. Loren does another good job of debunking. And Dr. Orly's readers want their military coup like, now.

13 September - Looks like James Manning is not just a birther, but has publicly embraced being a 9/11 "truther" as well.

More than that, he's calling for birthers and truthers to unite and join forces, something that should make Philip Berg a happy camper.

His congregation seems a little.....sparse. And damn, he's bloody shrill. How can he hit notes like that unless someone behind him is squeezing his testicles in a vice grip during his sermon is beyond me

Oh, and he's pretty strongly racist and bigoted against Muslims as well, calling them "ragheads" and claiming it's the "biblical Constitutional thing" to drive Muslims out of the United States and into the "burning sands of Saudi Arabia". Furthermore he states that Muslims shouldn't be allowed into the United States unless they convert to Christianity.

What a racist piece of shit.
